A slice or two of ripened red delicious tomato is an excellent addition to the sandwich. Some people add diced celery and/or sliced sweet (or dill) pickles. I've even seen black olives served in tuna fish sandwiches, or very thin sliced carrots.
2 cans of tuna, 3 chopped hard boiled eggs, chopped celery, chopped pickles, chopped red onions, mayonnaise, mustard. Mix well. Chill. That’s how I make mine.

It is unsanitary.
I prefer sweet onions instead of shallots. I like a spoonful of lemon juice and a little balsamic vinaigrette salad dressing each time too. If you need to sweeten it up for kids put carrots into the food processor and add the results to the salad. I've come to prefer chopped green cabbage instead of lettuce and celery. It gives lots of crunch and extends the salad well. Crushed walnuts are excellent too. Avocado on top is great. Try adding rinsed capers if you want to experiment. I add them every time now. Tuna salad is one of those great things that you can keep trying different things in it and tasting it and adjusting it as you go along.

I really like the extra flavors you added after the shallots. I never would have thought of all those but like them all. Thanks for sharing. I always keep my tuna in the fridge so it's cold when I make the salad.
I also love Tuna Crunch by adding diced celery, carrot, sweet red pepper and scallion. Served on white bread with a crescent of salty potato chips and a cold chocolate milk. Its delicious!
I add finely chopped celery, some chopped pickles and black pepper with mayo and a bit of onion. No salt or mustard. I love them grilled with swiss cheese on rye with seeds. This sandwich looks good, too, though. I could eat tuna every day!
My mother use to put a bunch of English muffin halves on a baking sheet, then put a dollop of prepared tuna (mayo, onion, relish, etc), a slice of tomato and a slice of Swiss cheese on top, then she would bake until warm in the middle and melted on top. A little char on the cheese adds more flavor. Then she would put a dollop of yellow or Dijon mustard on top and serve as a meal for easy weeknight dinners.
You can also add chopped dill pickles and if you like something crunchy, chopped onions, chopped celery, chopped carrots. Can also add sliced tomato. Hits THE SPOT!! I love tuna salad. Another great sandwich: sardines on whole wheat with cilantro (aka Chinese parsley) and tartar sauce. Delicious and healthy!
I mix all ingredients together, except the tuna, then gently fold the tuna in last. This prevents making tuna mush. I sometimes add a few golden raisins to the salad
I usually add bread and butter pickles to the tuna and if I want lemon juice or other spices to it like salt and pepper or cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes
I add a finely chopped boiled egg and tender celery leaves plus a tbs of minced onion and garlic soaked in vinegar. If the Tuna is in a good oil I add some of the oil too.

I was chef in restaurant. Customers like tuna sandwich with mayo, relish, hard boiled egg (minced) minced vedalia onion, butter on bread. with a sprinkle of black pepper on egg. I also personally add bit of chopped celery, and parsley, Vanessa.
I make mine with mayo, yellow mustard, lemon juice, green onions, romaine lettuce, salt, and pepper. Serve on bread then top of with cheese, put it in the toaster oven to melt the cheese. Then put some sliced tomatoes on top with a little ranch dressing and it's so good.
Over the years, I've tried many versions of tuna salad, and I'm going to try this version! On toasted bread! I usually use pickle relish but I bet fresh dill will taste great with tuna. Thanks.
I put onion or celery in my tuna salad with some garlic salt & pepper. Sometimes I add a bit of lemon juice, 🍋, cooked shrimp(cut), crab meat if available... for mayo, I like Blue Plate brand or Dukes. 👍 ...
Brian...I probably wouldn't, but it's a personal preference😊 I guess some people like A LOT of mayo. on their sandwich...you sure drew a lot of responses😄
Vicki Floyd Isn't funny how some people get so riled about someone other than themselves having an opinion? Such outrage over an opinion about tuna salad. LMAO!
Love a good tuna sandwich. I add about a teaspoon of fresh lemon juice to a 2-can recipe. Only problem here is waiting the 30 minutes whilst it's in the frig. 😊
I like to use lemon juice too. And the best way to do the mayo is one sandwich at a time that way it'll stay fresh 4 times as long. And an even better way is stirring in shredded cheese and bacon bits on buttered French bread and grilled to a golden perfection
I like to add mayo, mustard, dice pickles, dice celery and crushed Potatoes chips all mixed in the tuna and spread it on sandwich bread and top it with lots of lettuce. I love it ! Easy to make Thank you for your video Merry Chritmas
Sounds and Looks delicious. I love tuna fish sandwiches. I sometimes add celery, chopped onions and chopped sweet pickles. And I sometimes make a tuna melt ... a grilled cheese tuna fish sandwich.
Melt a half stick of butter with half-and-half (even the fat-free variety or a mixture of other combinations regular milks as well to suit the fat profile you're looking for), and take it off the stove to stir in a hearty handful or more grated pecorino Romano or Parmigiano Reggiano. Drain oneortwo cans of tuna and empty the contents into the sauce, folding it in as you go. Toss that with some pasta of any shape really for a quick pantry meal that you may already even have all the ingredients on hand for. We always throw in a couple of handfuls of peas as well to make it a complete meal.
Easy & Simple: In a bowl, add two cans of chopped tuna, 4 hard boiled eggs, and mayonnaise and mix by hand to desired consistency. Add lemon juice and celery salt to taste. Anything else is optional. Ready immediately, but chill if preferred.
One trick l learned years ago from my brother who worked at a restaurant that has amazing tuna sandwiches. Is to add about a tablespoon of any kind of vinegar to a small can. It takes away the strong fishy taste. One of the best tricks for food I have learned. Blessings from California. 🦋 The restaurant is Marie Callender’s. You may have seen their chicken pot pies 🥧 at your local grocery store.

My favorite tuna sammich is this: 2 cans tuna in water, drained. Put in a bowl and mince with a fork, add good mayo to taste and texture, add pepper, ( no salt, tuna is already salty ) celery seed, 1/3 of a mashed small Avocado, 1/2 can black olives -- drained, rinsed, cut into small pieces, 1/2 of a medium onion, ( white or red, minced in very small pieces) light rye bread -- lightly buttered on on side and toasted in a pan, red leaf lettuce or spinach leaves on one piece of bread, thinly sliced tomato on the other slice with your tuna mixture in the middle............ Now this video has made me hungry...........
Your recipe is a little similar to mine, except I add one hard boiled egg shopped, a bit more mustard and a little less mayo, some celery cut in small pieces and no paprika. Gotta have that celery crunch!
I like a lot of Mayo, so your sandwich looked delicious to me. 😋I like mine the same as yours but I also add diced celery, and instead of Dill, I use diced Dill pickle, try it, it's good.
Mayo, dill, chopped celery, shredded carrot, chopped onion, relish or chopped pickles. Dash of mustard, maybe a bit of cayenne pepoer. Then salt and pepper to taste. On toasted white bread, or grilled with Swiss or provolone (tuna melt). A slice of tomato and a bit of lettuce on the cold version is good, too.

I also add finely chopped celery leaves. Served with a kosher pickle and a green olive.
I'm from New York, and the sandwiches I get from our local deli are...
AMAZING! 🤤
And this was a good example of that taste 👍
I was chef in restaurant. Customers like tuna sandwich with mayo, relish, hard boiled egg (minced) minced vedalia onion, butter on bread. with a sprinkle of black pepper on egg. I also personally add bit of chopped celery, and parsley, Vanessa.
I only use white chunk tuna in water. Also, I like swiss cheese, onion, and tomato slices with it on sourdough bread. yummy!
Looks delish! I also add two finely chopped hard boiled eggs and diced bread and butter pickles.
Minus the green onion and this sounds delish.
Sounds good. I'm gonna try that!!
No chopped celery or dill pickle?
BARF
Ah, sounds like a tuna melt?
Fresh avocado is nice and fresh to spread it on bread first instead of using more Mayo
I have tried it, it is super delicious sss. Thank you for sharing ❤
Over the years, I've tried many versions of tuna salad, and I'm going to try this version! On toasted bread! I usually use pickle relish but I bet fresh dill will taste great with tuna. Thanks.
I like egg and diced pickles to add to my tuna ! Yum 🤤 !
I put onion or celery in my tuna salad with some garlic salt & pepper. Sometimes I add a bit of lemon juice, 🍋, cooked shrimp(cut), crab meat if available... for mayo, I like Blue Plate brand or Dukes. 👍 ...
Looks good ,but why spread mayonnaise on the bread, there's plenty in the filling
You're not eating it, so WHY are you complaining!
Because some like more mayo, dur.
Jim Arnold agreed. It's a mayo sandwich and the mayo has enough salt as it is.
Brian...I probably wouldn't, but it's a personal preference😊 I guess some people like A LOT of mayo. on
their sandwich...you sure drew a lot of responses😄
How dopey have you to be not to know how to make a sandwich?
Add sweet corn for a nice touch as well. I have also added water chestnuts for a bit of crunch.
I like to add mayo, mustard, dice pickles, dice celery and crushed
Potatoes chips all mixed in the tuna and spread it on sandwich
bread and top it with lots of lettuce. I love it ! Easy to make
Thank you for your video Merry Chritmas
Sounds good! Merry Christmas 😍😍
It sounds odd but I bet crushed potato chips are good. I know that eating potato chips along with a tuna sandwich is really good.
What kind of potato chips?
I love the way you made it
Me: in a bowl, add 2 cans of tuna, mayo, and ketchup. Im lazy but its pretty good
2 cans of tuna, 3 hard boiled eggs, chopped celery, chopped red onions, chopped pickles, mayonnaise, mustard. Mix well. Chill. That’s how I make mine.
Thanks for sharing!
I was wondering how to remove strong fishy smell n taste. Thanks a lot for ur tip to use vinegar on it. 👍
I love sandwich and music. Thanks from France🗼😊👍👍
Nice delicious looking sandwich !! I'm eating one right now as I watch You make Yours. One little thing I also add is a squirt of concentrated lemon juice and a few slices of fresh tomato when I have it - - - -Yuummmm
This Iooks good too. My mom used to make it with mayonnaise and shredded Iettuce, chunks of ceIery, onion (I cook mine first) with a dollop of sweet pickIe reIish ... I aIso Iike the bread toasted with meIted cheese (caIIed a tuna meIt).🌹
This looks delicious! 😋 I use onion, celery, garlic powder, pepper and lemon with lots of mayo of course. I will try the dill sometime. Thanks!
All I need to do know is learn how to use a can opener
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Fxxx it I’d just use a knife to go stabby stab
The last time I had tuna was seven months ago and I stopped eating it because I cut myself when opening the can
My right hand is broken because the can opener fall on my right hand
@@G7z1Official get better!!

That looks good and easy. I like to add boiled egg and chopped celery.
Watching this is making me hungry. OK; off to the kitchen. Thank you (Ohio Dec 19)
Must have the crunch & freshness of finely chopped celery
I'm not usually a big fan of celery....but on a tuna sam.....gotta have it. Love the crunch. Plus some celery seed if I can find it.
I mix with spinach, oil, vinegar and garlic salt and mayo of course
And sometimes a slice of cheese.

Super I like tuna sandwich so much thank you very much for sharing this👍
My favorite tuna sammich is this: 2 cans tuna in water, drained.
Sweet pickle relish, onion, bell 🫑 and seasoning ( salt, black pepper, paprika and garlic powder)
I like a lot of Mayo, so your sandwich looked delicious to me. 😋I like mine the same as yours but I also add diced celery, and instead of Dill, I use diced Dill pickle, try it, it's good.
So good
I like this..simple..quick and no doubt delicious.
Very good! I add boiled eggs and pickles . Thank you so much for sharing 🤩
