Really enjoyed that, Frank. Your interviews always get me thinking about my angling. Would love to see more of your thoughts on singles and various ingredients. All the best mate, have a good Christmas
Brilliant listen as always. For me you have always been the ‘Normal guys’ angling hero. Not a one dimensional time bandit. I’m glad you’ve decided to get back more into the public eye a bit, and after the crappy year you had in 2020, I hope 2021 turns out to be a belter for you.
Franks never been the big ego . Smart and understated , and super down plays himself . So generally people don't know anywhere near half , of how great he is . Good he's started sharing more . I've got a feeling his time is coming ...
Thank you Carpology for this interview, Frank is an absolute legend and watching this interview has been an absolute pleasure. His story about family over fishing I can relate to. I did not get out much when my kids were younger. Now my kids are older and my youngest daughter who is nearly 20 is slowly becoming a good angler. Thank you Carpology....
Met Frank only once, at Five Lakes to buy his book. Within a few minutes he had me, my son and my mate, who's so cynical ! Transfixed with his knowledge . The slide show he did later was superb as was his book . There must be another book in you Frank ! Hope your health is better , Best regards, Dave
Before the fish kill in 2003/3004, I caught some amazing carp from Lac du Der using Frank's fluro's. With the little bottle of booster! Was hard to keep a rod in the water. Nice one Frank. Glad you got over that illness last year.
Very modest & humble man inventor of many things people and other companies have made a fortune out of . the late 70s till early 90s was the best years in my opinion .the fishery's were not overcrowded with tackle tarts and idiots. The tackle and bait wasn't readily available as it is today . Best interview of the year by far .
Total and utter respect for Frank, True innovator and pioneer, and just a really nice guy. His book is a fantastic read and has helped me catch plenty of extra fish by thinking differently to the norm.
Good to hear that you are doing better, Frank. Take care. Hutchy and Jim were so influential to us, giants in our sport at that time. A great interview with one of the most creative and rational of our current carp anglers. It would be great to see a new book, too. ‘Every Bit of Blue’ was a personal favorite.
A great watch, very interesting, funny and informative. I remember back in the early 80’s in Kent when we had to pretend to be match fisherman or they wouldn’t let us join a lake purely to fish for Carp so I could relate to lots of this - especially the sleeping arrangemens😂 it’s All put on a plate for em now tho..Blah blah blah... Well said on the British fish. Tight lines bud
Love the comments on fish sizes, all about the venue and difficulty, can only catch what's in front of you. My most memorable catch is a 24lb ancient looking mirror. There were only 4 Carp in the lake and it took me 2 months to finally work out a way to get a bite. Didn't know at the time but I fished a chod rig 4ft from the lead with a pink pop up on top of the weed, so I can thank Frank in part, for helping me catch that Carp. All my biggest Carp were caught in France, never had a UK 40 , had numerous 40s in France, abaolutly love hauling in France, but there's something different about fishing a lake for a season or more, learning as you go and eventually working the puzzle out.
I first met Frank probabaly about 30 years ago on Cuttle Mill in winter , he had just bought out the Anchor rig and there was a cartoon in the rags , think i was winding him up a bit about it , he took it well lol, however he showed me how to tie one up and gave me the rig , it caught several fish , i was wounded when it finally was not useable lol . Had a great chat that day, genuine bloke , had a good laugh.
Frank lives up to his name completely Frank & Honest about his Fishing & Family Life he’s also pretty good on a motorcycle if I can rightfully remember Nice 1 Frank & Happy Christmas without the Beer or Whiskey though but your Health is much more Important👏👏😉👍
Great interview, such a genuine bloke, says it as it is,does the things he wants to do and does them for himself!!!! Can't ask for no more than that,I'd much rather listen to this guy all day than,Fanny Bareass!!!👍🏻🇬🇧🤘🏻🔥🙈😊😊🙏🏻
Took 2 sittings because of life and its joys but really enjoyed the interview. Losing my Dad this year ,having kids and demanding job and wanting to fish I could relate to a lot of your concepts and perceptions. Big repsect, being a decent human being and your reputation for who you are goes further than all these misconceptions. 2nd some other comments. Absolute Legend. THANK FRANK for the inspiration. 😁👍👊
Considering he 'invented 'the chod and fluro, he doesn't seem to get the attention or air time that other great anglers get in this busy modern day carp scene..
Don’t think most young anglers would realise he come up with the chord rig and the throwing stick, flouros and everything else. He should be a rich man he certainly deserves it. He doesn’t get the credit he deserves
Excellent interview from a top bloke and angler. Only one of three people i could listen to all day talking about angling, TH & MB being the other two. Youngsters would do well watching this video rather than being brainwashed by the internet and social media.. Nice one Frank.
Long form conversation is the best way to get a true perspective of someone. Judging by this and the korda podcast Frank seems a great bloke and obviously a cracking angler.
The Fred Dibnah of carp angling! He does well what he does, as a real character, with oodles of knowledge, skill and appeal. Like what he says about the modern scene. Glad you're feeling better Frank.
Loved this! Hard to follow at first, but patience is key! The Man has knowledge! Opened my eyes as a "new age" angler! Cant beat and old skool angler and their stories and gifts 👌
Top man. Refreshingly honest. I started in the mid eighties and for me it’s a totally different sport now which I have come to the decision is not for me anymore. It’s almost like match fishing for carp. The reason I started carp fishing was because there was so few people doing it. The late eighties and early nineties were great days. The fish weren’t as big but it was a totally different experience.
@Tony Robinson There are many reasons. Back then it was a lot harder to find lakes that held a decent amount of good size carp the target was a 20, i could fish a week on a lake and not see another carp angler and that wasn’t unusual. we had to make our own bait from scratch which was very time consuming as well. I’m not saying it’s all bad the tackle now is amazing to what we used But it’s a completely different situation now. I never thought I would see the day that carp fishing would become so popular you can’t get a peg on some lakes. 90% of the anglers I knew then were match anglers which is how I started fishing.
meet him years ago at the northwest barp society meeting it was my 40th birthday it was at the widnes rugby league club back in 2004 sat for hours at our table with him getting pissed and smoking
@@garyguest1885 Jim G was a good all rounder and he did some books, I’ve got gravel pit carp it’s what really got me into fishing gravel pits for carp well worth a read if you can get hold of it.
Nice to see Frank back what doing fishing in l life keep going have a good Christmas day of family to not what mean space time how many people on the lake does make difference catch rate now understand coming from Been there hope get out has when part weather looking good weather moment on a water moment self now small catching space on there when alot there catch Sllow down there all been good fan in catch fishing spodding trying nots doing all.my life met you manner farm back in day 90.s if feel crap in health one those shots tumeric honey lemon keep cold out one ths morning night pick up.amzon get all kinds. 🐚🐟
An innovator in the days of copycats, Never forget him giving me some fluro yellow dye and kick starting my fishing at Cuttle Mill. Hope you remember that Frank?. One of the good guys
For all frank contributions to carp angling he should nt have to do these dangerous conventions understand commitments but glad vital baits are allowing frank to do his own thing
I haven't, but they wouldn't be very natural sat on a lake bed in my opinion.... No doubt they would still catch fish though, people haul pressured carp on pieces of flavourless foam so anything is worth a try 👍
The commercialism is the downfall the sport & what made it so special in the first place. Less is more. I hide my captures on my local Wild water where few people carp fish. Baiting, Casting & netting fish is all done under cover of darkness, photos only when I’m alone. Have the lake to myself thanks to lying through my teeth that there is nothing in there. Downplay it always. Locals/dog walkers genuinely believe there I’ve never caught
I’m so humbled and yet delighted by some of these lovely comments you guys make everything worthwhile
Have a healthy happy Christmas x
top feller, talk sense. wish you good health and all the best for the future.
Really enjoyed that, Frank. Your interviews always get me thinking about my angling. Would love to see more of your thoughts on singles and various ingredients. All the best mate, have a good Christmas

You still got time Frank, you still got plenty of ideas to set up a tackle/bait company! Always a pleasure listening to Frank!
What’a loverly guy Frank is.

Really enjoyed that. I've completely lost the carp bug but that's made me reminisce a little.maybe one day the carp rods will come back out.
Great Knowledge and a good video. I enjoy watching Franks videos thanks Frank and Carpology
Possibly the best Frank Warwick interview I've seen. 2 hours of education. Refine that and harvest the jewels!
Frank at his best, a leader not a follower in these days of sheep. Take care mate.

Glad Frank mentioned Jim Gibbinson. Always put Frank in the same drawer as Jim. Top thinking anglers.
Frank is the man, top angler and inevator
When they said Friday for release but it’s here on Wednesday 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The reason there are so many lakes full of anglers is that we need more lakes 🎣🎣🎣
Great interview loved every second.
A very honest and enlightening interview. Although you did miss off The Orient as one of the hard challenges :)
I’ve only met frank briefly a couple of times but can honestly say you’d be pushed to find a nicer, more down to earth bloke 🙌

You should do a podcast frank, launch some more hookbaits and some audiobooks, I’d pay good money ❤️
Love how frank thinks of us average anglers 👌👍
