Thanks! I lost all my PBS channels and your video enabled me to very quickly get to re-scanning all my channels so I could watch a movie that I wanted to see!
I'm so excited! I spent a loooong time on my own - I thought I was going to have to return my antenna because it wouldn't work with the Roku. And, you fixed it within 10 min. Thank you for posting this!!!!
Shortcut to getting into that scan menu: Highlight the Live TV icon on the home screen (but don't press it). Press the * button, and scan channels will be in that menu. Roku's tuner is annoying in that we can't manually add channels, makes using it with an antenna rotator useless. Good video.
OK so I banged my head off the wall a few times. And then I found your website. Thank you my bruised head hurts but my soul is better now that I've scanned my TV. Have a magnificent afternoon evening and morning wherever you are. Push it forward thank you
Dude thank u!!! My wife box broke so for 2 days I won’t have Wi-Fi so I had antenna hooked up but never scanned the channels.. looked all over the setting and menus couldn’t find it… so 2 hours later I’m scanning the channels thanx to u!!! Thanx man really helped
I bought a TCL 50" a few months ago. 1 problem I've found with all the roku TV's I have ....When I do the "TV antenna" scan it also rescans ALL the streaming channels too. Every time I've done an "TV antenna" scan ...it rescans everything and erases all my previous fav/hide selections. So I have to go through all the channels and hide or favorite them ....again ....ugh!! Am I missing something here? Why does it rescan the streaming channels when doing the TV antenna?
Thanks so much for this video! I was having the hardest time yesterday finding how to scan on my Hisense Roku, being I just disconnected my cable & decided to go local. All Google searches were not explanatory, while yours was just what I needed. Side note: I disconnected my cable (something I’ve considered for at least 5 years), bc the cable channels have got more dumbed down than ever. Playing the same show on repeat all day. I cont to keep cable so long just for History/travel channel kinda shows but that has even got bad. I found myself drifting to MeTV type channels which were already on local. While I only paid 12.50 a month for local cable (due to apt agreement) I just wanted to make a statement of how disgusted I was to have 100+ channels & barely anything interesting
My TCL TV only has one place to connect the coax cable. We have purchased an external antenna and have followed you instructions. We also have cable ( internet only ) in hopes of cutting the cord if the antenna works out well. Is it possible to put a splitter in so both the antenna and cable company coax ?
Thanks, that was very good. But I have a question about the remote. Why is it that the remote doesn't have any numerical keys on it? Without the key pad, it looks like a person will have to scroll through channels until I get to the one that I want... is that true.
At first I thought it was terrible not having the numbers on the remote, but ended up getting used to it and I find it's a really user-friendly interface. And highly recommended for people who are not very tech-savvy
My antenna installer stated the same thing, why no number buttons to press to go directly to a channel number. I guess they just wanted to keep the remote compact.
Great Video! But, Do they make An Additional Romote for my HIsence 43H4030F1 tv that will allow me to Punch in the Channels instead of Scrolling forever? and Channel Return? Thanks so much
Robbie, I did as you said, got my OTA channels all scanned in just fine, but when I click on “Live TV” on the home screen, all that are listed are the Roku live tv channels. How do I include my antenna channels on Live TV on the home screen?
Go to Settings/ Power options.. Put settings to live channels so when you turn on the TV the live channels will come on the guide most the time... I all so save an antenna channel in the favorites.. Seems to help find antenna ones.. This might be your fix...I got sick of doing antenna channel scans and TCL erase my favorites. The home button still gets original menu.
Thank you so much I had to order a new remote because my other one was not working and I couldn't know how to add the channel so if this was so simple and easy thank you so much
I do this same process because my mom only watches like 3 channels. The thing is after I "find channels", all is well. I bookmark/favorite them so they can be accessed even faster. The problem I have is after I turn off the TV. The channels I my TV found, including those that my mom likes, they erase. So I literally have to search for the channels every time I want to watch them. It's very frustrating, why won't they stay? They're simple tv channels that anyone should have access to.
I had a hard time finding them. THANK YOU ROKU. I ended up pressing the left key on my remote.> Resents and clicked on my over the air channels and got it back.
Omg You tube is amazing I have been trying to find away to get local channels seema like forever now I have 34 thank thanks to you sir your awesome 👌 Appreciate u so much I'm definitely subscribing to your videos.
So I couldn't figure out why oh why I could not find these features. First of all, thank you for the video. Secondly I finally figured out that I must have a ROKU TV to scan my external antenna. I guess I will just have to switch my input back and forth from antenna to ROKU. I do find it weird that I cannot find a channel that is basically everywhere and that is MeTv and The CW. CW comes up something totally different and MeTv is not there at all. Weird that these channels are open air, but you cannot scan for them through roku live.
Can you please explain to me how to go back to your satellite channels e.g MBC Action or Max from the Home Screen of your roku tv. Please I really need help
No you're plugging in antenna run some RG6 coax cable to an antenna outside for best results. If you're unable to have an outdoor antenna which will work a lot better you can still use an indoor antenna and get a few channels probably. And then put the antenna close to the window would be a good idea
Robbie I have a TCL ROKU TV, I dislike it a lot! I am hooked to a cable in a park and get 105 channels! I do not get a cable box! How can I set up a guide to view channels so I can access the quicker or put the channel number in to go to a channel whose number I know? Thanks Jim A new subscriber!
How do you just watch the antenna channels. Where do you go? Is it just under live tv tab with all the other channels? I did the channel scan and it found channels but it doesn’t come up showing the channels it found like in all this videos.
I asked advice from Epic Paul about this but he didn't give me a satisfactory answer. My Roku doesn't have an Antenna TV selection on the home page like his does. Just Cable TV, HDMI 2, HDMI 3 (ARC), AV, and Live TV. And nowhere else does it say "Antenna TV" when you click Rename and it gives you a whole slew of selections. I tried scanning for channels a bunch of times but I only ever got 2, and they're not the greatest channels, just a religious channel and one that shows old classic sitcoms from the '60s, '70s and '80s in the afternoon. And that's strange because I live in a huge city, Toronto, not somewhere out in the country. Can you tell me how I can get more channels on my Roku? In other videos they always end up with dozens or scores. I only get 2. I would like to get Global or NBC so I can watch _SNL,_ and AMC so I can watch _The Walking Dead._
Hi sir, I brought this TV from Uk to my country in Romania, and after I press on ‘Search channels’ it says “No channels found”. I’ve seen on youtube that some people bought antenna. Should I buy any antenna? If yes, which type? Thx sir

On live tv I can see all of the channels but its not displaying what program is playing. It displays "no information". This only started happening a couple of weeks ago.
I don't have that. All I have closest is Dish TV. TCL 43" Roku TV. Edit - solution is to factory reset the TV and it will reset and search for cable TV and antenna channels.
