- Beirut's popular Gemayze street was turned into a no-car zone in early December thanks to the Achrafieh2020 initiative. We figured that it'd be cool if both Mike & Karim performed in the middle of the street. So both guys felt it would be fun to jam to some of their favorite rock songs; it would be their "Tribute to Rock". It felt like a simple old school jamming session and it was lots of fun watching them go at it...

Always love a bit of shire madness. Mike's playing style is so naturally percussive that i thought the the added percussionist might detract, but sounded pretty damn nice.
smells like teen spirit nailed it
omg ! when is he coming back to Beirut?!!! love him so much
Love this - go u good thing
GREAT VIDEO !
That needed some courage to play for a crowd in such a far land from your home, Mike!
or maybe no courage at all, when you understand that people in far away lands are a lot more similar to people where u live than different
Kashmir was kinda botched... But everything else was awesome!

Hey BJS! If i may...This video is an awful one..Where is the spirit of it ? What is that crowd? Who plays the percussion? He destroyed Kashmir..OMG! This is the tribute you were talking about? I think you can do better...plz dont behave like you already have it all..cause this is amateur work. No hard feelings
Hey Johnny!
Thanks for the feedback. Of course, you may leave your opinion on the video and that is totally fine with us. We know that accepting criticism is part of the job and we respect everyone's opinions about our work; not all our videos please everyone.
However, we do find it a bit strange to assume we're "behaving like we have it all" based on our work, and we find that a judgment on our personal behavior is quite odd coming from a viewer of this video.
But no worries, no hard feelings whatsoever :).
Mike Dawes is a legend of the instrument.
