    Small tip... Take a printed boarding pass with you too. You can save the file as a pdf (go to print and change the printer option to pdf) also and keep that on your phone too. You can't have too many back ups. Do the same with your e-ticket.

    Although I have done air travel several times, it's always good to review procedures and tips & hacks. You can always learn something or refresh your memory. I love the tip about taking a photo of where you parked. It's easy to forget what part of a large lot you used.
    Maybe also take a picture of your car, in case something happens to it while you are gone? The parking company probably will not accept any responsibility, but it might help with insurance claims or whatever you pursue. Evidence that it wasn't damaged when you parked it.
    Thanks for making good useful videos.

    Awesome video!
    Here is a brief guide:
    Booking: Book your flight online or through a travel agency.
    Check-in: Arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before domestic flights and 3 hours before international flights. Check-in at the airline counter or use self-service kiosks.
    Baggage: Drop off checked baggage if you have any. Make sure it meets size and weight restrictions.
    Security: Proceed to security screening. Follow guidelines regarding liquids, electronics, and removing outer layers.
    Boarding Pass: Receive your boarding pass after check-in. It can be printed or electronic.
    Boarding: Listen for announcements or monitor the departure boards for boarding information. Board the plane when your group is called.
    Seat: Find your assigned seat. If unsure, check your boarding pass or ask a flight attendant for assistance.
    Stow Baggage: Place carry-on items in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you.
    Safety: Pay attention to the safety demonstration and follow instructions from the crew.
    Enjoy Your Flight: Sit back, relax, and enjoy your journey!
    Thank you and remember to be kind!

      Once you're through TSA, look up for signs that will direct you to your gate. In pretty much every airport I've ever been too all the signs are hanging from the ceiling. If you're confused, I would get a feel for the TSA vibe. If they are more abrupt and not all that friendly, then ask in one of the many stores you'll find once you're past TSA. Hope this helps! Hello! I have family members who have severe anxiety so I totally understand 😊. You do not need to pull the straightener out. The only items you should need to pull out are your liquids bag and if you are traveling with a laptop, you will need to pull that out and put it in a separate bin. When you are line try to see what others are doing and listen closely to any announcements being made. Just so you know, they don't actually have loud alarms that sound out, if they see something that they have a question about they will just pull you aside and to look for whatever it is that looks like something questionable. The very few times this has happened to me, its been something like a thick book or a bag of candy. Are you traveling by yourself? Also, if you haven't had a chance you might want to check out my video on going through TSA 😊

To be extra sure about the stickers, AND where the luggage will come out when you arrive in South Africa, I would check directly with the airline you are flying on. Have a fantastic trip!!

      Fun! Hawaii in December is great 😊. You do not go back through baggage check and security again when you are connecting with Domestic flights. Your checked bags will go to your final destination. When you get off your first flight you'll just walk to the gate of your next flight. I'm guessing from Milwaukee you'll be connecting through LA or San Francisco. If the flights are similar in price and time, I would definitely recommend San Fran over LA... The LA airport is huge and not super easy to navigate. Hope this helps!

    • @GenxGypsy1968
      @GenxGypsy1968  Год назад +2

      Terminals and gates are constantly being changed for flights due to a number of different reasons, so you don't usually get them until you check in for your flight, no more than 24 hours in advance. And even then you might not get them, especially the gate...AND even if you are given the gate on your boarding pass it is important to check and make sure they haven't changed it right before your flight. If your airline has an app, I would encourage you to to download it so that you can quickly get notified if there are changes. But the best way to be safe, is to check the departure boards at the airport when you get there! Have a great trip 😊

      The perfumes will need to be included in your liquids bag, you would also need to include any foods that might be considered liquids in the liquids bag too. If you haven't yet, check out my Liquids Bag 101 video 😊. Have a great time on your trip!

    So if this happens, will you have to pay the fee for having to have your luggage checked instead of carried on?🤔

    Hi. I have a flight in 3 months and it's international. My baggages will probably be transferred to my destination, and i have a connecting time of 1 hour and 45 minutes. I have bought the ticket from the same travel agency. Should I go through the same process of checking baggage and stuff, or can i skip them and just go to my gate? Thanks.

    • @GenxGypsy1968
      @GenxGypsy1968  Год назад

      I think this is a good question to ask your travel agency. I'm not sure if they are planning on checking your bags for the flight for you or if you are going to actually have to go through the process of checking your own bags. I would definitely ask them to clarify this for you... Have a great trip 😊

    Do we have to do anything at the airport of our destination and only have carry-on? Or once we get off we can leave the airport right away?

    • @GenxGypsy1968
      @GenxGypsy1968  11 месяцев назад

      If you are arriving in another country you will have to go through customs. But if you are just flying domestically, then yes you can head on out of the airport onto your adventure 😊

    If I have a 5:30am departure time do I really need to show up 2 hours early?

    • @GenxGypsy1968
      @GenxGypsy1968  2 года назад +1

      Well... the answer really depends on a few things: Are you flying domestically? What airport are you flying from (the larger the airport the more time you need)? Are you checking a bag? Surprisingly, the early mornings can be some of the busiest times at the airport because there are lots of flights scheduled for the mornings due to the weather usually being better in the early mornings.

      Usually you cannot check in for your flight online any sooner than 24 hours before your flight is scheduled to take off. Once you check in you should have options on how to receive your boarding pass. For example, as an email or a printable pdf. Hope you have a great trip!😊

    • @GenxGypsy1968

      There are lots of signs showing directions in the airport, but many times there will be an agent waiting as you come off the ramp that can help give you directions. If no one is there, find an agent at a desk that isn't very busy and ask them for directions. Atlanta is a big airport but it's pretty easy to get around. Have fun!! 😊

      Hi Abby!! Congrats on taking your first flight 😊. Each airline has different systems for "unaccompanied minors" meaning someone under 18 who is flying alone. I think (BUT PLEASE CHECK) that you should be able to contact the airline you are flying with to get a pass for your Mom to go through security with you. She will need to bring her ID and the pass with her to get through. Where are you going?

      Yes, you can bring jewelry as gifts. I wouldn't wrap it though, just in case the TSA needs to check it out. As for the amount of money you can bring, that depends on the country you're flying to. I would google that question for your destination 😊

    I haven't flown since 1988! will be flying out of Nashville soon to BWI... I am a transgender woman now but still have my Birth name on driver's license. I do Have Female checked on my Sure ID... will I have a problem with security? I want to be dressed as a woman on this flight... is your appearance matched to your gender on license? what should I do I still have to go to court for my name change to be legal

    • @GenxGypsy1968
      @GenxGypsy1968  2 года назад

      Your ticket does have to match your current legal ID. In fact, my legal first name has an "e" at the end but my Mom dropped the "e" before I started elementary school so I have never used it. However, I have gotten push back when I have booked my plane tickets without the "e" and then I present my ID with the "e". I don't think your gender appearance will be an issue as long as you're willing to acknowledge your current legal name and they all match up on your ID and plane ticket. Hope that makes sense! Have a wonderful trip 😊

    Many extra useless info. Airport staff will tell you what to do. Follow to signs and arrows etc. And if you do something wrong at the security check, they will have to help you. It is their job to check hand luggage, etc. Be polite, smile and say thank you to the person who helps you. Many passengers are flying for the first time and many do not speak or understand English. And airport staff should be able to help
