Your mixture of an infectiously joyous personality and really helpful, no bullshit education + tips are what make you so unique. I can't wait to see the success you achieve in the future
Danny I have a question for you. WHY ARE YOUR VIDEOS SO PERFECT ITS AMAZING HOW DO YOU PULL THIS OFF?! This is probably the best lighting tutorial I have ever seen you’re such a big inspiration Danny. Thank you.
You just have this genuine/joyous/peaceful vibe with your personality Danny! I enjoy watching your videos-so inspiring & insightful! Keep up the great work! 🙌☺️
that was easy....harsness of nature light is any camera user's number one nightmare and here in Afrika ,we have to negotiate with this situation almost the entire year...this is so helpful.thanks Danny and blessing
you're the best man, came from the video with dan as an African man myself the love you show and express is much more than one could even think of having
Even if you have access to expensive camera, it's nice that you show consideration to people that can only afford phone camera, a shower curtain and a 40$ second hand Gimbal. That friendly smile in your voice, such a positive attitude. You make me feel like I can do it! You are very talented and such a nice soul. Love from Montréal Ps Just subscribed today! Ps2 Always thumb up to show respect.
Mike looks like a character you’d be customizing in Skate but with high resolution mod. Looks hella nice. Good job Danny! Very informative in such a simple manner. Keep’em coming sir
I Thoroughly enjoyed watching this. Such a clear concise lesson on how to light any outdoor scene. I literally have no questions after this. And this is what makes you stand out. Well done!
thanks! I've just started again with photography and you video really helped me how to deal with use case scenarios. keep up the good work man! love it
I just came across your channel a few days ago and I wish I would have sooner because😇Danny You are so positive.... And the best thing is your positivity is contagious. I love being affected by it. Thank you Danny😇
I love harsh light, about 6 months ago I started playing around with it, it works so well in cities as you can use buildings and cars to form shadows to create really interesting compositions you couldn't overwise do with soft light
Thank goodness! Was worried we wouldn’t see Danny this week! Great video as always man! Also, good luck with the move! Hope it’s exactly what you want. Love you man. Keep inspiring!
Just bought it! I'm only in the daytime interior section and this is doing wonders for my understanding of lighting choices available. I didn't know about negative fill. Learning about using a key light to support the motivating light. Didn't know what a motivating light was. Cheating the bed/couch away from the wall was a great tip. Diffusing the window was also a good tip. I got all that in the FIRST set up. Can't wait to learn about night time lighting. Thank you! One thing I would love more information on - is what lighting gear do you recommend to your audience of one man band creators? Very curious if someone has a limited budget what you would recommend for cost effective lighting gear.
Thanks so much dude!! So pumped to hear that. I honestly recommend brands like Aputure and nanlite. Consumer level and super powerful easy to use. Not really a fan of all the other knock offs. Worth the extra money in my opinion to go with those
Harsh sunlight is the worst sometimes. You think you got the exposure right, then you get home and everything is blown out or not the way you want. Just grabbed the whole course from moment. Those guys are the best! Thanks Danny- hope the move goes well!
Man i had to watch the negative fill clip twice it was so subtle but man.. Danny you Chris Franklin and the Buffnerds are some of the best teachers I've found on and off youtube! preciate the gems
Just love you man :). The actions you've taken to help people out, wether it is a beginner film maker in France or a grinding one in Africa is just heat warming. You give me more confidence when approaching my projects craftwise. Hope we can meet one day, grab a drink and make something up. Cheers. May the Force be with you ,always.
In a world full of spammy courses full of people looking for a quick buck, yours is one I’d get in a heart beat. Love your genuine passion for improving your community’s filmmaking ability. PS have you ever lit an entire scene with that smile of yours??🤩
This is a great way to light sunny exteriors, thanks. One thing to point out though is that the scene isn't really backlit, it more top 3/4 lit, and you're shooting into shadow side. If it was backlit you'd have to bounce light into his face to get exposure, but negative fill would have more effect. Either way, great video.
Thank you so much for all of your content. It’s so nice of you to give us all the things that you have learnt to us pretty much for free. I honestly can’t thank you enough 🙂
Fantastic video, many thanks friend! As a new filmmaker, these simple tricks not only help but they inspire more creativity - seriously, thank you! Cheers :)
I hate and love this trickery in film making. On one hand this goes un noticed to the average viewer (cutting from wide to close up) but at the same time as a film maker you can notice it and see how unreal it is.
Yeeeoowwww! Love this DG. Just purchased your course + Colin & Samir's on storytelling - gonna level up my vids in 2021 ;) Thanks so much as always brother. B
Hey man I like you bud. Your real and down to earth not like a lot of the film guys. Most are like do this and do that and it's like whaaaaaaa. You explain it well and make it so if you mess up it's ok cause your learning. Cudos to you Danny!!! Luv ya right back brother!!!
The sunlight might be harsh but Danny’s got us covered
hahaha love it. thanks as always dude!
I love this 😂😂💯
🙌💯
all of danny’s videos are madly motivational for some reason. i love it
haha yo that makes me so happy to see that. Thank you!
I couldn't agree more!
We are bless by Danny's positive attitude.
I'm 100% buying this!
Hahaha I doubt you of all people need this one bro! Thanks so much!
I'm definitely taking your word for it
Talk about a reliable source 😅✌️
It’s crazy I’m a fan of both of y’all 😂 y’all so inspiring 🙏🏿 it’s amazing to me to see y’all watching each other

When you're in the middle of editing but have to take a Danny break. Thanks for the lesson :)
Haha amazing! Thanks brotha!!
rare footage of Mike Dewey not behind his computer
Hahah a wild and wasteful yet stunningly handsome Michael.
Lol Mike does not look thrilled to be there.
The way he talks is so wholesome for some reason. He's like that brother we all wished we had.
Danny I have a question for you. WHY ARE YOUR VIDEOS SO PERFECT ITS AMAZING HOW DO YOU PULL THIS OFF?! This is probably the best lighting tutorial I have ever seen you’re such a big inspiration Danny. Thank you.
Haha my brotha! Thanks so much! Luckily I had the Moment team helping me on this one! You’re the man
This is the practical type of film content I’ve been searching for on RUclips. Thanks Danny!

Carol!! Thank you so so much for that!
The first lesson I didn't have to hold a camera. Amazing, let me know if you want to do another sometime.
The man who blessed our camera ladies and gents.
Bros before hose
that was easy....harsness of nature light is any camera user's number one nightmare and here in Afrika ,we have to negotiate with this situation almost the entire year...this is so helpful.thanks Danny and blessing
The light in this video is not harsh at all. It is like morning or sunset time in my Tropical Country.
you're the best man, came from the video with dan as an African man myself the love you show and express is much more than one could even think of having
Thanks! Unfortunately, all I have is the sun, so this is a great help!
haha sometimes its all you need! Thanks dude!
I seriously love this channel. You continue to provide excellent value to those of us who are still newer in our filmmaking journey, thank you 🙌
Aw dude thank you!!

Something I love about film is how people get to improvise in any condition to get that shot done. Thanks Danny. Love you too
Totally man! Thank you so much!

2:50 great to see that Danny also keeps track of his perfect frame.
Best breakdown of shooting in harsh sunlight I've ever seen. He does it again !!
Aw thank you so so much!

Aw dude thanks so much! So glad you found the channel and happy to have you
@Danny Gevirtz Happy to be here. And as you know positivity is scarce these days so if you find it, you hang on to it for dear life.
I love harsh light, about 6 months ago I started playing around with it, it works so well in cities as you can use buildings and cars to form shadows to create really interesting compositions you couldn't overwise do with soft light
Yep! But sometimes in narrative you want the face to be soft on tights
Thank goodness! Was worried we wouldn’t see Danny this week! Great video as always man!

haha sorry man had to wait for the Moment Lesson to be available! Thanks brotha!

3 years , 45 videos later … I’d like to say thank you , this is one of the last things I needed to see to start filming my first indie show 🙏❤

Aw bro what a beautiful comment! Thanks so much man!
I’ve used a white IKEA shower curtain stretched to a frame! It works super well ’cos it’s super thin and let’s light well thru.
The value of this is huge
Just bought the course! Can't wait to check it out!
