    Here at the suggestion of Roxy Creations but I've been a crazy quilter forever.... and gotten crazier with my quilting through the years adding fabric paper, interesting objects, handmade clay lettering and lots of unusual things to my fabric stitching. What you are doing is so interesting. I'll try to make time to do this. Already it seems so soothing.

    I began my first what we call “snippet roll” at the end of 2019 and finished it in January. I loved the doing of it. I have begun a second one inspired by French General fabric but I want to join you in a year long Sew 4 the Soul, so I am going to look through my fabric stash and see where I can begin anew. I’ll work on both hopefully. Cheers!

    I found you last night! Recently I made snippet rolls to wrap around journals made out of vintage Bingo cards, which are now in my Etsy shop. I had so much fun making them, but I now see how else I can use my scraps of quilts and linens I have picked up to use in my journals. I especially love how you use a variety of textured materials-especially the wool pieces! A visit today to my local thrift shop to find some inspiration pieces is now planned. Thank you so much for sharing!

    Hi Anne! I am a new subscriber and excited to be here. I heard about you from Rachel with Roxy Creations. I am fairly new to sewing. I really got into when I started looking for vintage fabrics, embroidery, handkerchiefs, ECT and discovered just how hard they are to come by so I decided to try to make some of my own. I don't really have a collection but I am going to pull some things together so I can participate. I am excited about this project. It is a lovely idea. I have a lot to learn and a lot to catch up on. Will post a pic on Instagram when I am further along. Thank you!

    Also im a fellow Yorkshire girl. east though in Scarborough. when all the virus madness is over i will be able to get over to some of your courses.

    Hi Anne, I too am a new subbie. I love this idea. These are really pretty. Do you sew these together to make the pocket for your book? And what is it that you are sewing the scraps on to. I also came over from Rozy Creations.

    • @AnneBrookeTextileArtist
      @AnneBrookeTextileArtist  4 года назад +1

      You could make what ever you want out of your piece. Mine was just to sew into without having the pressure of having to make something. The backing for mine is a strip of cotton wadding but you can use anything that isn't too thick

    I have been watching for awhile and now I will try to make something. For many years ago I made a lot of embroidery and after I found junk journaling for 2 years ago I really would like to combine the 2 things. I found you because I follow Rachel from Roxy Creations.
    My big question is that I don’t have a lot of fabrics but A LOT of embroidery yarn. I have a lot of difficulties with finding the fabric I need for the project. I have a lot of blue fabrics most with small flowers but it get very busy and I need some kind of contrast color...
    I know it is difficult for you to say what I should do but maybe you have some kind of experience from other newbie who have the same problem. I usually just stop and find another thing to do but this time I really want it to work and would like to give it a try so I write to you.
    I would love to go to your workshop but I live In Denmark. Hope you understand my English.
    Thanks for sharing your beautiful creations and ideas
    Hugs from Denmark 🇩🇰

      Hi I am happy you are going to join in. I love to use second hand fabric so if I have a clear put of my wardrobe I will keep some clothes to cut up. I love second had shops as well. You dont need special fabric to do this work. Even the pieces you have you can dye another colour. Ask friends if they are having a clear out or clothes too, hope that help and happy stitching xx

Just wondering a couple of things, may I ask where your workbook is from? Did you make it? I'm a book and paper lover too. Also, wondering where you get your wonderful linen thread? Also a lover of textile anything! LOL Thank you for your inspiration and sharing :)
