Let him play beer league for a few years, maybe he will come around.
More excited about lambo as a future 1C
Question: Is the issue player development???
Rutger and the Jets have a difference in option in how his development should go is what’s being reported.
With name and likeness, plus the all around perks, support, and lifestyle, it’s going to be hard for any contending team to retain top end NCAA hockey prospects. You really need the roster hole and ability to give the nhl minutes to lure them away from the negotiating power the rules give them. I don’t think this would be the case if they could sign asap like CHL/SHL draftees. It’s such a weird imbalance in negotiations. For the players: by taking this route they maximize their career earnings, look at Adam Fox, as well as lifestyle along the way.
Luckily for you guys, Chevy doesn’t burn people, seems to always get fair value when trading. I’m confident if he’s moved that you’ll be excited in what comes the other way.
Thanks for taking the time to write this well thought out comment.
Serious lack of young guns on this roster
Habs can offer 2 of their surplus young dmen + 1st round for McGroarty. That will be win win. But Jets will probably push for Lane Hutson for McGroarty 1 for 1, and Habs will say no.
This is a black eye for a supposedly Draft & Develop Team
Pass him by....
Leafs board suggested Minten, 1st 2024,
18 overall and Lukas Reichel from Chicago?
Not going to happen. A lot teams can easily beat that offer.
They should sign him. Have lines 1 2 3 and all rookie line of perfetti, lambo, and rutger.
Perfetti isn’t a rookie
He wanted to burn a year off his ELC at the end of last season in the NHL. The Jets didn't play along because they were driving towards the playoffs, now he is unhappy.
He would make a great Blackhawk!
I see both sides of this coin. On one Rutger’s move screams Ego trip that Winnipeg should just get him in the roster NOW doesn’t look good at all. Otherside; no path in 2 years?! Seems bizarre and wrong. We need to be younger and faster.
It all seems to Harken to losing Chisholm, Heinola not playing, scratching Perfetti. It’s all bizarre and frustrating.
Q
Jets are mismanaged plain and simple. Rutger is right to want to move on from Winnipeg.
He seems a little dumb.
