cool dad. A dad that makes his son sandwhichs is a Dad that makes an impact in his son's life. Its the small things like that that us sons remember the most
I love that he puts the whole lettuce leaf on the bread first so that when i take my first bite if i don't go all the way through the lettuce completely I end up pulling the whole sandwich out onto my lap and now I'm wearing it! Such a fashion forward statement!
Been using Balsamic on sandwiches for a good 15 years now. Learned from the deli lady who used to own a shop near by. Takes everything to the next level.
Thinking the same thing. The lettuce barrier was one thing my parents never understood. Every time my dad made my lunch the bread of my sandwich was always soggy
The art of sandwich-making has changed about as much as the art of making katanas in the past 8 years. It's relevant, entertaining, and well done. Seems like good reason to recommend it in my opinion!
Awesome. Everyone underestimates the power of the diagonal cut. Cutting sandwiches along the diagonal really brings out the flavor though. Thanks for the great video.
I was alright with your mayonnaise shenanigans, but once you started bunching up to avoid a flat sandwich I lost it. What kind of chaotic wonderland do you think we live in you madman!
I watch these videos whenever I know I'll have to eat (going out, at a friends house, parents wont be home) so by the time the meal rolls around I'm starving.
Thanks jack got some great tips, especially not putting my mayo on the actual bread >.> Something to try out yourself Jack, Seasoning the tomatoes seperatly seems to really give the sandwich an extra boost in flavor, I learn't it from my mum then saw a Gordon Ramsay video which confirmed it. Give it a shot you won't regret it! Thanks!
CookieCraft LP Yes. Tomatoes were labeled a vegetable by the Supreme Court so as to get them around a taxation on fruits way back in the day. Botanically, tomatoes are a fruit. Legislatively, they are a vegetable.
I wasn't about to click on this when i mistakenly put my cursor on the video and saw the guy's smile. Any person who smiles that passionately about food is someone id love to learn cooking from. You're doing great btw!!
These are actually really good and simple tips for making a better sandwich. And this guy seems like he knows how to make a good sandwich, fat guys make good sandwiches. respect and keep the videos coming. Ps. I made this sandwich for school the other day and during lunch time it was delicous! and much better than paing $10 for a subway sandwich(thats how much subway footlongs cost in Canada)
1.You can put the mayo directly on the bread, that is a layer (oil) that will protect it from the wet lettuce or tomato or dressings just dont add alot or it will sog the bread. 2.Keep the mayo and cheese separate. 3.Only put seasoning and dressing on the veggies. 4.Best order of assembly from bottom up is bread, mayo, lettuce, tomato, dressing, seasonings, meats, cheese, bread. 5.Best eaten when cheese is first layer to hit your tongue.(upside down of my assembly)
you know jakatak69, this one of or my favorite channel. the stuff you do is good and is what i and everyone wants. i especially love the product reviews. I have tried almost all of your stuff and they live up to your word. I also like the facts that your keeping its simple and you're talking fits whats going on just right. keep up the good work and the great show
I agree with jack 100% on the meat thing. Don’t ever buy the pre sliced stuff. You don’t really know how long it’s been sitting out and it tastes rancid. But when they slice it fresh in front of you, it tastes so much better for so much longer
He's right, I was that kid that got low effort sandwiches that went soggy in the Tupperware I got them in so I never ate them. Really fucked with my eating habits in the long run and probably hurt my growth as a child.
I love putting mayo and other condiments on the lettuce, or anywhere not on the bread. You actually use less and taste it more (in general, a serving size of mayo is 1-2 tablespoons, you can easily use that much on each slice of bread alone, plus, again, you don't really get the flavor). And I also prefer a spoon to a butter knife. I usually get picked on for these habits, but ppl still compliment my sammiches =)
Mayo on the lettuce??? That's just crazy talk. Never ever had a "soggy" sandwich by putting mayo or mustard right on the bread. Been putting Balsamic Vinegar on our sandwiches for years now, too. So good! ... but it makes them soggy as hell.
Thank you Jack for uploading this video. It is amazing how many people think that making a sandwich is just breat and stuff in the middle. I used to work at a sandwich shop, and there is an art to be able to building it so it can be eaten without it falling apart on the eater
I just started at Safeway deli; no one really shows you how to pile the toppings correctly. thus I'm hoping to see how; plus how to use /change gloves during it including cutting glove, Safeway's policy
Thanks for the tips. I did not know about sprinkling celery salt on the tomatoes. I could not spread the mayo on my spring salad mix like you did on your lettuce, but I loved the way you draped the meat & cheese. My cheese did not drape since it was the pre sliced American cheese that comes in a package. In the future I will splurge & get the thin deli sliced. There is nothing better than a fresh sandwich. These little tips added up to a lovely taste presentation. Keep up the good work!
I have heard that Ezekiel Bread is good and healthy but you must like grainy bread to enjoy. I love whole grain bread so it works for me. google the benefits of Ezekiel Bread.
Yeah it should. The interesting thing about woman belonging in the kitchen and making us sandwiches is that despite that men still make better sandwiches. I would never trust a woman to make my sandwich properly.
My best and craziest sandwich is: Bread, pesto (green vegetable based butter, which is super yummie!), pickles/cucumber (not pickled pickles), fried egg, cooked karbonade (swedish meat shaped like a burger, but it's not a burger), ketchup, pepper and seasoning, dressing if I/you felt like it, cheeze and last a piece of bread. A nice big sandwich with tons of flavour, some healthy stuff in it and a great breakfast, lunch or dinner. I gotta make that sandwich again *drools*

always salt n pepper the tomatoes on a sandwich, adds alot of flavor.
Yeah, it's not unusual to use salt and pepper
CarnageMc5 that’s false, not sure where you got that from
Salt is actually pretty bad for your heart but I guess a little won't do do much
Rafay From the salt and pepper?
I can understand the salt but why the pepper

NEVER place tomatoes on cheese. The acid messes it up if it sits in a bag for two hours. Otherwise, this is perfect.
I did this once, came back to my sammy and realized the cheese just tasted bitter/sour
Garry Perkins I had no idea. Great tip 👍🏽
