- As a gay couple we never thought we would have children and recently decided to embark on the biggest journey of our lives, parenting through surrogacy. Now we are a gay couple on our way to having a family.
The COVID pandemic made things got even more difficult. Our adventure has taken us from London, to Istanbul, Connecticut to New York.
We have had so much to learn about matching with a surrogate/gestational carrier, forming a relationship, egg retrieval IVF, creating embryos, embryo implantation, PGS testing, HcG levels, pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, challenges with pregnancy and loads more.
We've kept a video diary of our surrogacy journey over the 14 months on our way to having children with the help of our wonderful surrogate and egg donor. It's had it's ups and it's downs, it's happiness, worry and excitement.
We hope this shows a real and candid view on what it is like to be a gay couple, with the support of the two most incredible women, one who has donated her eggs and one who is nurturing our child and some of the realities of the surrogacy process. Many many congratulations Sanjay and Doug for taking up the gestational surrogacy route towards your fatherhood journey. I was always keen to know, when would you guys start up your surrogacy journey, When ever I would watch any video by other same sex couple. I would immediately and always think about both of you. It's like a dream coming true to learn about that you guys are 3 months pregnant already. I am so glad and excited to know of it. Thanks for sharing your path towards parenthood on you tube. Keep updating. When ever I see our "punjabi Munda" Sanjay Sood, a deep sense of respect comes automatically. This is so awesome guys! I am expecting my first grandchild early October also I am so excited and my second grandchild in December. I know my first grandchild is a boy and hoping the second will be a girl. I had 2 boys from a heterosexual marriage and never had a girl which I so desire.

The hardest part is to find a surrogate mother then a choice of ivf would be much more successful. We've been the same path and arranged a surrogate in UK then traveled to Cyprus we also wanted gender selection Dr Vedat helped us to have our twins

They have deliberately deprived this baby of mother in her life. This is pure misogyny. It goes both ways too, I don’t like mums who isolate kids from their dad either. Watch any tv programme where the kids were put up for adoption and the sheer yearning for the biological mother is extremely strong. Sorry, did I say woman? I meant ‘birthing person’ or is is ‘uterus bearer’ these days?
