How did I miss this!! I tried to do something like this with inks and it bled through my wax paper and stained my countertop pretty good. Had to use some elbow grease to remove it! Lol Thanks for tutorial!!
OMG, I just watched her video and just happened to scroll through the comments and saw your comment, I can't help but LOL. My goodness hope this video helped you for next time.
My nephew is doing Dinosaurs for the month of June, and I saw a wonderful Dinosaurs glitter project on u tube. I just ordered a small twelve pack of Dinosaurs. and I been saving different types of glass and plastic mayonnaise jars. 😊the Dinosaur is placed on the lid using a hot glue gun the glue to the feet, and you add water and the glitter and put the lid on tight. That's it😊.and I never thought of using aluminum foil, just use a small table Bleander and chop up the pieces for a couple of seconds. 😊
Would you make a Video on how to use mica powders that are glow in the dark? I got some for Christmas and have no idea how to best use them ~ Thanks in Advance~
What exactly are ya using for your colors ! I'm up in the clouds far as ordering from l Amazon ! I don't get the baking here . What was your set up asking Google a time frame ? On line or computer . How?
So honestly I have not tried it that way but I would think that you would have to seal it really really good with either several layers of mod podge or a clear coat
No because my grandson used it all making pictures. But I have done letter key chains with sea salt. The looked very cool. The video was la long time ago I’ll have to find it and tag it.
This Mica powder came from Amazon. I am sure you can use any Mica powder this just happens to be the box I grabbed I have several different brands are from Amazon. And I also use the loose I shadow From the dollar tree for Mica.
Why? First of all salt will dissolve in moisture. How does one adhere this "glitter". Glue has water. I suppose once the salt melts, you will be left with the mica powder, which in itself is always fun. It will also be heavy on paper. However, for the cost of the mica powder alone, which runs $15 to $20 or so, you can get a whole bunch of actual "polyester" glitter in 50 colors for half the price. Sometimes DIY projects fail, I think this recipe will fall into that category. Not something I would waste my money nor my time on. Good video though, looks like you had fun making this "shimmer salt". I wonder how this would look using it on ice in the winter.... lol.
It was something I had found on Pinterest and thought was cool. It Is quite thick but not as heavy as you would think. I did put it under epoxy and surprisingly it works OK. It wouldn’t be any sort of go to glitter but just something fun and different to try.
Hello ! Just tuned in . .
This is something I have never tried!
Glitter making at home or DIY !

How?
I usually go to Michael's or Hobby Lobby
a little expensive per bottle wow !
If you have mica powder, why do you need anything else as glitter?
Mica powder is pigment only it’s way too fine. It’s even more fine than the finest glitter
Where is the sparkle?
What happens if your project with the glitter gets wet? Was thinking of putting on the outside of a drinking glass.
So honestly I have not tried it that way but I would think that you would have to seal it really really good with either several layers of mod podge or a clear coat
I'm curious now how using the food coloring method would come out. 🤔
This is salt, food coloring is a liquid... think about it
Thankyou for the info🥰 🥰
Can we put it in slime?
Have you done a resin piece to show the results after using the Sea Salt and Mica Powder?
No because my grandson used it all making pictures. But I have done letter key chains with sea salt. The looked very cool. The video was la long time ago I’ll have to find it and tag it.
wonder IF iodized could be used?
Have you used this blend in candles/wax melts?
I might have missed it but was wondering where you got the box of mica?

@@themostcraftynurse3914 thank you! And the eye shadow idea from dt is great! Thanks!
Does it look fine
It’s course but I pulled it out the other day and the color is still good. More for a fun project then to make something important.
Have you ever done a resin memory box . Would love to see how it would looks :)
That’s a great idea! We will try one.
Have you ever tried using this in resin? Wonder how the salt would react in resin?
Yes I have a video using Eason salt in resin letter keychains. It gives a cool look just don’t use to much salt or it starts to sweat over time.
@@themostcraftynurse3914 thanks I will check it out
Steve McDonald has a great epoxy channel. He has put some really different things in epoxy
@@michellebloxsom5905 yes thanks I do watch him.
