Love that 10000 photos myth, that means i can shoot a wall 9999 times and all of a sudden I'm a great photographer. As I'm living in a tiny town I can sign of to the myth that living in a small town isn't a problem for street photography, like you said there's always something to shoot and a story to tell.

About the 2nd myth shooting 10,000 images, with film you had to take your time and be decisive choosing what to shoot. You only had so many frames on each roll. With digital you can use burst mode and shoot 1000 shots in a weekend as you said. Sure you'll get some good shots in there but how many were bad that you deleted? Another thing about film is that it took more trips out into the streets to shoot 10,000 shots. A lot of medium format film cameras only have maybe 8 shots on a roll. You might shoot 5 rolls in a day. That's only 40 shots. That means you're making more trips out into the streets shooting film than you would with digital. That's where the experience comes in. If you take 10,000 shots in one month shooting 2000 shots each time you go out it doesn't mean you're gaining the same amount of experience because you're not out in the streets as much as you would be if you shoot film. I hope that wasn't too confusing. Every day you go out is different. You have to adapt to the situation. That's how you learn more. I recently bought an old Canon AE-1. I wanted to shoot film just for the fun of it. Growing up I only had point and shoot cameras. There were no adjustments for settings. All you had was a shutter button. Now I find myself showing down and choosing what to shoot. I think that will help me when I go out with my digital camera. I don't have the benefit of seeing things in black and white with my film camera like I do with my digital. That means I need to understand how different color tones look in black and white and try to visualize that when using a film camera.

Very good points, Carl. I think seeing the numbers relating to film photography will hep people visualize how much time (and patience) went into the craft back than. Thanks for commenting, I apprecaite it.

I just got out and take pictures , I keep what I like and delete what I don’t ; I don’t really think too much about it . I actually don’t follow anybody that does street except for friends and they don’t inspire me to do what they do .

Great man. It's good to just do it for you, without influence from others. Very similar to Vivian Maier.

    Hello buddy.
Everything you hear is a myth. 😂 I just follow my creative senses. The hardest thing i find in street photography is being confident. Its even harder to feel confident in your own small town. However every day is different so i know to keep pushing through to find that confidence.
I have given you a Sub by the way 😂😂😎📷👀👍

I think that's one of the best things to do; follow your senses. As for the confidence, I think it's an on going struggle. Sure it gets easier over time, but I have phases even after 10 years where I feel more confident than other days. Where is your town? Thanks for subbing btw, I apprecaite that.
