- Vanessa Bryant took to Instagram on Sunday to share a heartbreaking tribute in honor of Kobe Bryant's birthday. The Lakers legend would have been turned 42-years-old. In the emotional letter, Vanessa says life 'feels so empty' without Kobe and their 13-year-old daughter Gianna, admitting 'it should've been me.' Natalia Bryant also honored her dad on his special day, as well as NBA stars LeBron James and Pau Gasol.

I couldn’t imagine. How do you go on trying to have a joyful life after something like this? This woman will never be the same. The insensitive comments about her having Kobe money means nothing. All the money in the world doesn’t hold you at night in bed alone wishing your husband was there. It definitely doesn’t replace the loss of a child. Sending prayers of strength and comfort to Vanessa and her kids as they continue on adjusting to their new normal.

There were countless known and unknown unimaginable tragedies that have been happening through the last decade! Since around 2010 as far as I can remember. It is just that majority of the world population was in deep sleep for the last 10, 20 or even more years and now many people just started waking up at the same time, and the media is also playing a big role in that. My heart just breaks for her and her girls, I know I still find myself in sheer disbelief that this happened, I can only imagine how she must feel. Vanessa is a true Rider, she stuck by Kobe through everything and its terrible that this was how their love story has to end. I couldn't imagine the pain of losing not only your husband and daughter, but the pain of having to find the strength to get up everyday and keep going for your other babies. Ik he was a celeb and all and people look up to celebs and stuff and I looked up to not just kobe but other celebs who were like an icon to me and role models to me too, but Kobe's death just feels different than all other celebrities deaths. I feel bad saying that too but it does feel different for me. It's like the whole world kinda changed after his death even before covid hit. Maybe it's because I played basketball my whole life and I grew up watching and looking up to kobe too (I just turned 19 now so I watched a bit of kobe growing up, don't remember alot of it but I remember a decent amount of watching him play) and he was an icon to me too and one of my biggest idols and role model's and hero to me too, so maybe that's why Kobe's death hit me the hardest and the world just feels different for me in a bit of a way now that he's gone? But then I see other people saying the SAME THING that the world feels different with Kobe gone, so I can't be the only one that feels the world feels different without Kobe now. This is all just so crazy though man, all of this is just so crazy.

I felt the same way “when am I going to wake up from this nightmare” when my father passed away....for those that have yet experience the loss of a loved one that’s how it feels everyday and it doesn’t go away just massive pain and whole and I feel like no one understands

I have asked God why? and the only thing I can believe is that we live in this imperfect world and we are not promised there will be no pain. But that we have a promise in our afterlife. Forgive me for preaching, but I can not share what has helped me cope. Kobe and GiGi went to church before that horrible accident. He was a believer, so I know in my heart they are in Heaven.
