First exposure to Roca Rourin here and my god it’s a breath of fresh air hearing an English Rock cover out of an ENVtuber for once.
As a guy whose only Eastern exposure is to vtubers, this is a surprise, and it’s an awesome cover of something right in my childhood too (GH3 DLC)
Considering she sang highway to hell on her debut. A banger of a cover like this was going to happen.
Apparently it's super hard for vtuber corps to get permissions for English songs (or at least for Hololive), so it's incredible when we get stuff like this.
It takes guts to cover a song as beloved as The Pretender, considering how hard it can be. But you absolutely knocked it out of the park Roxy! You went above and beyond with it and made it your own

I'm so glad that-even after being hesitant about this-you still put it out! Dave Grohl's voice is incredibly versatile and definitely a tough one to beat, but yours was absolutely up for the task It's actually insane how you can fit your voice into any genre and make it sound so natural. That perfect growl at the end was just the cherry on top of an amazing cover

Speakers and screens is not really a problem in my book.
One way could be to perform IRL but with her appearance obscured.
Just look how Ado does live concerts without showing her face.
And live gigs with her avatar are also possible.
I'm fully aware that Idol is by no means a big company like for example Cover.
But there surely is a way to project her on a stage (if it's only 2D screen, so be it) and have her perform even in a small venue - preferably with a real band.

@@skullcolectolector I can't think of a single member of Hololive EN having a permanently posted cover of an American/English language artist's song, feel free to prove me wrong to but they only do that in unarchived karaoke as far as I'm aware because western record companies are copyright vultures.
Actually now that I think about vtuber in general, Amano Serafi now has western song karaoke that stays up, I don't know if she or her agency goes through more effort to get permissions from the Copyright holders that HL doesn't or what.
I'm always brought back to Roca's debut when she absolutely stunned everyone with her voice. Still happens every time. Absolutely amazing voice.

This is my introduction to Roxy. Couldn't ask for a better introduction to someone. Not only is this song not covered nearly enough, but you did it in your own style rather than trying to mimick the original. That alone deserves major respect. Looking forward to seeing more like this.

Foo Fighters is one of my favorite bands. They were the first band I 'really' got into, and Pretender is one of their tops.

I never thought listening to covers of vocaloid songs would end up leading me back to my favorite song by my favorite band, but here we are. I dunno who you are, but I really appreciate what you're doing. Actually being able to understand the lyrics is always a plus, and this song in particular has stuck with me ever since I first heard it in 2007.

A bit late commenting, but this cover was how I discovered you, Roca. And it really is incredible. I've listened to it so many times that the original doesn't sound quite right without your voice anymore. After this, Backlight, Roki, and Ghost (not to mention all of your karaokes), I can't wait to see what you've got in store next!
