13:52 I know it is a long shot but I hope the Strata Select is something between a US Bank Cash+ and a BofA Customized cash, where you **Select** which category(s) you want
Once upon a time Citi had a card like that. Couldn't pick but you could spend all $6k for the year one go if you wanted. Opposed to it being spread out $1,500 per month like freedom
I hope the Strata Select card actually looks premium this round, I will product change in a heart beat. No way could I pull the cheap looking Strata Premier out on a regular basis my Custom Cash looks nicer!
I'll seek a retention offer and hold my SW card for another year. Good excuse to cite the upcoming changes. Free checked bags need to be at least one. The seating change doesn't bother me. In fact, I'd prefer being able to select seats beforehand.
Funny thing is i have both a personal and biz SouthWest card. I never have used the upgrades since we have family boarding😅 going to cancel the biz though not worth the 200 for me.
I transferred all my MR points to Hawaiian with a 20% boost. If the acquisition doesn't go through, we plan to travel to the islands fairly regularly, so no biggie.
Your take on Citi is spot on in my opinion. I wonder what they will do with the Select name? I was told my the rep at Citi that the Elite and a business card version would be coming out in late fall early winter because the Strata Premier has done well for them. Thanks again RJ!
@@RJFinancial the problem is the premier and custom cash have basically all categories covered. It's not like Amex where you get screwed on gas or chase where you get screwed on groceries
I been giving Chase $199 every year for a card I haven’t taken any advantages of yet since I very rarely fly Southwest. The Southwest Performance Business credit card. It is like paying Child Support 🥲. Still, I don’t cancel any of my beautiful premium travel cards. I am actually looking forward to select my seat when Southwest starts the new seat selection process. One thing I hate about Southwest is that they always have like 25 pre-boarders,.. before the business select type fare (A-1 to A-15)
I agree. I was one of the people who continued to complain to Southwest about this. I watched a person in the wheelchair walk all the way up the terminal to buy something and walk all the way back and sit back in the wheelchair. I also have pictures of it. A lot of people to get advantage of this. I’m glad it’s going away. so now when they get a ticket, they can pre-board right to their seat 😂
You forgot to mention the superpower of the Rewards+ which is 10% back on points redemptions. To me that's the one reason to hold the card along with the Premier.
RJ, Great Sunday video as always brother. Glad you could use the news that I sent I love speculation on what could be. I am sure the southwest cards are going to get revamped most likely. I wonder what citi will do with that strata select trademark. Hmm. 🤔 Hope you have a good week sir.
Hoping the Select has an online spend multiplayer (4x). It would make the card a destination card and not just an add-on to other Citi cards. It would also compliment the other citi cards nicely.
Awesome video RJ thanks! I was thinking about jumping in the Citi ecosystem with the AA Advantage card. How new account/inquiry sensitive is Citi? All Ficos 775 and up and im 5/24 2/12 2/6. Bravo again on the video. Cheers!
Cobranded's can be a bit easier plus if it's your first Citi card that also helps. I think they don't like to turn a way new customers as much. With those vitals, I say it's worth an app
They have good cards with good multipliers or options, easy to use and cash out TY points. Other issuers like chase and amex hide from strong earning multipliers, Citi doesn't. Premier likely isn't strong enough to beat an Autograph or popular enough to beat CSP but it's just as good
@@RJFinancial Thank you very much for the explanation. I am an Amex loyalist because of the gold card and the Hilton Surpass and how they work together, but I am always interested in new cards and strategies.

lol PC to another custom cash

Might as well keep it as it's only a survey for now. Chase doesn't often do retention deals but good hunting as always
@@RJFinancial I've read on forums and successful southwest retention offers. I'll update in a month.

Good move with the points boost, one thing Amex is good about
I hope this Strata card is something entirely new. I like the Rewards+ card the way it is, especially its 10% bonus points back feature.

Funny how a simple name change made it popular again
Thanks Sir! Can't wait for Thursdays video! Have a safe and blessed week! 👍
Working on it as we speak brother
if the everyday card gets refreshed rewards+ will get refreshed
It needs something. Likely the 5x stays, maybe rework multipliers to complement the other cards

@@kcihtred2Citi needs a card with an online spend category. They could also get into the mobile wallet game

Good point, thank you
Strata select could be a rebranding of the custom cash
Feel like that'd be weird to do as they still have the double cash in the line. Naming convention still fits with the cash back cards
