@@antoniocenteno1483 I didn't say it wasn't hated a lot, but my point is it's also liked by a lot too, I mean even most of the st anger music videos have more likes than dislikes, a lot more likes than dislikes, that says something. Death Magnetic & Saint Anger are totally different albums. Anger is about the bad feeling, the shit, the rage and all this stuff metallica´s been holding since they begun, that explode in the Saint Anger album with the left of Jason. Death Magnetic is the new age of Metallica, stronger and really influenced by Rob Trujillo. Both kickass.
@@tuievans it really isn't. What james is trying to do isn't up his alley. Those songs dont work for metallica but there is some meat in there for sure. Check out 'todd barriage's cover of frantic
Yea at anger is a Bette rap I’m tho to me, it’s honestly up there with the best of Metallica in my opinion. Drums a little odd but not enough to not make it an awesome album
I think what people don't realise, is that if thrash metal was invented in the 2000s, and this song was on Metallica's first album, they would still be considered the pioneers of thrash. And that is an impressive testament to them.
Interlet nnamlap Nope. Though a few of the riffs in this song are okay most are just very boring, the lyrics are fucking brain dead, the way the song progresses is nonsensical, it has no solo, on the album it also has horrible production and horrible vocals. Metallica were an incredible pioneer of thrash with their first 4 albums, and some of the black album and half of hardwired are good but they fell off decades ago.
Folks that dislike st. Anger lack the mental compacity to recieve or accept the true emotion of genuine the art of music created to display motivational and manageable hate or symptoms of madness. It's like this if your truly a Metallica fan you would also know that these guys could write a disco,rap/hip hop or even country love or heart break song and it would still enter the ears as. something great and listen worthy. I'd be willing to say Metallica could do new kids on the block song and still be head bang worthy.
St. Anger was made to compete with the other Hard Rock Bands. Korn, SOAD, Rage, Staind, Chevelle. And so on. Many people didn't like the album, too mellow (so they say) I didn't have a problem with it.
Sam De Paepe Word! And how James played the opening to Frantic is sick in this. Put a Rapper like Ice Cube, Eminem or even Nas. Ooooh the Collab!! That beat is hot!
It's metal, no one can doubt that. Load / Redload was hard rock. I quite liked it as well. I think you could still argue that St. Anger is thrash metal, which is where they originally came from. Just cause it doesn't have solos does not make it un-thrash. I like literally all Metallica albums...except the thing with Lou Reed.
Metallica's 6~8th albums have mysterious charm. At first, most fans, like me, blame the sudden change. But after listening again and again, I cannot help falling in the song...haha
iam an Australian and i love metallica i am 19 now so i was a little young to go see them then would love to go seem them now but no sign of them coming
St Anger is honestly underrated as fuck, there’s some songs I don’t like, but this song, the title track St Anger, Unnamed Feeling, Sweet Amber and Some Kind of Monster are all my personal favorites.
@BillKaulitzBabe49 I totally agree with you, but for one different reason. I think the album is good because of what they went through. It is so raw and on edge. I love that they kept going, also. Metallica are the best. Peace.
@MadKetz Don't speak for 'most of the fans'. Speak for yourself. They don't have a bad album. Do I love all their songs? No, but I will always be waiting for the next, because I love the band. This may produce a shit storm, but I cannot stop listening to 'Lulu". The collision of these two giants (in their genres), has made a new beast. Please take the time to learn the story of Lulu, herself, then listen again. Best when heard from beginning to end. For me, a masterpiece. Peace.
In all honesty, St. Anger WAS Metallica's weakest album. BUT, Metallica's worst is better than most bands best! St. Anger Rocks, Metallica rocks, METAL ROCKS!!! \m/
people said sooo much shit about st.anger, but when metallica came back, then the fans were crazy and the sold out shows were amazing.
I think the vocal minority made people think it was more hated than it actually was.

My lifestyle determines my diet style ( not so good as Yours but still )
😂😂😂😂😂
Bro literally the best comment ever haha
LOL... You made my day
St.Anger is an album I appreciate for its almost raw and chaotic feel. You can sense the rage emanating from the song.
Exactly why I love it
I dont get why the St. Anger album gets so much hate, its quite good ._.
the only bad thing is the lack of solos
Hampus Åberg Solos arent that important imo o-o
but it is a big part of metal
I like it very much!
Hampus Åberg maybe metallica said fuck what is a big part of metal, we're going to do our own thing! o.O

I don't get all the hate on st anger besides the mix being awful. Its a really good album.
Could not have said it better

Yes you do, that's why you wrote it here.
I don't like it but I like this song
Agree with you 🤘
It’s one of their best, fuck the haters I say!! They are sheep 🐑 following a trend, they don’t have their own opinions, they’re too simple for that!
This
St Anger is a brilliant album with a lot of badass songs, don't get why people hate it, the snare gives each St Anger song a heavy feel
It's a good album yeah but it needs a new mixing or remastering imo
Tell me the first minute and thirty seconds doesn't sound like a live Korn doodle. Kind of cool hearing this from Metallica.
That's what j thought
more like, yeah korn, you're right
and 4:05 is SOAD, studio version even has similar vocal harmonies to their style
Who else is here in 2019 bc they played frantic really good live this year
I'm here because I remember when this song first come out and it still jams
Probably the best live version of this song. Their Lisbon performance from 2019 is up there as well.
Also the frantic performance in copenhagen 2019 is quite good as well! But my favorite is still their libson one
@@lancerivera1763i’m glad to say I was there in Copenhagen 2019!
I swear the live versions of the St anger songs are so much better than the CD versions cause they don't have that annoying "over snare"
David Thompson the snare is off.
Yeah that
and kirk will play a solo, at least in this song
I'm still not to crazy about the "Fran tic tic tic" part
There is no frying pan in the songs when they play them live
Better than the album version
Morganstudios Except for vocals,in studio they were much better
It sounds better than the album version because the snare drum in the album version sounds like Lars is beating his dick on a trash can lid
ptschafer XD
The snare sounds better, and Kirk added a small solo thingy
Korea 06' best version of this song live check it out
These live versions show that St. Anger has a lot of untapped potential... they need to rerecord that album!
St. Anger was such an amazing album the mind blowing riffs completely removed the need of solos.
Very well said!
I'm not laughing at that joke 🙄

"an impressive *testament* to them"
Was that intentional?
Back when Robert was trying to impress ppl with his crawling as the new bassist.
Bassam Hamdi I saw them a few days ago and was hoping to see him do his crawling thing lol
Yeah he doesn't do it any more he got bored from it i guess lol
He still does it with Kirk ;p
Late reply but the man's 56 years old as of 2021. I can imagine he's not able to do the crawl as much anymore lmao
best Frantic live

I love how James just points at the crowed and they say"HEY",but when Lars does it,nobody follows along
No one cares about Lars lol
Frontman and a drummer lol
la mejor improvisacion de metallica.!!! La madre!!
This feels better than the original studio version. Kirk really spices it up!

METALLICA looked old back then but compared to now they look so young.Perspective in time I suppose, huh??
I think that's actually because they... they're growing old o_O
Pcdrom well... they got fat when they stopped drinking! How weird is that
Glen Q They still look good today. I mean, look at Axl Rose. Trust me, these guys are thin.
stinkydo0d i didnt say what time period but during 2005 or so
Glen Q Oh, I'm talking about how they all look now though.
Look at the end of the day it is still Metallica! They are still the best and we should be supportive cause we are there fans! Thats what fans are!

@Smarks Taker More like Chris Jericho around 2005. Blue eyes, same haircut and facial hair
L'Odyssée X pac on guitar
And Sheldon Cooper on drums
The lil jam at the beginning is AMAZINGLY funky :D I love the crowd reaction
Kirk even squeezed in a little solo lol they're so freaking badass it's ridiculous!!

Thats not sitting, its a crab walk

This song just is great :)
The best from St.Anger!!

Your living a lion, your living a lion. Darn tootin James .
Wow, that was a really good concert! REALLY good!
I honestly like the sound of Lars's snare on St Anger. It just fits the songs much better.
Wow this live version is awesome!!!
Kirk's backing vocals would actually sound pretty good for metal if he is in pitch, lol.
This song is a fantastic headbanger live!
what guitar is james using
it's an ESP FRX with a fixed bridge :)

Infinity no worries mate!
it’s a custom esp ltd f-50, not a fixed bridge frx

real metal;P
nice solo and luv the jam at the start.
