I agree and to add that will pull perfect manuvers into terrain as well so you can still cheat the AI... But I would never discount the AI in a non peer fight or in a furball or on a complexe mission. So even if you perfore solo or co-op you can still find chanlange just not in a fair fight.
I hate this behavior, I've had too many head on collisions due to the AI matching my moves, I pull harder he pulls harder, I relax he relaxes then our noses meet and in many cases I have the weaker aircraft so I have less freedom of movement. Another thing, watch the AI fight AI, they refuse to exploit opportunities, they keep trying to match each other and run out of fuel instead. Also look at an AI chasing down an AI that is flying straight and level, the one chasing is unable to get a shot because he keeps zig zagging. Then also try to fight a MiG-21 in an F-5 or F1, or a MiG-21... I know some would think "but why do you care about AI vs AI" - that is very important for a realistic campaign, the AI needs to be able to execute a mission by itself, the user can't jump from aircraft to aircraft like in Jane's USAF or IAF and do the work for the AI.
Still practicing against AI, have been too nervous to start multiplayer yet. Been trying diff jets from theviper to flanker, hornet f15ex, f15c, fulcrum,f22, su30,.. Getting Decent at BVR, gotta practice WVR Thank you for giving newer players like me tips on getting better, so we'll be prepared for multiplayer etc
Ironically, I find that the AI Teen-series fighters are MUCH easier to beat than the Cold War-era planes like the F-5, Mirage F.1, etc. The Mirage F.1 is especially goofy - I've watched it basically go straight up, then do a full-on somersault, before slotting right onto my 6 with more speed than it started with! All in about 3-5 seconds.
Sorry if it's a dumb question, but why wouldn't you want to take head-on shots? Guns would be 50/50, but surely that's better than hoping for the enemy to somehow fight on your terms. Missiles would even force them to defend early so you can go chase after them
It was interesting to see how the AI aim is not the practice, therefore doesn't follow the unwritten dogfight rules like not shooting during head to head, just take the kill in every cost. The Terminator doesn't play with it's food :D
I know the F-5 wasn't the greatest fighter on the planet, but they sure are a good looking little plane. The USAF should have bought more of them to be to the F-4 that the F-16 is to the F-15.
Hi LS, Was it my imagination or does this map make it look like everyone look like they are living on golf courses? Also, what would be the point of warfare be if it was conducted by AI and the countries fighting had no troops involved and the population just didn't care about the outcome?
Don't discard the F-5 that easy, it's been used for years as an aggressor to train fighter pilots, I don't think it's superior to the F-14 but in dogfight it can give you a really good battle.
Just watched a doc, that had an ai military project this company was working on. Long story short, once they have their final product the ai within a month, was dogfighting and beating some of our best pilots. It was an eye opener, g forces.. that’s the name of the game. It was cool, during work hours they’d be playing it and at night it’s running through a ton of simulations. Within a month..
One on one is meaningless, of course the F-14 will defeat an F-5. The real trick is 3 F-5s against an F-14, or an F-15, or an F-16. The F-5s are guaranteed to kill their opponent in a three to one match up. The reason why that is a big deal, is because the cost of an F-14, or an F-15, or an F-16, is much more than 3 times the cost of an F-5.

@2:00, OMG we're head to head. I can't believe we're doing this.
The Mig-28 going up against Maverick here.
F14: Literally hits the ground and burns
LS: Understandable, have a Fox 2 anyway.
Pretty cool to see the F-5 being flown once again
I had to queue up Cheap Tricks Mighty wings as I watched this.
LS that looked FUN and a constructive challenge!
F-4 vs F-5 vica versa would be nice fight. David vs Goliath, or something like that. You should use "black skin" anyway, as the MiG-28. 😅
@3:26 "The need for speed" were the words you were looking for lol 🤣

I like your videos though.

And btw I fly primarily f16 and dabble in the flankers

i was so pressing the uncage button there

Can you do a “you” vs AI F1 Mirage. That thing fly unnaturally.
I agree we need better AI, ever notice how your team mates always die leaving you alone?

Let's be honest you won in that Mig-28 because Maverick was off duty today...!!!
I think the AI wants to let you win for some reason 🤔
I hope, one day, they could fix the F5.
What’s wrong with it?
F5's were so maneuverable! Back in late 70s Greek AF f5s "killed" Usaf F15s during exercise! Huge success considering the huge advantage of F15.
I ❤️ the F-5E!
It's not "AI", it's programmed.
It’s an artificial intelligence as it makes decisions on the fly in accordance to its surroundings, and it doesn’t fly a pre-programmed path
Can someone guide me to the video where Longshot flies solo F16 guided by GS as AWACS?
Thumbnail says "the wall" I think
@@LongShotChannel
Thanks Brother
How about you in an Su34M vs GS in an F15E in a truck vs truck dogfight and then maybe BVR?
The Tomcat would win that dogfight 10 out of 10 times and in less than a minute each time.
Don't discard the F-5 that easy, it's been used for years as an aggressor to train fighter pilots, I don't think it's superior to the F-14 but in dogfight it can give you a really good battle.
would be cool if the AI would calculate your potential min radius turn vs its potential min radius turn, and calculate what to do based on that

Is name G forces? I am not sure because I don't know to write english language.

The AI in this simulator is pretty trash most of the time.

I think this is the dumbest AI I've seen. AI in Jane's USNF 97 was much better, not speaking about Jane's F/A-18 and F-15.
