Hazel is what Chloe should have been.
Hey, I actually enjoyed Chloe
@@thegooneygamerboy5302 really, did you.
@@thegooneygamerboy5302You like Funkos, so you're not reliable for an opinion.
Interestingly I would've been interesting if Hazel is the co-kid in the final seasons...although let's be fair that co-kid concept was just really unnecessary IMO.
Not saying you can’t like Chloe, but what is there to like about her? She so much of a self insert
The best part is when she used one of her wishes to free all of the monsters in the underground!
Ah yes, that was a fairly odd undertale, if I say so myself.
Omg I loved that part too!!
Welcome to the ground
damn she has no patience she got no resolve she will slaughter screw this dialogue
FNAF reference?
(It’s a joke)
the reason why all the wishes are "safe" is because after Timmy. the fairy rule book was extended by twice the number of pages with new rules.
rule number 500: no wishing for eternal crhistmas
rule number 823: no editing the rule book with a green crayon
Timmy is such a based individual. Able to reform the entire Fairy system with all the chaos he made lol
Rule number 5003: Don't wish people turning into what they're dressed as during Halloween or any other circumstances.
Rule 10000000: Don't wish any fictional character or imaginary friend being brought to life.
Rule 2967464263: Don't wish for men and women to be segregated into two separate places with a giant wall.
Rule I lost count: Don't change any event if you happen to travel to the past.
Mfer got the strongest plot armour he got away with everything lol
Cosmo and Wanda being disguised as fidget toys is honestly really clever. It's pretty fitting for Hazel's personality, it makes perfect sense for her to have something to help with her anxiety. That's a cool way to have Cosmo and Wanda's disguise reflect the godchild's personality.
And it’s like they remember da rulez on how that cosmo and wanda are not supposed to be seen by other people out in the open.

Cosmo and Wanda having met Obama is probably the funniest thing this show will ever make
We need the context of that moment, what were they doing there? Why Obama? How? Doesnt that break the rules? Is there an exception to USA presidents? Is it because he is black? Were they the anger translators at some point?
@@frank8917honestly the lack of explanation makes it funnier

If they wanted a *chocolate colored* president, they Just could had made a generic one with said color and call it a day.

It’s interesting that Butch is not involved with this show despite being an executive producer. Heck it’s written by one of the Infinity Train writers.

I don't know if this could technical be a reference to undertale, after all it's different people who are making the show so I wouldn't say it's far fetch for them to be a fan or know of Toby Fox.
Probably the best thing about this show is how the writers chose to give Cosmo a few of his braincells back. After the pilot, I said, "Yes, that's the Cosmo I remember."
I agree though, the voice actor could've lowered his voice a little.
And also Wanda is more fun loving too and not annoyed by everything Cosmo does or says . They actually seem to enjoy each other’s company. I’m also glad they finally dropped the “nagging wife” trope Butch was trying to make Wanda into for so long.
Fairly Odder kind of already did that, they greatly toned downed his jerk-assness that he had in the last few seasons of the original show.
@@myaedelmanWell that’s the point, the nagging wife trope existed as well as the ignorant dumb husband trope, just look at Family Guy, The Simpsons, and every other animated sitcom with a dad that’s slightly ripping off both Family Guy and the Simpsons 😂

@@toorurururu5911 Honestly, I love that as a cannon future, but I'd like to see one more Special/ Finale where we actually get a sentimental and meaningful parting between Timmy and his Fairies.
Even if there might not be that much hope for this, one thing is for sure: at least Timmy Turner has FINALLY moved on and Cosmo & Wanda are FINALLY with a NEW fairy godkid.
I never understood why everyone always got so upset about that. A lot of mentions of how they’d have kids before and after Timmy.
It's almost like they want to forget Timmy's Secret Wish
Which is the right thing to do
EXCELLENT WORK. LS MARK FAIRY ODD PARENTS
THANK GOD.
That’s the weird part though. Let’s be real Out of all the kids cosmo and Wanda had Timmy was probably the closest relationship they ever had with a kid. Them being retired after timmy makes a 1000% sense because it would be weird to really even do another kid after Timmy and it’s quite frankly weird to see cosmo and Wanda with another kid. They really should of just used a new fairy godparents or show us Poof all grown up being a fairy godparent.
This show is actually GOOD! It’s refreshing seeing Cosmo and Wanda have a different dynamic with another kid. I also love how Cosmo and Wanda’s secret identities aren’t any kind of pet, but next door human neighbors. I hope they learn from their mistakes from Season 6 on up.
One thing I also liked and at least it's from the first episode cosmo and wanda are presented as "two halves of a whole idiot". That's where theor dynamic as a couple thrived
@@darwinbowman8512 I liked that too! They felt like classic Cosmo and Wanda.

I genuinely don't understand why having a black character in a REBOOT is considered "woke" now
Neither do I!
Just feels like people wanna claim everything is bad and woke when there should just be allowed to be black characters
Because they are race swapping a white character out for a minority to be "inclusive" instead of making something new they just replace popular white characters
@@jonathonthezombieHow is this show an example of what you're claiming?
It’s because they’re getting ever closer to saying the quiet part out loud
It's because the word "woke" has been co-opted by [right-wing] reactionaries, and has become a politically correct umbrella term for "Things I don't like."
So if they're saying that a black character getting a lead role (or even just a supporting role) in something is "woke", you can decipher what they *really* want to complain about, but are too cowardly to do so. Rinse and repeat with female and LBGTQ+ characters too.
THE PAPER MARIO REFRENCE OUT OF NOWHERE????
I think it was meant to be a parody of people who got mad at the most recent Paper Mario game going "woke" over a character named Vivian
Hence the "Woke Destroyer" title
Hello fellow Beldam (and subsequent Shadow Sisters) Fan
@@shinysoda6 Which btw makes no sense as the original Paper Mario TTYD english translation messed up Vivians character. Apperently she was always a trans fem character

@@ironicugandan5826 It is more faithful. That's what makes the backlash so funny.
Something I always wanted them to do was in a sequel series for Timmy to grow up to be a teacher to try to be better than Crocker and actually uplift his students. They could even have a similar cat and mouse game of adult Timmy being suspicious of Hazel having farie's and almost remember cosmo amd wanda
I actually really like that idea ngl, basically have him be Reverse Crocker
That is a very clever and suprisingly wholesome idea for Timmy as a character. He can be an "antagonist" but not a bad guy of sorts
It would be really fun if Timmys marks got way better as soon as he got a teacher actually interested in teaching, instead of hunting fairies.
I think they should've stepped away from Timmy many seasons ago. And make it a gimmick to get a new kid every other season. Would keep the series fresh.
Eh kind of disagree since the the fairies don't take nearly enough main stage to warrant such a change as in they are far to dependent on needing a kid story wise
t would certainly avoid making timmy's life jsut ungodly miserable forever
Every two seasons give or take.
I actually wouldn't mind a FOP spinoff done kind of in the vein of Are You Afraid Of The Dark or Goosebumps, where the episodes all have different plots and characters save for the occasional returning character. Not horror though, of course. Every episode is a different kid with different fairies, and occasionally they might feature the same fairies with a new kid, or an older now fairy-less kid might appear as a supporting character.
Since the Fairly OddParents never dies, it would be interesting if Fairly OddParents grows up with their audience.
They should make it similar to Dr. who .. every 4-6 season the fairies are getting an new kid. ... New kids, new life, new problems, new generation .. just make cosmo and wanda the main cast .. maybe some supporting recurring characters, consistant lore .. all of this can be done by very good writers.
good idea I like it
You would think that for a show as popular as Dr. Who we would get more shows that follow that formula
Yep. Like that idea too.👍
Maybe not the best example considering the recent drop in viewership on doctor who...

Timmy being the bus driver makes way more sense than the channel chaser’s ending tbh. He was a wholly unremarkable if not mediocre person who lived in a fantasy world until they had to leave. I feel like him settling into that job would make sense
The creators of this reboot confirmed: THIS IS NOT TIMMY TUNRER.
@@darwinbowman8512they know that, they were saying it made more sense
You completely missed the point of Channel Chaser's ending then
I get that and while I agree, if the bus driver were Timmy, my god would that design be doing him dirty

the art style for this reboot is so charming!! definitely not something i was expecting from a FOP series, but i’m here here it
Right? Like the animation is actually nice to look at and I’m surprised more people aren’t talking about it.
Yeah, it looks really cute! I love the colors and the lighting. Looks awesome
Yup it's quite nice
It's probably the most surface-level character design aspect to point out, but I do like how Hazel's teeth design are in juxtaposition of Timmy's (where Timmy has buckteeth, Hazel has a gap in hers).
Yeah me too! Nice parallel
The first time I saw Hazel I couldn’t stop thinking about how she has the same shirt as Frisk from Undertale
Literally, that's what some people are saying too🤣
Let's not forget that stripped shirts are indeed common but the fact that they chose to keep the exact same colors is both bazaar and awesome! Of course assuming if this is indeed a reference to Toby Fox.

@@mittag983 I feel two ways about it, but like even if her parents try helping/loving her, it might not be enough with her own issues. Just because something is good doesn't necessarily mean everything is good. But at the same time, FoP really did set up that most kids have unforunate lives, however, in the hall of previous kids before timmy, there could be many types of kids in their care and we don't know how they even arrange such stuff.

It's genuinely a miracle that this isn't complete shit
Cartoon Logic: Looks like Timmy from one of the first episodes
Creators: That guy who looks exactly like an adult Timmy from the original series is NOT Timmy
I feel like they did intend for that to be Timmy, but then they probably got a little scared about the OG fans getting mad Timmy didn’t get his happy ending like in Channel Chasers; so they tried to say that the character was only a reference to Timmy. Basically they wanted to have their cake and eat it too.
I mean we seen people who look like timmy in the show. Prime example kimmy the girl sanjay was dating so I can believed that the bus driver was just a easter egg. Also I hate how people regarded the channel chasers ending has the good one when being he litt became his parents neglecting his kids leaving them with a a horrible babysitter.
If the bus driver was Timmy, maybe he could've been like a 2020s version of Auto from The Simpsons
I don't even know why people think it's a "bad" ending for Timmy? He's working on a movie for his favorite comic book character. Is it just because he's fat and balding?? I think Timmy growing up to be a normal happy guy is like....the best option.

The animation looks amazing ngl. Though as you said its a little too tame and calm for a kid with fairies who can grant all their wishes.
I agree. If this show gets special episodes and movies, I think then they’ll amp up the wish wackiness. Perhaps they just want to see how people react to this reboot before REALLY getting into it. Probably taking tentative steps.
I didn’t have that much hope but it was quite fun and I enjoyed it.
I actually sat there like "damn that was it?" was honestly hoping for more than the three episodes that aired atm. the animation is so gorgeous. Nick finally has something new they should be proud of, even if it's rehashed old IP. Good job, Nicktoons.
Same. I was watching it and was like wow this actually fun to watch.
Same, I was skeptical but it was very sweet.
It's hilarious how "woke" has become a codename for anything associated with minorities.
Pretty much
"why make it CG?" 2d artists have more unions
seems a little stange to have all these timmy refrences, but not just do the obvious, timmy has two kids in the future, seems like an easy include to involve timmy to have them be schoolmates.
I think this reboot was really sweet and I really like Hazel as the new protagonist.
The wishes really seem a lot more tame than they were in the original but I think it makes sense since Hazel seems like an anxious child who wouldnt immediately go overboard with what she asks for as Timmy did
Considering that Remy had a Fairy Godparent, I think it makes sense for Hazel to be given one. The real question is why Tootie never got one...
I'm pretty sure the episode where Timmy lets Tootie have his fairies temporarily explains it. She almost reveals that she had fairies near the end of the episode and would've revealed them had Timmy not interefered
And since Da Rules say that revealing your fairies leads you to losing them and all your memories, who's to say that she may have had fairies before but lost them because of exactly that
But that's just a theory- I shall see myself out
It’s also too bad that the final time tootie was plot relevant in the animated series she was beating the ever-loving shit out of timmy with a fucking oar just to give him cpr. And giving how infamous that episode was, it makes sense why the stopped using tootie altogether.
I honestly love the art style it reminds me so much of the Peanuts movie but compared to Timmy the girl doesn't seem as miserable as he does
it's peanuts movie but done badly
I think the idea is that she's starting out making tamer wishes because she's a pretty timid person. She just made two friends after her brother went to college and she's subconsiously scared of losing them so she's doing her best to make risk free wishes.
Lets just hope this show doesnt get deleted from the earth like the rugrats reboot and the live action odd parents show
What happened to the Rugrats reboot? I know that live action FOP show went to crap, but the Rugrats show kinda just fell into obscurity, nobody talked about it.
Nah those shows were mid at best
If only they could delete the live action Loud House series and movies. Those definitely deserve it.
@@lutherholayeahme7449 Yeah they were mid (well fairly odder was more terrible than mid) but the people that worked on those shows don't deserve to have their work become lost media because companies are greedy and don't wanna pay them residuals
Honestly I would love a shift in tone where cosmo and wanda spend a season or two with a kid with problems that therefore needs fairies grows and learns and then cosmo and wanda move on to another godchild, I would love if we could discuss our favorite god kids and storylines similar to how we talk about jojo or dragon age protagonists
I don’t mind this kind of race swapping because it’s not really race swapping. They’re not changing Timmy’s race, they’re making a whole new character. They’re doing what Spider-verse does with Miles Morales.
Yeah I agree. It's an entire new character in a series that lends itself to the possibilities of other main characters. It's not hard to believe that they'd move on to a new God kid since Timmy has grown up and the race wouldn't matter so it's not like Velma
The fact that people still complain about it too and call it “woke” because its not a white protagonist is unfortunate. This looks ok. Its not my cup of tea but it doesn’t look like shit. This is the type of race representation im 100% fine with because like you said, its not a race swap. Its an entirely new character
The only opinion on this reboot I can trust.
I do hope we see older Timmy whose just a semi well adjusted adult.
As a black man who’s researched as far as he could, The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish is the only GOOD black kids show now.
The really sad part is that there’s barely any good black kids shows running right now. I’m sure there’s some I haven’t heard of. But then you look at shows from the big three networks. Young Dylan sucks, That Girl Lay Lay sucks, even The Proud Family reboot sucks now. All three networks have been sabotaging practically every show that isn’t a spin-off, sequel series or reboot for like the past 5 years now. This unfortunately includes Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. And who knows if that show will get a third season.
Raven’s Home, Craig of the Creek and the latter show’s spin-off, Jessica’s Big Little World are all over now. Iyanu: Child of Wonder which we’ve waited for almost two years was just announced to be delayed to 2025!
The best we can hope for is that A New Wish stays consistent with their quality moving forward. A modern Fairly OddParents show. Who’d have thunk?

Having seen four episodes so far, I say this show is pretty good so far. The wishes and conflict are rather tame so far, but I do believe they'll go all out as the season goes on. I'm hoping this does get a second season as I do see a lot of potential in it. Really hopeful this does well in ratings. I already adore Hazel so much!
The fact that, even with its flaws (I do agree with you in a good number of those), this reboot turned out as good as it did is downright INCREDIBLE considering how low the franchise sunk.

@@animezilla4486Yeah, I think using Timmy as a bassline for what deems a kid worthy of having fairies is kinda meh. Like, his life sucked, no denying that, he definitely need Cosmo and Wanda. But I don't think a kid needs to be as miserable as him to get fairies.
Take Remy Bucksaplenty for example. He's rich, popular, and can get almost anything he wants. His life is pretty comfy, all things considered. Yet, he still gets to have Wandisimo, due to him being sad that his parents don't do anything with him, leaving him with money and nothing else.

4:02 That joke caught me completely off guard
Honestly, a reboot of a show that's literally decades old is about the perfect analogy for current Nickelodeon. Not a single fresh idea do they have. It's all the sponge or other franchises they've had and are successful. Lather rinse repeat.
Willing to guess that they're keeping it simple for this first season because they want to prove that they can do Fairy OddParents justice to the existing fanbase - after the last few seasons of the OG show, the live action movies, and the previous reboot were such massive downgrades, I definitely understand the pressure of wanting to do the IP correctly.
Of course, budget is also a contributing factor, so hopefully if this show continues, Nick gives them a higher budget to do grander things and elevate it to the standards of the OG show in its prime.

Every modern reboot really does have a joke about drones

Frisk is a magnet for fairly odd ecounters
Honestly, I watched a bit of this and i honestly think it’s good like it doesn’t heavily rely on making constant references to the old show for nostalgic reasons like with fairly odder, but I think this reboot does better, it’s something that can be enjoyed by new and older audiences
The thought of Timmy losing Cosmo and Wanda, even when he turns 18, is really sad. Hopefully by that point Timmy was well adjisted enought to not really need them.

I think and hope a lot kids will be able to fall in love with the series through A New Wish. Surprisingly good so far especially Cosmo and Wanda returning to their roots.
Conspiracy theory: last I heard, 3-D animation still isn't unionized. The reason for going 3-D might just have been because they can get away with paying the animators less...
I think it'd be cool if the wishes got more crazy as Hazel settled in and got more confident with it all. She seems like a more anxious character, to which I can relate, so i'd appreciate it if the intro was established as her testing the waters.
I imagine the team is trying to be very careful while also trying to draw in an audience on a shit budget. Obviously tons of effort went into this. Doing a very quick google search, there were some interviews saying they were on an extremely tight budget. So it seems you had a team that REALLY wanted to put a good show out there, but they had very little money to do so. I imagine skipping the rules was because they know you know and want to get to the content. The budget probably effected the props as well considering the interview mentioned that they were counting each prop and closing watching the budget when they made them. I think the goal is to put something both old fans and new can enjoy and hopefully getting enough traction for future seasons to be picked up instead of being a one and done deal. Maybe they will get a bigger budget in the future if this does well and we can do more bigger and exciting things with the story. I think this show has great potential, and it feels like there are some old fans now writing for it, so I wish them the best. Better than the hot shit we've had for basically the past 10-15 years now.
Glad to hear you enjoy the show so far Mark! I absolutely love the idea of Hazel going into the castle and us seeing Timmy again that way! I also hope we get to see more characters from the og such as the anti fairies, pixies, Norm etc.
No. Kids don't dab anymore.
Fidgets are very popular though
I can’t be the only one who’s really not been digging the dimmer lighting in almost every recent 3D-CGI show… In daytime there’s just too many buildings where it feels like no lights are on and any/all lighting feels like it’s coming exclusively from the daylight passing through windows (the most egregious examples being Camp Coral and the Rugrats reboot)
7:41 are those not like.. keychains?
it’s pretty decent looking tbh
i'll be honest, i love the "2D animation rendered with CG" style. it looks gorgeous.
Honestly, Being CG was probably an economical choice. I know that seems wild considering some of the problems you've complained about particularly with the limitations of what they can model, but the other side of that coin is that once you have the models they are infinitely reusable (such as the fidget toys). Also, You could have certain objects the new kid just has and retexture them to cosmo and wanda-ify them, meaning there's a lot more potential for them to explore there.
2D Frame by frame animation is quite expensive and time consuming to produce. It was then and it is still a major hassle now.
WARNING: I AM EXPLAINING THE DECISION, NOT JUSTIFYING IT HERE.
In the eyes of a television network, making a show with reusable assets is a no brainer because even though aquiring those assets can be expensive, the ability to reuse them over and over again like the locations and props means new assets will essentially pay for themselves.
You say that "2D has no limit other than what you can draw" But also forget that the thief and the cobbler still isn't done after 70 years of production hell. Budget and time constraints especially for television animation apply.
This decision was probably made to try and re use the shaders and texture stuff they created for Camp Koral with an appealing fusion of 2D and 3D animation, Which
FROM A PURELY BUSINESS AND NOT ARTISTIC PERSPECTIVE
Was an incredibly smart move.
Crazy to think that in 2024, they still air shows on TV first instead of just dumping it straight online sometimes. I guess that keeps the piracy at bay for all of five seconds
I can’t wait for Hazel to have to share her fairies with a kid named David and get a talking cat named Princess
10:52 I thought you edited that in until you pointed it out
really happy to hear you enjoy the show! i watched the pilot when it leaked and i was waiting for ppl to actually give it a chance. i enjoy all the positives you mentioned and like most of the callbacks, especially with the meta joke of how long the og went on for and confirming that they stayed with timmy until he was an adult, retconning timmy’s secret wish. i agree that there’s a lot of untapped potential and i hope they get to spread their wings.
Good video! I'm enjoying the show so far. Having watched the next two videos after this (Dinosaur in Dimmidelphia and Fearless), I kind of feel like the serialization of the series means that Hazel's wishes are going to become more fantastical and harder to unwish the further along we go, and the more lowstakes ones we are getting now are just giving us a really good idea of how Hazel is different to Timmy. (Atleast I hope that's what they're planning)
I do find it funny now that you've pointed out that Hazel hasn't been told what happens if someone spots her Fairies, but with that said, given that they were hiding out as her neighbors when she met them, I think it was kind of obvious to her quite quickly that their true nature is meant to be a secret, so I can understand why they aren't going into detail about it yet.
I'm glad I held hope that it wouldn't be garbage fire. I also really like the joke of packing the same packed bag into the bag
Unrelated to this video but I think the LS Mark sleep channel is kind of funny to me considering I think a lot of people already use the 5+ hour long videos as their Sleep videos (myself included).
6:18 it's only weird if you want it to be, you're the narrator of your life, you set the rules in your world
The hall of fame Timmy idea is really good, how can you reference him but not explain how the fairies feel about him?
I think this show has gotten a great start even if it’s a bit flawed, though I am confused on one thing: Cosmo and Wanda said they’ve been retired for 10,000 years but also still raised Timmy. So is this 10k years in the future or did I misinterpret their line.
Fairy World is basically a different space/time zone, remember they were there for the neanderthals and the girl who caused world war 1
@@woobgamer5210ah okay!
They time traveled. The show actually takes place like 2 or 3 decades after the original show, but Cosmo and Wanda have literally been traveling through time and space, so it's been 10k years from their perspective.
This show leaked so much that it was hysterical of the way Nickelodeon traded it. It was like they didn't know about it existence but it's here.
