    I've had this on my hard drive for quite some time. Since I haven't uploaded anything in a long time here is a little taste of the vanishing point story.
    IMPORTANT NOTE:
    This is NOT the car from the original movie. All the cars from that movie were destroyed. This is from the TV movie with Viggo Mortenson, thus making it the only surviving challenger from a Vanishing Point movie.
    This is the hero car, many stunt cars also survived, they are all owned by Ted as well ;)
    There will be a longer video coming that will tell the whole story
    Now go forth and share with thine friend-kin

    I never saw or eard about this car before watching this video, but the passion for filming and cars you did put in this video and the editing you did, made me love it. The way you film cars is just purely amazing and without any drone or grading insanely the colors. Keep up the good work man you're doing an amazing job.

    Vanishing Point was described by some critics as “a 99 minute Dodge commercial”. I only remember how excited I was to go see it the day it opened in U.S. theaters , and how I jumped up in my seat when Newman tore out of that car storage place in that gleaming brand new Challenger- and said to myself ; “I will own one of those , one day.”

    The Dodge Challenger maybe a Car that still looks good to this current time period but nothing can't beat the original 1970 Model

    You might know by all the previous comments what an outstanding work you do. In fact, you probably knew before anyone told you, obviously you are more than capable to objectively reflect on what your goal on the final product should be. Only conscious people who do the prementioned are able to meet the needs of a truely passionate audience the way you do.
    The role of the car in this movie, in fact the whole movie, is so unique, there are few people who actually understand the relevance of this.
    The movie creates a way of hypnotic movement only seen here and never before or after. If there is a protagonist here, it is the Challenger, but it is not.
    The most influential choice being made here is the choice of the white paintjob.
    All the fancy colours on cars in movies before and after never complimented but blurred the view of the audience.
    This is in fact the only proper way to show the true soul of timeless art design in its purest form.
    In this timeless classic, they couldn't have it any other way.

    this and the other "Vanishing Point" Challengers he claims to own are the ones from the VP remake not the original. Those cars were all 383 and 440 cars and all destroyed by Chrysler...but we all knew that.

    Interesting, since the original Vanishing Point Challengers were 440 manuals and 1 383 Auto. Dodge wasn't happy about the movie promoting drugs and running from the cops, so they had them crushed. These cars weren't owned by the movie studio or production company. They were lent out by Chrysler.

    • @Toolaholic7
      @Toolaholic7 6 лет назад

      Chrysler had them crushed because the vins off of them were screwed up.Mark Worman of Graveyard Carz did his research and found this out

      Actually not true my father bought one of the challengers of Richard(director)he brought it back from the states to Blackpool where Richard is from my father purchased it through Barry Metcalf a American car dealer and best friend,the challenger was sprayed in lime green and on the log book was it's involvement in the movie,my father had it only for a short time muscle cars back in the 70's in the UK weren't worth shit,my father had over a hundred and made a steady living

    Theres abit of a typo in your description, the "all the cars were destroyed" thing, no the only thing that we know is that the records of what cars were used in the movie were destroyed, as the chrystler people lost all their records to a fire sometime in the late 70's early 80's, so the 383 and the 440 could still be out there, although the 440 probably suffered the most damage as that was the one used for the jumps,
    as she was the one with the pistol grip stick shift that we see him slamming into gear, while the 383 is the one with the overrider guards, the bumper guards in the front
    so while in all likelyhood the cars arent out there anymore, theirs still a chance, as they did find the rotted out corpse of the mustang from bullitt in Mexico of all god damn places, and while theirs not much and what's left had to be replaced, it was still found and it atleast gives them a starting point to track down all of the parts that were in it back then.
    and the crash at the end, 69 camaro.
    and what's to say that she isnt still out there in a wreckers yard somewhere.
    but the sad thing is that the bullit mustang I think still has its shelby gt350 steering wheel in it that steve had specially fitted in it and they dont even know it. and with how it looked it could be another toast piece they throw out.

    If it's from "Vanishing Point," it's one from the '97 remake. All, every one, from the original were destroyed by Chrysler. By the end of the original filming, Max Balchowsky and his wife were patching everything together to make one run. At the end of filming, Chrysler- completely pissed at the hippie-druggie-anti-cop vibe of the film (in their eyes)- picked up the remains of the cars and crushed them. Richard Sarafian and Max Balchowsky had even stated this over the years

      And for the record none were semi cars. # 440 4 speed cars and 1 383 automatic. The automatic car pulled the 67 camaro into the dozers!

      So it's another movie? Another remake... funny they didn't change the car.
      In the movie it as a brand new car he needed to deliver in short amount of time, doesn't deliver and drives himself to death thinking he's seeing the light.
      So I don't understand another TV movie or remake if they don't change enough.
      Did they wreck that car too?

    • @theaficionauto
      @theaficionauto  6 лет назад

      Smartzenegger yeah they wrecked a bunch and it ends the same way. It's basically a remake
