Thanks for sharing. It's always nice to see how other people approach a problem. Interesting with the speedino. I prefer to stick with honda based management myself, but as you said these sedans didn't come with PGMFI so if you like wiring then you are in for a treat. Looking forward to more videos about the car, mods, etc.
Hi Thanks, very nice content. Got a few questions, was the conversion straight forward? i have a D14A as well on a hatch EF and got given a D15B2 with engine loom and ecu. what do i need to do for the swap? my understanding is it will be a stand alone engine ecu and I will only need to get speedo, rev counter and as automatic the gear feedback? Thanks
Pitty about the d14. I've got a dual carb hatch myself and I've been sort of day dreaming about doing a quick and dirty turbo setup on it, but the more I look into things, the less appealing it becomes. The fueling can be sort of finessed with jets and needle position, but the spark is a different can of worms.
To be honest I found the conversion from the standard distributor to mappable ignition really simple. I think if you had the parts you could probably install it within a couple of hours, less than that if the wiring was done before. The ECU I use cost
Yes either detonation or just too high cylinder pressure (which can occur without detonation), electronic ignition with more retarded spark timing would have helped either issue.
@@jakethepeasant I use a translator. I have a 1985 honda prelude with dual carb.I want to go your way with d14. Advise on what boost pressure to stop if I use 98 gasoline. Can I use standard ignition or is it better to switch to programmable ignition.Thanks.
@@90streetstandard always better to change to programmable ignition I think, the d14 isn't a strong engine so I would recommend staying below 0.5-0.6bar. it might be worth talking with this person on Instagram as they have been successfully running a dual carb turbo civic for a while now: instagram.com/kanjo_car_craft?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=

Good to see people still tinker with d engines still
I have an imported eg4 MX definitely need that EFI conversion video SUB
Could you do a tutorial on how to setup spark only with a stand alone ecu?

Good looking EF i have the same color but all my clear coat is gone.
Mines pretty rough to be honest and has lost clear coat in a few places, could definitely do with a respray!

Still got this? is the engine still in one piece?
Yeah still going! Nearly 30000 miles as a daily since I put the 1.6 in and it's still going well!
Насколько я понял d14 был сломан из за детонации? Возможно было поставить электронное управление зажиганием вместо трамблёра.

@@jakethepeasant ok.спасибо
By chance which management you chose?
I'm using a Speeduino UA4C
