Two abilities I wish Thor still had. The ability to travel in time through Mjolnir.
And the ability to travel inter dimensionally under his own power without the use of Bifrost.
The interdimensional travel power he still has on occasion depending on the writer, but a lot of writers only show him doing it with the help of Bifrost.
Also no current writer shows him doing the god- blast anymore.
In fact I hardly if ever see him firing concussive blasts out of his hammer, its usually a bolt of lightning out of the sky, which is less satisfying.

I don't know for sure, but I think that you and I are of the same mind when it comes to the MCU making the Asgardians aliens instead of keeping with the comics and leaving them as "true" Gods. I hate when people change the way a character was originally made by the artist. "If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it!" Don't change the sex of the character, race, background, nationality, etc. I'm not opposed with creating a new superhero with a different sex, race, etc. I just don't like it when an established character gets fixed because of social pressure, or morality, or some sort of imagined lack of a certain race, ethnic group, or sex. If you feel that the comic/movie is lacking something, then make a NEW hero, don't fuck with something that has been around for decades, that's always a good way to piss off the true comic fans.
