This is really good advice just in general. In reference to the second one you suggested, I realized that I was making improvements during one tournament I has been making great strides on when I found myself keeping chilled-out after a harsh first round. I knew that I was losing, but I didn't fee pressured to do anything. I took a moment to take a few breaths and think about the match and I ended up clutching out the second and third games.
Joe, you forgot the fact that they analyse frame data. They know how long their attacks take to come out or come out on what frame plus the amount of ending lag the whole moveset has.
I love this kind of video. Im a mid level player, and wanna get to tournament level. I main Lucina, Dark Pit and Yoshi. I feel ive improved quite a lot recently, and this kind of information really helps :D
Thanks so much. I am a tourney player myself (I'm 14 btw) and it's really helpful to get advice like this. Although you made not believe it I get to Grand Finals at tourneys a lot. I've only ever won one event, but this advice will certainly help my Lucina at last never be defeated.
I don't think I'll ever switch my main, though, I do play my secondaries, a lot, mainly my first secondary, I'd say in terms of play time he's almost a co-main.
To all the people screaming "CLICKBAIT!!!!!!1" in the comments: He's right. These are things that the pros do that most people don't. Following this can and will help you become a pro; while I can't say this from personal experience (I'm pretty good, but not *that* good), I watch the pros constantly and this is very, very good advice. So don't discredit the video just because the title is perhaps a little clickbaity - there's nothing all that wrong with clickbait, and I wouldn't even call this clickbait as he says nothing in the title that misrepresents the contents of the video. TL;DR: First, it's good advice, and you should follow it, clickbait or no. Second, it's not clickbait because it doesn't misrepresent the video. Now shush.
i have a cousin and friend who think dodge rolling (B-side on the wii remote) is bad cause i dodge all of their moves with it. They don't use it, so they call me a "Dodge-roll spammer". Should i ignore them?
+BYDAPOWEROFTHE LEEMI, Yes, because Dodging too much isn't even that good, its easy to read and punish. Spot dodging and shielding are usually better in most cases although roll dodging does have its place. Also, they can perform it just as easily as you can since it doesn't take much input at all nor critical timing.
i would say im ok at smash, i got the 3ds demo yesterday for my first time playing and now i can beat level 9 cpu but only with villager and mega man. is that ok for a noob?
+Snefficus VII Fighting and practicing against AIs aren't really going to help one get better since players and cpus play radically differently. Training against cpus can build bad habits that other players could punish. It's also really impractical to fight against lvl 9 cpus since they practically cheat. To improve at smash, you best bet would be to fight against all different kinds of players to expose yourself to all different kinds of playstyles.
I gave up on smash last week. My controller is broken and can't find people and saltness in FG isn't funny anymore. Wow, I''ve put so much time on smash, I hope that when I get my new 3ds, I can keep it up!
The thing that I see that competitive people do (some in For Glory) is that they never stop moving. They're constantly jumping, air-dodging then running and it's really not fun to play against. It's just that I can't complain because literally every competitive person I've seen play does this and I don't know how.
Your second point is perfect for what happened to me today. I was in doubles and I had two stocks my partner had one, then died. They killed me almost instantly. I was Samus on Battlefeild (her best stage) so I just decided I would go for the win. I took out their guy with one stock (Ness) and Robin had two. I cleared that up after a edgeguard I would never go for. I was at 100%; Robin at 0% and I got the 0-death combo on her with Samus. It's amazing what can happen when you decide to go with all your might like what happened with me
This is the true list 1. Be picky about the stage 2. Pick characters just because of how fast they are 3. Only play for glory and never play for fun because items "get in the way" 4. Complain that items ruin skill and that players who use items win even though that is the point of smash bros. to be crazy and have anything happen. Not be based on skill
The first thing he said is me tbh. :/ I havent had a real main in a long time... Cloud feels perfect to me (Hes like the sword character I've always wanted) and when he was announced i said he was my last hope then 1 month later my most wanted character (Kamui/Corrin) was revealed and now im in a dilemma. :/ I only want to use one DLC character and other than that my OG main Dark Pit will be my pocket character.
As far as match ups go it also varies on your play style if your aggressive vs patient, etc. You should learn your match ups through expirence, least thats how I've done it lol
+LPMfor everFan I do that too. I try to get good as every character while still focusing on my really good characters. There are some I do have trouble using like Olimar, WFT, and Robin.
I'm glad you think that the protagonist from one of my favorite games and a character I picked up because they were fun, neither of which are high tier, are the most annoying. Let me tell you, it NEVER gets old, having people complain about the characters I play. At least I don't play Sheik, but nobody cares about that.
I'm I the only one who laugh when losing badly? xD I don't know whats the point of raging (beside when there's huge lag online). Also I tend to learn new character for not getting bored at playing smash and it help me to understand what the player want to do as that character better. (In some cases like Robin and Duck Hunt (mostly Duck Hunt) I get good enough with them to make them tournament viable but still retain my main Roy Koopa)
+Tsuku Kisaragi (Tsukuokami) I want to choose a main and I like Zelda, but I have trouble since all I see are ZSS and Sheiks, so I go to a character like MewTwo or Marth and then I like how they play and so I wanna go main them, but then I want to play Zelda, and there's a constant circle between those 3. what do i do?
when I first got smash 4. I went online and got angry WAY TO EASY. but I learned for thos time and I can really stay come. I will get a little salty if they keep doing things that I hate. spamming(link and other ranged fighters) spam rolls(use to do it) and taunt when I SD(they think they are so good) but yea I am really control my anger now thanks to smash 4
You should do a video on baiting, conditioning, optimal punish, and counter attacking.
I agree
I also agree
Agree
Agreed.
+drad mclad considering the fact he idd not asnwer to that comment he's probably working on such a video already :v
The second one makes a lot of sense. But for me that is not what I think. I think ''This guy is better than me... So I have to do better than him''
AYYYEEE that fire emblem music tho
Awakening OP
+yackamajez
I thought I was the only one to notice lol
I was thinking the EXACT same thing.

Bro Thumbs up! Just because any big youtuber talking about this would throw a lot of filler in the video just to extend it past 10 minutes. Thank you!
I love this kind of video. Im a mid level player, and wanna get to tournament level. I main Lucina, Dark Pit and Yoshi. I feel ive improved quite a lot recently, and this kind of information really helps :D
I improved a lot by watching Alpharad
Thanks so much. I am a tourney player myself (I'm 14 btw) and it's really helpful to get advice like this. Although you made not believe it I get to Grand Finals at tourneys a lot. I've only ever won one event, but this advice will certainly help my Lucina at last never be defeated.
Incorrect. You are 16. Kappa
I don't think I'll ever switch my main, though, I do play my secondaries, a lot, mainly my first secondary, I'd say in terms of play time he's almost a co-main.
I read 4 things smash pros don't want you to know.
"SHOCKING SECRETS REVEALED! SMASH PROS HATE HIM!"
+Guissepe Vanicci You're actually the best.
thanks, im here all week
Didn't come back for 6 Months :C
Fxck outta here nxgga fr same

Awesome video! reason number 2 is especially true:)
Joe it would be cool if you make a video of yourself fighting other people
4 easy things pros do that u dont.
1. A-Cancel
2. DI
3. Adapt
4. Tech
That simple
I do all those things, but I'm not a pro
I do all that except a-cancel
TheMAR3oner me to
Bounty145
DI?
Bounty145 Perfect pivoting

What if i do all of those thing
What is your main and can you do a for glory video with your main
where is the click bait. he goes over what the title says
I have stuck with Toon Link since the game came out, Is that bad? cause I don't get bored of him.
i would say im ok at smash, i got the 3ds demo yesterday for my first time playing and now i can beat level 9 cpu but only with villager and mega man. is that ok for a noob?
+Snefficus VII Yeah, at least you can beat Level 9s.
Unless you use items.
RaiOmega no i dont use items.
Snefficus VII OK, then you're doing great so far :)
+Snefficus VII Fighting and practicing against AIs aren't really going to help one get better since players and cpus play radically differently. vgmaster20000 i dont have the full version yet so thats the best i can do :/ but when i do i will definitely do that
I gave up on smash last week. My controller is broken and can't find people and saltness in FG isn't funny anymore. Wow, I''ve put so much time on smash, I hope that when I get my new 3ds, I can keep it up!

There is simple reason for that, moving makes you harder to hit. Just try to consecrate.

+MrSonicspeed59 um no
+MrSonicspeed59 Which is why they nerf and buff characters to make it more even???
Lmao! Pros don't play For Glory, though. For Glory is where the wanna-be pros go. True pros, such as Zero, go to Smash tournaments.
The first thing he said is me tbh. :/ I havent had a real main in a long time...

try to learn lucas! he's pretty good i guess
+Hazel Ninja
Pick Cloud if you want a powerhouse, pick Corrin for op sidesmash and counter.
Kevaughn West thats bayonetta
That you don't. SHOTS FIRED
As far as match ups go it also varies on your play style if your aggressive vs patient, etc. You should learn your match ups through expirence, least thats how I've done it lol
I hear fire emblem awakening music in the background
Do a Zelda matchup guide! Please.
yeeeessss!!!
I have mained ganon sence a few months after the game came out
Hm game is out for 1 year ... already mained everyone between Mario and Sonic xD
Not bad
+LPMfor everFan I do that too. I try to get good as every character while still focusing on my really good characters. There are some I do have trouble using like Olimar, WFT, and Robin.
No you didnt lmfao, but if you did you probably fucking suck
+FireEmblemFan - talking to you or not. Is ok too be bad. You don't need to be good to enjoy the game. I too am a casual competitive player.
***** me too. I have a rate of 54%. Pretty bad but not too shaby.
I main Lucina by the way. Great for casual and competitive
no items? Isn't that the main thing that makes smash different from other fighting games?
Zion Lewis But it takes away from the skill of the game.
I do number 1 with current main as Falco and my 7 month main as dark pit
Why is the title and description written in crappy french?
Hey…HOW MUCH WOOD CAN A WOODCHUCK CHUCK IF A WOODCHUCK COULD CHUCK WOD
DANG IT I MENT wood
A wood chuck would chuck all the wood he could chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood.
But the question is HOW MUCH WOOD CAN A WOODCHUCK CHUCK IF THE WOODCHUCK HAD SOME CHUCKING WOOD TO CHUCK
RIP Hoo-Hah combo.
Number 1 win tournaments
The video title in spanish (Im Spanish) should be something like "4 cosas de Smash Bros que los profesionales hacen y usted no"
I'll have you know I've stuck with Toon Link since the release of SSBU, other than the first week of dabbling with Jigglypuff.
2 of the most annoying character I see...
I'm glad you think that the protagonist from one of my favorite games and a character I picked up because they were fun, neither of which are high tier, are the most annoying. Let me tell you, it NEVER gets old, having people complain about the characters I play. At least I don't play Sheik, but nobody cares about that.
Phillip Harbindinger annoy can be good. I'm picking up Link and he's pretty fun
Buy my merch
+An Average Pichu Same! :D
I'm I the only one who laugh when losing badly? xD I don't know whats the point of raging (beside when there's huge lag online). Laughter is the way to keep your chill. I do that too, so I won't get angry and do something stupid.
In melee it would be like 11 million things
When you do all those things.
I do all of these things, I feel lied to
I hate watching people change mains oftenly they're killing their skill.
+Tsuku Kisaragi (Tsukuokami)
I want to choose a main and I like Zelda, but I have trouble since all I see are ZSS and Sheiks, so I go to a character like MewTwo or Marth and then I like how they play and so I wanna go main them, but then I want to play Zelda, and there's a constant circle between those 3.
what do i do?
+AlmightyPotato Main all three of them. I'm actively maining 4 characters.
2:07 Really.....that didn't kill?
Di is mlg
Are you joeking?
when I first got smash 4. I went online and got angry WAY TO EASY. but I learned for thos time and I can really stay come. I will get a little salty if they keep doing things that I hate. spamming(link and other ranged fighters) spam rolls(use to do it) and taunt when I SD(they think they are so good) but yea I am really control my anger now thanks to smash 4
if someone sd's I will too.
Im rubbish but I won when I was at 100 % one stock and the other person was 0 % two stocks
I'm one of those mid class but I'm closer to pro than low class player
I will always be a casual
Because I like to use many characters
I'm not a pro, but I do those things.
i dont have a main... i play all the characters
Imagine if a pro watched this
Number 1: win
It's not clickbait; it's just useless advice that any real smash player should already know just by playing :/
Don't listen to this guy, he doesn't know what he's talking about.
But but I have 12 mains :(
joke?
Tharex No.
+Sam Pickering How does one have twelve mains?
SinApseMusic Everytime I go on Smash Bros I rotate around my mains. I really enjoy and am reasonably good at using them all.
+Sam Pickering That's respectable, only having one main is really only helpful if you're playing competitively
Why this Title ?The French don't understand this video
+Aubin Levitre The French need to learn some fucking English then.
Aubin Levitre because it's the universal language. Almost everyone speaks it.
+Abtin (AAker) eurk ,I have just a gamer language .
The click bait in this title...... wtf
Pick DEDEDEE
things pros do: they win lol
i do all this am i pro? xD
i'm a pro...
wowwwwwwww
Win

+The ender king
Notice how they still haven't replied back yet
CLICKBAIT
Cuz I don't care about Pewds and It was an honest joke
The title, but no hate just a humorous comment
I understand it's a joke but I'm honestly confused on how the title is click bait I'm mean it's says what he talks about
dude, the spanish title and description are horrible
Umm I actually do the 1st and 4th one, and I am not a pro. I'm just some random guy who plays for glory a whole lot.
Win
