    I tried twice recently to apply for the mid tier Citi AA card but denied both times due to “too many new accounts” 🙄but no mention of inquiries

      Citi are sticklers with inquiries, thankfully product changes exist through Citi. But for folks that want additional accounts or bonuses it’s annoying.

    Maybe Citi’s “one more thing” plan is…wait for it…actual customer service 😮 woooow could you imagine?!

    I’m speculatively building up my Citi setup. The travel protections on the AA Exec Elite are like the CSR and Amex Plat. If they add them and the Prestige multipliers to a ‘Strata Prestige’ I think they’re back on the board. Add AA back as a permanent transfer partner and RUclips will be abuzz.
    Strata Premier back with protections. AA left Bilt. Maybe the stars are aligning. Maybe I’m a schmuck. 🤷🏼‍♂️

      I've long argued Citi could be the best if they wanted to. Let's see if they want to now

    Very new to Alaska, but I am eyeballing Barcelona and Budapest for next summer. Business class is about 50k-75k miles each way from Vegas.

    I got the impression Citi was building up to a combined relaunch of the Premier and the Prestige as legit competitors to Chase, but something in the background went wrong and they only gave us a halfhearted rollout of the Strata Premier. Maybe we will finally get the Strata Prestige this fall.

    Great video, RJ. I appreciate your balanced and measured takes on finance news. It's so nice to have you as a trusted source who doesn't over-sensationalize things.

    I’d switch to a mainly Amex setup if that Visa bs ever became a reality. Sounds fun on paper but realistically scam heaven and a horrible experience for customers. I prefer separate accounts and variety, makes you wonder if it’s their way to have folks hold less accounts or credit cards hmm.

      I don't know that the banks will be quick in adopting it. Banks could have made one card with all the benefits by now I'm sure.

    People typically use yachts outdoors. No surprise on why you don't have one. You found someone to mow the lawn? Or have we been over-characterizing your disdain of the outdoors by sticking to an offhand comment early on in the channel?
    Bio-metrics is silly. When a breach happens a change can occur on your card number. You can not change your bio-metrics.

    As usual, you hit this video out the park! One card would be great, but I’m not sure how reliable it will be. I would wait a year before I did it.. let them work out the bugs!

      Appreciate it. I bet it takes a few years for implementation and adoption. Banks don't see in a rush and I don't know how much the average person cares.

      @@RJFinancial Yeah it was a hard no for the USBAR even after a couple calls to recon, so I figured I'd chuck this app out and I guess Citi's algo liked my profile. No clue why they were so generous.

    You think Citi will do any revamp of their cash back cards? I have the Double Cash card, and I've thought about getting the Custom Cash card but I don't like that only one category gets 5% cash back. It would be nice if it turned into what the Chase Freedom Flex or Freedom Unlimited is.

    • @RJFinancial
      @RJFinancial  4 месяца назад +1

      I don't see it. I'd love if they brought back the dividend card, it was like the OG Freedom, except you could spend the yearly cap of $6k at 5x whenever you wanted, the categories did rotate tho. We love the custom cash because it fills in any gaps we may have. The answer is get multiples over time

    • @shawn.credit
      @shawn.credit 4 месяца назад

      Nice thing with the Custom Cash is it can be a monthly rotation for the 5% categories instead of quarterly like other 5% cards with rotating categories. Citi seem content with their layout plans for a higher tier Premier seem to be their last move for awhile.
