Hi! I will admit when you attached the lining using a different technique, It looked at first as if it would turn out a bit wonky but you came through quite well! I like that you added a handle on top, something seldom seen in such tutorials. Hello. Thank you for the video instruction. It’s how am learning to sew. Do you happen to have the instructions/method to figuring out the math, written down for reference and printing?
Hi, Brian. You're very welcome. Thank you so much for watching. It makes me so happy to hear that! You can take a look at the video description as I always add additional information there. You will have to add 2” (5cm) to each of your sewing machine measurements. This measurement already takes into account the quilting shrinkage and 19/32" (1.5cm) of seam allowance. Don't forget to adapt the batting measurements that will be 25/32" (2cm) less than the main fabric and lining pieces. Instead of the polyester batting I use, you can use a sew-in fabric stabilizer like the one I use in the bread basket video. Unfortunately I don't have these instructions written down for reference or printing. If you have any questions while making the cover, feel free to ask. Have a fabulous new week. Happy sewing! 😊🧵
Salut Carole. 🪡❤️
Hi making this today using Prequilted fabric, the top stitching you do to keep the lining in place, is it necessary to keep it shape since I have no lining? Thank you so much
Hi, raggedyanna6. Yes, it is necessary as it helps to keep the cover shape. Please pay attention to the fact that if the batting on your prequilted fabric is too thin and flat, the cover may not keep its shape even with the top stitching. Always my pleasure. Thanks again for watching. Have a beautiful day and happy sewing! 🤗🪡❤️
Hi I am a little confused at this part, “ while sewing the top piece leave 5/8” without seam at the beginning and at the end of each side of the fabric”
Hi, You'll have to leave 5/8" (which is the seam allowance) unstitched at the beginning and the end of each corner (side) of the fabrics so you can finish with perfect 90º corners. If you stitch until the end it won't be possible. I hope that helps. Happy sewing! 😊🪡

Hi using regular fabric and foam because my machine is very large. How much extra fabric do I need to allow for the quilting? Do I need to quilt it for bosal fusible foam? Thank you so much I used Prequilted and it did not hold its shape
Hi, I apologize for the late reply. I'm sorry that the pre-quilted fabric didn't hold its shape. Did you top stitched at the end? I wish I could be of more help but I've never worked with foam. I could advise but I don't want to induce you in error. If you make a quick search you'll probably find great RUclips videos on how to sew in fusible foam. Please let me know if you have any other questions or if there's anything else I can help you with. Always my pleasure. Happy sewing and have a beautiful weekend! 🪡❤️
Hi Glenda Lara. Thank you so much for stopping by. I bought these fabrics and the polyester batting a while ago in physical stores in Portugal. The stores names are “Feira dos Tecidos” and “Tecidos Zarco”, you can find them online. I don’t know if they still have those fabrics or if they sell internationally. Thanks again for watching. Have a beautiful day. 😊🧵
Hi, I have the Brother SE1900 Embroidery Sewing machine. How do I create the cover for the Embroidery Unit? The measurements for this machine are W 13.43 x D 23.19 x H 11.54. I'm having a difficult time finding a Pattern to make a Dust Cover for it. Thank you! I enjoyed your video tutorial!! (:
Hi! 😊 Thanks a lot for watching and for your comment. You will have to add 2” to each of your sewing machine measurements. This measurement already takes into account the quilting shrinkage and 0.6" of seam allowance. For example, your measurements for the top fabric piece will be W 15.43 x D 25.19 and for the sides will be H 13.54 x D 25.19". You just have to repeat the same calculation to get all the fabric pieces measurements that you will need. Don't forget to adapt the batting measurements that will be 0.79" less than the main fabric and lining pieces. As you're looking to make a dust cover for the Embroidery Unit too, it will be hard to explain without a video. The dust cover for that unit usually has only 3 sides and you have to cut the fabric for the sewing machine cover a different way to fit the shape where both pieces meet. You can make it by measuring the part where both pieces meet and cutting the fabric with the same shape. What I can think of, to facilitate the process, is that you measure the widest parts of your embroidery unit plus sewing machine and that you make all-in-one dust cover. I wish I could be of more help. You're very welcome! 🤗
Yes, you can use whatever fabric you like. 😊 Lining is just the fabric or any other material you choose to cover the inside of your sewing project (clothing, bags, sewing machine covers, wallets...) Thanks a lot for watching! 💕
Yes, you're absolutely right! 😊 If you want it to be reversible you don't need to topstitch at the end and you can add one more handle to the other side. Thank you so much for watching! 🥰 Happy New Year and Happy Sewing! 🪡❤️
Hi Kimberley Barrett. The marking pen I use is a Pilot FriXion Ball 0.7mm. You can easily find these pens on Amazon or any stationary store. Thank you so much for watching. Have a beautiful new week.
Yes, you can and that way you skip the lining part. You'll just need to sew bias tape inside of the cover to finish the seam raw edges (optional). Thank you for watching! Happy sewing! 😊🪡
