A very good and well thought out video. I have written two books but I will be really starting as a writer when I retire in less than a year. It is a long game and there's no good in being impatient. Persistence is the key and it's a necessary attitude .

The publishing process is longer than most people realize I think. Good video!

Do you normally have issues with brainstorming or coming up with new story ideas?

Sometimes... This is actually something that I want to do a video! Maybe it will be coming soon... :)

This is helpful. I studied structure in 2022 and did my outline and research in 2023 and finally writing the story in 2024 and im about 120 pages into a 400 page thriller fiction story. Its working. I will pound the ground for agents this summer as i get close to finish

That is awesome! I would suggest you have a completed manuscript (and do a round of revisions) before you start querying agents!

@@wrestlingwithwords thanks for your advice. I will apply it. You continue to see me watch and comment on more of your videos. My request is if you can do s video on how to vet credible literary agents without getting scammed because i can tell the scammers are out there

@ComicPower for sure! That is a good idea. I was thinking of doing a video on some of the different scams out there regarding publishers, agents, and contests!

I've just started my queries this week, after a two years plus writing process for my debut novel. It took a lot of people to help get me to this point and now it is strangely lonely with trying to interest an agent. Rejections are going to hurt especially when they reject it after a request for the full manuscript😶

First off, congrats on even getting to the querying stage. Not many writers even complete a manuscript. The biggest thing is to keep writing, even while you're in this next phase! Rejection is tough, but it is part of the process.
