Base shadows hits a balance where it cares about the dahan and uses them strategically while not having so much control over them that they're basically just more of your pieces, and its a balance that isn't replicated by Reach or many of its aspects. Although I do concede that Shadows shipped basically unfinished.
Loved this game! Glad to see a shadows match and that you had some fun playing it. Really enjoyed some of your decisions, enjoyed seeing how you used the SR a couple times early to get tempo.
I feel like Shadows has anti-synergy with its special rule and Favors. You're rewarded for gathering all the Dahan into one land, but then you can't use your special rule effectively. If Shadows had a way to push Dahan, maybe it wouldn't feel as bad?
I've played about 10-15 games with this spirit, with this adversary and this board and every time I get the worst possible combination of lands and events, losing every time. I try to play around events, but it never works out. How do you do it? In light of the above, I'm starting to find that I do not enjoy low complexity control spirits. I had the same problem with Sun bright. They just seem too weak. It takes too long to get to your damaging innates and by then its often too little, too late. I don't have this trouble with defensive and offensive spirits.
Anything is possible given the right drafts! Winning with Shadows is going to occur much less consistently than winning with Keeper! Especially in that mu!
I’ve beaten Base shadows England 6. I think you want to scale more before the reclaim, like G3 bottom track (same cards) g2 gain a minor top track, g2 gain another minor top track, G4 reclaim into major. You could major a turn earlier. But it’s pretty helpful to be at 3 energy on the reclaim, two play majors consistently. And 3 energy 2 plays your next presence has you at 3/3 gives you a punchers chance at winning. And if you draw something like Paralying Fright and tech into the threshold you can win.
Hey there! Gg. At 8.58 you could have won by gathering dahan into the city land and the downgrade the city paying the energy for your special rule because there is a dahan now in the jungle and the run back the same cards and won for terror level 3 via the innate. Anyway great showcase. I find that with any aspect of shadow, exept dark fire, if you down find a minor with your elements in the first 2 draft you are dead. And the 0 cost fire moon is the only one in the deck. Without it you pull yourself so far behind in plays and energy. Anyway gg.
I think I'm 1 fear off? At 8:58 I need 7 fear to win. Only 2 fear in the slow here. I don't get the fear if I gather Dahan into A8. The most fear I can get next turn fast is 3.

Is there any chance that the game will have any erratas (well, besides aspects if you count them as ones)?

You did much better than the beatdown I received this morning from Sweden
Base shadows against a level 6 adversary? Are you ok? Are you punishing yourself? :D At least it's Prussia I guess, could be worse.
This was one of the matchups I felt comfortable playing. I may also do Sweden!

Great play man! I was wondering if in your opinion is even possible to beat England 6 with base Shadows or is 100% not possible?

@@RedReVenge007What you suggest as a optimal opening growth pattern? I managed in winning against Prussia 6 but I even stopped trying with England.
