What a delightfully affable chap you are. If only you weren't 10,500 miles away I would call in and buy new strings. Keep up the good work.

Funny. I was researching carbon cellos and found Richard’s review. He’s 200 metres away from my home.

…and I can testify to his affability.

Would love to fly to Whitehorse and buy that Mezzo Forte, but I bought a Evoline Hybrid Mezzo Forte last week and I love it. The Evo model is around a third of the price and sound great.

Hello from USA. Bought my daughter a 7/8 jay Haide based on your reviews. Ideallly I wanted to get a carbon fiber cello for her since it’s more durable. But they don’t come in 7/8.

Maybe not 7/8, but carbon cellos are smaller than wood.

Maybe somewhat tangential but the 2 prominent carbon fiber cello makers (Mezzoforte and Luis and Clark) make 5 string cellos. This was a factor that swayed me to go with Luis and Clark.

L&C: better sound than Mezzo-Forte and five-string! Btw:
Do you have any suggestion for a better E-string than Thomastik-Infeld Spirocore? I‘ve tried Larsen E-String, but it is inferior.

CF sounds good, but the wood cello sounds much richer/vibrant/diverse to my ears.

the carbon fiber has it all except the wood sound. like you said

The wood cello sounds better than the carbon fiber cello, but the wood cello also sounds better than a wood cello. I've heard some A-list players playing some very thin and brittle-sounding cellos.
I notice that neither of those cellos appears to have a wolf-note suppressor. is it not necessary on these?

How much is the silver bam behind you? I want to buy one but they are expensive in the US

Hi there, what's the model name of the Mezzo Forte featured in your review? Many thanks and kindest regards

Probably the premium line. The evo and design line are both under 5000€
