Nice video guys! You are good fishermen to not only catch so many Gallies in one trip, but more importantly, keep just what you want to eat. THAT is the real South African way. Not the "grab all you can" mentality found in some South African provinces! Really refreshing!
lekker video Zander. I wish I had your confidence when going fishing. When I tell the wife I am going fishing she takes out chops and wors for the braai. At least There is always a beer or two.
Perfect end to a great day and at last seeing you braaing a fish Zander. Nicely done there AJ with your "Gallie" and cook. 👍Limit your catch and don't catch your limit.
Awesome video Xander. So good to see 2 brother's doing what they love. Maybe mention in the video on the legal length and limits for the newbies. P.s. I could taste those beers.
Nice one! Good catch and I'm glad to see ambassadors to the sport..great fan of catch and release and only keep for ones need...good example and happy that you emphasize this practice in your videos...keep up the good work..sterkte!!
Lekker video Xander! I am already missing the weekly uploads because of your shoulder injury. Can't wait for you to get out again and have an AWESOME time fishing and bringing us some amazing videos and footage. Stay active and im sure all of your fans can't wait for you to get back to the water.
I remember the time I was 14 and hitch hiked to keurboom in plettenberg from cape town. 1974. I caught my first galjoen and stuffed it with tomatoes and onions and braaied it. Probably the first time I cooked Lekker
Mooi man and that's what it is all about .enjoying the fishing and take what you can eat and a few beers afterwards. That big fish that you catch is only a photo trophy .
It's not about how deep or far you can cast, you need to read the water and cast in that spot. Zander explains it as well there saying where the gullies etc are where he will place his bait. Hope that helps
On my lunch break at work watching your video and got serious FOMO man !Haha keep up these videos always learning from your channel and enjoy watching big fan bro! Shout-out from KZN durban . #ZooLookFishing
Xander could I use the New 2021 Spheros in size 20 000 for non eds? I like the price point or should I just get a Saragosa? How do they compare? Is the Saragosa much better than the Spheros?
@@zoolookfishing Shot for the fast reply, going to consider the Saragosa more now, why would you rather go with the Saragosa if I may ask? I saw a few differences with the drag, bail arm and handle are there any other big differences that you know of?
A 18000 but then again it is unnecessary as it is the same size as a 20k spool so you might as well just put a 20k spool on or buy the one that is the cheapest.
Yes man...''''we demonstrate ethical and sustainable fishing by selecting the right size fish'''''... I got a full bait and fishing licence this year...been on Plett beaches, lagoon Harkerville rocks....got good stingrays and some sharks ..but i dont eat them+fish i catch are undersized/too small=all I''ve caught is quick release. i end up at local fish shops, checkers buying fish....and man that sucks...it doesnt taste like fresh fish....it smells like handi and/amonia
Xander how much line in meters of 50lb JDB Ultra Tough do you get onto your 20000 reels? Im trying to figure out how much backing and topshot I need to buy and in what lb
Depending on the brand of backing. You will need between 500m and 600m of backing. Nothing less than 500m of backing and then the ultra tough on top. Best would be to buy a spool of 600m of braid for backing, first wind on the ultra tough, then the backing on top till it is completely full and then switch the braid around.
@@zoolookfishing ok thank you good idea, just need to find a big enough empty spool to do it, couldn’t I just copy exactly what you have on one of your reels spooled with 50lb ?
Bru, to be honest I have no Idea what I have on now. I did mine a long time ago and have many spools each done like I told you now, each done with different topshot thickness so that I only need to replace the topshot each time and I know it will fit exactly
Haha, thats the only way you know it is sorted. Do it right the first time then everytime you add topshot you know the 50lb will fill it. The 50lb ultra tough is an American spec braid so it breaks well over 60lb hence why it is a bit thicker than other 50lb braid it is also a 300yds spool so its 275m so when you change to a thinner 50lb which usually is a 300m spool the difference in thickness is made up by the extra 25m. When I fill my reel and there is a few metres left I just cut that off and use that 50lb as a casting leader when I am spinning for kob or garrick on the 20lbs🤙🏻
Halo Xan....just a friendly warning..... don't try putting gallies in a pool like that when coming to the garden route...... you'll get the fines of your life my chom.

Awesome 🐟🐟🍻
Awesome guys keep it up
Do more catch cook will be great
You barely touched the water when you walked in before you’re 1st cast, I’m confused as to why cuz you get less distance?
It's not about how deep or far you can cast, you need to read the water and cast in that spot. Zander explains it as well there saying where the gullies etc are where he will place his bait. Hope that helps

Yeah you can. They are good reels but if you have the bit of extra cash rather buy the Saragosa.

They will take off and if there is a school in the small hole that we are fishing, the rest of the shoal will follow
