Thank you again....I have been pulling maintenance on my 2013. had A/C problems. Replaced Blower motor, Blower Motor Resister, blower motor fuse and relay, got cold air, but I messed with that fuse wondering what it was, feeling satisfied i started the truck and the radio went off. Im off to reinstall or replace that fuse now, I bet money that is my problem...if it ain't broke don't mess with it...THANKS with a capital T...That fuse is in a difficult location and is equally difficult to seat, and somehow I did not seat that fuse properly, it was still good but it was not making proper contact so I replaced it with a new one which seated nicely. Cranked her up and viola LCD display in all its glory... I'm finally through with a 2 month long full maintenance and repair. Much of my tutoring came from this channel.. Thanks again.
You fixed my truck. Thanks! My radio / control head was hung and I couldn't find the fuse. It froze out of the blue after about 1200 km. Other strange things had been occurring on that recent long trip that could have been controller related as well. Will monitor those but I suspect they'll be gone now. Thanks again.
My 2014 Dodge Ram has the same fuse, but on the driver side between the battery and the firewall. I took the fuse out and it looked fine. Put it back in ,then tried out the radio, and it worked. Might be a loose connection, but I'm happy it's working without having to take it into the dealer. Thanks for the the video Marion!!
Yeah, im having that issue now and I changed the radio but it still happens. The fuse is good and when I put it back in it works until I shut the truck off. Any thoughts?
Great content Marion as always. Thank you. I’ve had the black screen on my 2014 a few times when it was still in warranty and I was stuck in the middle of rural Quebec. Called dealership and they said to press and hold power/volume button and tune/browse button at the same time for up to 30 seconds or a minute. Can’t remember but it has worked for me a few times. Obviously won’t help with a blown fuse situation but it’s just another tool in the tool belt to be aware of
Thank you, Mr. Blair. Would have never thought to look there. I’m about to get my third 8.4 radio installed. One died from de-lamination and the second lost GPS connectivity. Maybe the 3rd will be a charm. :)

You described it 100% and I had to go to the stealer ship to get a code flashed when I could of wasted $250 buying the app and the link I seen people do it all in less than 30 minutes and ram took like an hour to flash a code and charged me $95 it’s like damn if y’all would of took longer I would of said give me DRLs as well
Another great video. Glad you are doing well. I have never had an issue with my radio but my home link garage door controller acts up every once is a while. I get an error message on the EVIC that says “Did not train” and the opener will not function or has very short range- not sure what the cause/fix would be. Of course I raised the concern to the dealership numerous times while it was under warranty but they said there was no way for them to test it🤔. 116k on it not so no warranty but overall love my truck. Keep the videos coming.
Thanks for the advice. Struggling with a black screen on my 2013 Laramie RAM Diesel. The fuse on the diesel is on the Right side of the fire wall and for gas powered models will be on the left. Go figure.
Hello, I liked your troubleshooting video, and your sincere, laidback deliivery style. That said, I wonder if you have an answer to my question on Ram radio replacements? My Ram dealer told me that my 2015 Bighorn's radio/uconnect/multimedia unit is shorted out and needs a new replacement. (It's totally black, fuse isn't blown and I suspect the backup camera caused this). So, I ordered a used replacement unit online, as a new one's MSRP is $2650.00! The question is, when I put the new unit in, does it just plug in and play, or does the dealer need to do some kind of configuration with it to get it to interface with the truck? The dealer quoted me a replacement estimate and included a "relearn" charge in it. Anyone know if I can do this myself? thanks so much
Oh wow. Mine started about 6 months ago, maybe once every 2 weeks. And now it's every 3rd or 4th time I start my truck. If I drive with it frozen it will restart itself after about 5 minutes. And if i shut the truck off, it's 50 50 whether the radio shuts off as well. Sometimes it plays when the truck is off and I'm in the house for a few minutes
Hey marion been watching your videos for awhile! You should consider doing a value lash adjust soon , cummins recommends doing it every 150,000 miles but I did mine at 60,000 and the values were pretty off. Keep up the good work sir
BTW does anyone know what amperage that fuse is supposed to be? Mine is 20 amp which seems like a large fuse for that system. mine appears to be the same canary yellow fuse that Marion has...
Do you think reset would work to restore HD radio. HD presets are still there but when tuning in it says there unavailable. If I undo the battery and wait it will be there and disappear again later
I have a weird radio and dodge can never replicate the issue for some reason my radio if I don’t use the truck often the radio just goes to 0 and won’t change volume until it feels like turning on and I’m not sure if a fuse has to do with that or it has to be the radios amplifier
Probably not the fuse but change it anyway. Ram should replace that radio. They told me mine was bad even though it worked perfectly. I let them change it.
@@MarionBlair Yea I asked if they can replace they say they couldn’t replicate the issue on another truck and I’m like “that’s ridiculous” so I’m gonna change the fuse and see what happens when I let the truck sit for a couple days
When I push the cargo camera button all I get is a black box with a red X on the screen. Been that way for years. Dealership told me it would update over the air in a day or 2. Of course he was full.of crap but I didn't have time to argue about it. You guys think doing the factory reset might fix that? Or do you guys know where that connection is on the harness so I can take a look?
@@MarionBlair no, it's on the 8.4" main screen. It's the camera in the 3rd light above the sliding glass rear window. It shows the bed of the truck, I assume for 5th wheel hookup.
Thanks for the video Marion. I do have one question about the radio. I have the identical truck as yours. My radio gets no signal at all. It comes on and xm radio and Bluetooth work fine. I get 0 radio signal. All I get is static. I’ve replaced antenna cable from base to inside of psgr panel in the floor with no luck. Any suggestions what would fix this?? Anybody chime in. Thanks for any info.
I'd try the radio reset in the engineer's menu but probably a long shot. Press the up and down and hold arrows together on the AC temp control to get to it. Be careful with this but I think resetting the radio shouldn't be a problem.
@@MarionBlair Thank you. I’ll try that. If that doesn’t work I’m going to assume the tuner may have crapped out on me. Thanks for the videos. Keep them coming.
Hey Marlon. Have you figured out a way for the air circulation for the AC to always stay on? I know it will if the max ac button is pressed but I haven’t found another way . Thanks!
Hi Marion. Have you ever heard of a fuel gauge issue on a 2019 Ram 2500? Last time I filled the tank it did not even get to half full on the gauge. Also showing on the trip meter I have a lot fewer miles left to go until empty. Any ideas of what to check?? Only has 9000 miles on it. Thanks and I always enjoy your videos. 👍✌️

Almost seems they added that fuse after the PDC was already designed and maybe in production. Sure seems like an after thought! Good info/video!

My question is why the fuse popped in the first place?
Yea, it's usually more than just a bad fuse.
My radio on my 2014 Ram 1500 won't turn off after the engine is off and the doors are opened. Suggestions?
Great information .my radio cuts in and out .?
You ever get the screen freeze up on you? Can’t press anything or adjust volume, only hard power reset will bring it back?
Don't think I did. Most times it fixes any issues with a shutdown and start up of the truck. I've had to use the reset to default.
