Why there's a cable like connection between those coaches? Why not a usual Gangway like connection? Very unusual.
Open gangways are unusual for the MTA. The base order of R211s comes with 20 test cars for open gangways. We unfortunately would have to wait another couple years if they wanted to take the time to work it out before ordering every single car with open gangways. But they also want to replace old trains *now*.
You'll notice that the cables are all the way up against the edge. This is more for people on the platforms than for people on the trains. Actually, the open-gangway pilot cars also have these. *That* is the unusual part, something you don't see across the world.
Yeah but this needs a change.
It’s a safety thing on why there’s cables on those Gangway Cars. Something in order to protect those from outside the train from falling in.

@@rajpawar9343 chill out, we didn't have the money for that until now. please don't rush them, last time they rushed the trains had defects which affected service...
