I love how you and Nostalgia Nerd can make videos in the same exact place and still the videos are completely different and with a style of their own, it's kind of fun to see them both and try to work out what you were doing while he was shooting his footage and vice versa
Pretty sure Octy is shooting anything NN is visible in & he's doing her camerawork in return. Anything where you can see them both is probably a static camera.

Saw 'nerd's video. Was looking forward to yours! I'm autistic as Fu*k and I find I understand your perspective much more. Much love from your home land you superstar. Xx
The way you opened and played the Siemens luggable made me think they made a computer out of an accordion!😆 And it didn’t help that the unicycle had a flat tire.
@BrackynMor I see, I just have a neighbor who blames me for everything wrong in his life, because he always asks for money, laundry detergent, dishsoap, floor cleaner, and whines about not having enough food. Nevermind the fact that he spends all of his own money on booze, Cigs, and Grass.
@BrackynMor Ha, I'm getting more advice on poor Octav1us' thread comments then housing authority. Well... ...Hopefully I will be moving in not too much longer. Ah that Philips P2000, first computer I ever used. They had them at my school circa 1986. That paved the way to buying a used Atari 600XL and a year later I had saved up enough to buy a shiny new Commodore C64.
I spotted a Phillips Discoverer telly in a local antiques store, a while ago. Was tempted to buy it for retro gaming, but decided I couldn't justify adding it to the 3 CRT screens I have already!
I do like the idea of a laptop that's bulletproof and can be used to bludgeon muggers, but you can still take it home and work on your spreadsheets with it. Not saying the 'luggables' are these laptops, but they surely come close.
Aahh, the Siemens Simatic 'Handy Programmer' We had one still in use as late as 1996, used for PLC programming. We used to have to move around site on a foklift....
You woulda rocked that unicycle if the tire had air in it! Awesome video dude! I also demand a recount on that luggable race. I think you made it in time lmao
Okay, those "luggables" (never heard that term before, but I love it) reminded me more of antique sewing machines than computers. I sincerely hope they weren't as heavy as sewing machines from the same time period. Also! That flappy little laptop keyboard kinda blew my mind a bit, and I'm honestly not a computer person at all.
We have some luggables at the museum where I work. Technically portable by one person, like bags of gravel or fertiliser... but you wouldn't enjoy doing it!
@@WhatHoSnorkers Haha, apparently the only real difference between a "team lift" and a "portable by one person" is the presence of a handle! (assuming your museum's luggables have handles as the ones in this video did)

9:20. Bit of trivia. Back in the 90s (probably) we found an old IBM dumb terminal keyboard from the 60s that had been laying in a disused cabinet for a couple of decades. I picked it up and "woh! How is this piece of plastic so heavy!" We took it apart, and I am NOT EXAGGERATING, there was a 6 inch slab of LEAD laying on the bottom. That keyboard was "screwed" to the desk when you used it. It ain't moving.
hilarity aside, it was really cool to get an idea of how some of those beautiful relics looked and felt. it's not easy to show off how something feels on camera. great video 11/10
Bloody wonderful as always. I do love a clicky keyboard having been raised on the BBC Micro and even now my keyboard purchasing criteria is clickyness first and price / practicality second.... I'm the weird one stood in Currys PC World pretend typing on the keyboard displays for several minutes.

The only way to successfully ride the unicycle-thing is the balance yourself with an Osborne 1 and a Kaypro luggable in each hand. You may not get very far, but momentum will ensure that there's lots of collateral damage when you get there.
