You are so right maintenance by a technician is worth every penny, mine has been coming every year and checking everything, also cleaning and oiling etc, but this year he said since I keep my machine very clean, just to make appointments every two years, unless an issue comes up. This keeps my machine in tip top shape and it is a workhorse. Loved your frank opinion, your videos are alway great. Thanks.

It's so nice to have a person who actually knows what they are doing. I don't have a long arm but is very informative, I really enjoy your program

When I got my machine, I was given BLDR to set it up. Apparently no one wants to come out and set it up these days. Trying to do this via an app was a pain. The fact that there isn't a manual on how to maintain the machine is really frustrating as well. I've had to learn most of my machine via RUclips University. I'm so glad he got it set up and ready to go for you.

Wow! So awesome! I, unfortunately, do not have a Gammill but, I go through and make sure everything is clean, oiled if needed and definitely check for thread in places it should not be. Up until a month ago my hair was almost 39” long. So, I know what it is like to clean thread out from around any moving part. My vacuum cleaner knows about the long hair.😊 I would always wear my hair up.
Awesome coverage of places to review. I will do that later this afternoon because I am about to load a Queen-size quilt with washable wool batting. They live in a cold climate. Thank you for passing on so much knowledge and information. Truly, thank you.
P.S. Love the new pup. 🐶 And, I do like my longarm…❤

Lorenna, could you do a show about how you run your longarm business? ( I.e. what you do at intake, how you figure out what you’ll charge, how to manage your invoices, etc.) I’m starting a business at home and I’d love to learn what other home longarm business owners manage that part of the business.

I suspect my longarm was set up wrong by the delivery person after watching this! Great tips! Thank you. For this work horse to run for 14 years with the wrong setup, wow! Great quality!

I have two machines for this very reason. A day without long arming is very costly. Both machines were set up by my dealer, who is not allowed, by the manufacturers instructions, to sell their machines without being technically certified. They are two different brands of machines.

It’s a wonder you got any work done. A good technician is worth the money. I will pay whatever my technicians ask to repair my industrial machines.

Lorena, I learned a few things about my machine that I didn't know; like link could get in the needle place. I have a Gammill Opt Plus and it truly is a work horse. I have an IQ on my machine and I dearly love it. My stitch regulator doesn't work properly any more; in fact I can't even use the stitch regulator, but now I only do pantographs and the IQ does the quilting instead of me. Do you know what they did to fix your stitch regulator?

There is a stitch regulator on the vertical and horizontal.. that controls the stitch regulator.. I would call Gammill the technitions will face time you and they are really great

By any chance did the technician tell you the edge rider wheels should be replaced? I'm only curious because my technician convinced me to change my edge riders to Gammill wheels. I have an older machine and had bought the edge riders when they first came out. That was before computer machines came out.

Isn’t it concerning that nontechnical Gammill representatives did not set the machine up correctly, and it has ended up costing you?
Seems like Gammill should take some accountability here.
    Or maybe I misunderstood?

The great thing about Gammill it is such a great machine that even despite how it was set up it has been working for 14 years without problems.. I didn’t even know it wasn’t set up right. These machines are work horses. But i do think Gammill should have people putting the machines together that know how they work and are able to set up the machine correctly. But even when it wasn’t’ the machine still worked

My machine isn’t under warranty any more. It hasn’t been under warranty for years.
