They had a map of the town showing where all the different trailer companies were. Need a horse trailer? Come on down to Chickasha and take your pick! Make a weekend of it lol. Not so much anymore.
Weight translates into fuel consumption & also affects your average speed through mountain country. Unless you have a big-ass rig up front that will leave stretch marks on the trailers paintwork 😃
I had a comparable Sooner 3-horse slant, LQ 8 ft wide with mangers. Nice trailer but our large warmbloods didn't like the slant stalls. Sold it to non-horse people who used it for camping and hauling motocross bikes. Better built than a RV trailer for obvious reasons.
That is only 1 small expense. You have the vehicle insurance, the trailer insurance, horse purchase, horse insurance, horse gear and the list goes on and on. And on. And on. And on. For all the things you need and things you can get by with, for a year of operating this thing from coast to coast.. try a cool million. And I know people, that is a low ball figure.
He said something about going to rodeo's, so I thought maybe rodeo cowboys make enough to own it, so I googled, the highest paid guy made $432,000 in 2017, so he could probably afford it, but he wouldn't have much money left, so maybe the guys that own race horses get it for their multi million horses and the guys that take care of them.
If your a professional rodeo rider and or horses are your life your typically on the road all the time traveling, going to different rodeos in different states every week, which make these trailers kind of a necessary tool for those people like that to have.

Shock absorber bracket already rusted. How's that going to look after a season of shows with mud and wet grass? I can't figure out why the trailer manufacturers refuse to keep rust at bay with some sort of undercoating.
In Texas you have to have a class A CDL because of GVR. Troopers will pull/ you over and give you a fat ticket. Just a heads up. If it was an RV only (not horse or cattle trailer) only have to have a class C
You can easily convert a horse trailer into a camper for ¾ of that price. One of my classmates did one on his farm. It only took about 6 months to complete including getting it registered. The insurance didn't go up any.

I forgot what the total amount was for the renovation but I believe it was somewhere around $9 or 10k that includes everything. It looked very nice inside when he showed some pictures of the "before and after".
Angie Reichert owner of Reichert performance horses has a trailer larger than this one. It is a custom 7 horse Lakota Longhorn and it has 2 slide outs and it is hauled by a freightliner with custom alligator skin seats.

Everything was awesome but the kitchen stove top recessed is almost useless and the single sink as well. Everything else seems well executed and high quality with attention to detail.

Mad Max What do you mean yet? It’s literally not illegal. Our semis have been pulled over many times to check weight when they are loaded with grain. None of us on the farm have a CDL and have never gotten a ticket for not having it.
Only had a 24,000 pound capacity. Which means 5200 capacity. I don't see 4 horses and all the equipment plus personal belongings being that low. That means that trailer will most likely be over weight when ever fully loaded. Not to mention almost maxed out loaded with out the horses. Doesn't seem like a good plan for longevity to always be maxed out.

For a quarter mil, they (outfitter) could have spent a few more bucks on better materials. Like I said, the actual trailer is nice, and living in Scottsdale (rural horse prop) I see that level of trailer daily. Always wondered what they looked like on the 'house' side. Pondered too about flies. ;-) Comes with the territory thou.
IG-adamlaheycustomleather - yeah well this particular unit has laminate countertops, drop in sinks, a gas Onan that will be problematic down the road, non-ducted A/C’s, and that is just what I picked out in 30 seconds.
This is luxury. Yet, being a horse person and looking to do tiny home or maybe this, but with 2 horse stall, I'd never buy one that didn't have a space or a half wall window where I could connect with my horses while out on the road. I'd like them to be able to see further past their stalls. I'd give up the fancy upgrades etc. Can't afford that size truck it needs even if I could afford a similar, smaller used one. This is for the elite wealthy. To them, this is just pocket change anyway. Their stables surely blow the minds of average horse owners.

Could you guys please test the 4x4 compact utility tractors like the John Deere 1025R ? I want one and there are other brands such as Kubota, Yanmar, Rural King and so on and I am confused what one to buy. (they are selling like crazy)

It's 6 feet short of a standard semi trailer, definitely want more than a 1 ton to tow it.

18,800 lbs empty. Once you load it with horses, tack and living supplies you're easily over 26k lbs.

Yes and riding horses weigh roughly 1500 pounds so there is roughly 700 pounds left for the hay and riding equipment

Can the new HD trucks tow this? Seems like the axles are so far back you may max out payload of the truck before maxing out the towing capacity.
If you can afford 225k for this trailer, I think it would be smart to invest in a small semi truck or a medium duty truck lol.
