You guys are awesome, I’m currently in the army as an 11B and want to make the switch to go TACP. It’s amazing to see now all these former operators are coming out to give valuable knowledge to the community. Thank you all so much for what you do!
We appreciate that! Thank you for your service.
Have you started the transition? This is what I want to do too, also a bravo
@@ymag_8670 yes, I have. I enlisted last wed nesday
Amazing insight into the SW pipeline! My son started SWCC today - so great hearing what's in store from this perspective. Fantastic channel.
How’d it go?
Update?
“Gotta have the touch before the touchdown” I’m writing that one down !
Catch* not touch*
Started night classes after work to go paramedic and found out about PJ and their mission set so started training instead. I know you can’t go wrong any career field but was very curious about how to request and solidify that career field; now we know. Great information; thanks guys
Hey- thanks for the words! Excited to hear you’re training with that end goal in mind. Go crush. - A
Still pursuing that?
I’m leaving in 3 days for SR. This video came out at just the perfect time !
Nice- may the odds be ever in your favor. -A
How's it going?
Id also like to know
The part about peer reviews was super nice to hear you go over
Thank you! -A
Hey guys thanks as usual for the great information about whats needed and starting the pipeline. My son is training hard and should be ready in the next couple of months. The leadership examples were awesome. Being a leader prior to entry could definitely help. Also great to hear that trainers come and work with the recruits in BMT ( the USMC could learn a thing or 3 from USAF in SpecWF). Sorry this is so long, but thanks again for all you do to help prepare the younger generation for USAF Special Warfare operations.
Thanks for the words, and we hope to help. Good luck to the entire family as you undertake this journey! -A
Hey guys. Idk if it was accidental, but from minute 15 to about 16:30 you could see the guest’s face on the video. Don’t know if it’s a big deal just wanted to let you know just in case.
Definitely not an accident. Appreciate the heads up. 🍑
@@OnesReady 👍. Also great video as always.
Thanks for this, plan to go through as SR.The Information you guys bring is gold.
Thank you! And good luck. -A
Smh prior service! I'm scratching and clawing to get back in. Captains of the failboat
what event did you not pass?
Hey, I got a question: I'm a powerlifter, should I get out of the gym to prepare to start the pipeline?...I heard you say towards the end of the video: run, swim, cals...I also heard you say you have to move heavy weight...I guess my biggest fear in only training with running, swimming, and cals is losing my size and maybe some of my strength...your recommendation would be greatly appreciated...
I'm on the opposite side. I'm a track runner who needs to be in the gym more. Just work on your weaknesses. They did a great episode on all the different PFT's you need to do. Fit your training to that.
I’m a powerlifter too. I still trained big 3 but less intensely while I introduced running (very slowly, I was 250-260 when I first started training so my legs and cardio needed to adjust greatly) and cals. I shipped out to basic at 232 and I’m here at SWCC at 212. I held onto a lot of mass and strength here but I am nowhere near as strong as before, obviously. Sprint intervals on swimming and running along with LSDs were my bread and butter, slowly increasing pace and volume. I eventually stopped training squats because my legs were getting absolutely trashed
Up your protein intake and I believe your strength won’t go anywhere. I personally swim, run, and do an hour of resistance training 4-6 days a week and haven’t lost the slightest amount of strength. Maybe plateaued, but never lost any
Your goal here should be ‘I need to train to accomplish the task at hand’ and *not* “I like the way I look or the numbers I lift, I don’t wanna lose those in pursuit of accomplishment.” Typically, your fitness, body composition and focus should change throughout the pipeline. A&S is a lot of high intensity long duration cardio-specific events. If you don’t have that base, it won’t matter what your one rep clean looks like.
Strength is never a weakness, but if you've been lifting seriously for more than a year or so and have respectable numbers, you're going to have diminishing returns. You'd be better off doing more Crossfitty type work, as much as I hate to say it.
The flipside is that after you get hammered with all the calisthenics and cardio in SWCC, A&S, TACP, etc., you'll have a greater work capacity. You'll get back in the gym, and after a month or so, the weight you only used to be able to squat for five reps you'll be able to do for 15-20. Just don't underestimate the fact that the main event of all these career fields is calisthenics, cardio and swimming, not necessarily in that order.
All of this said, don't stop lifting entirely, but make it a priority to get better at your weaknesses. How far can you bear crawl? Can you do underwaters on an interval? Are you gassed after doing 20 8-counts? All much more important questions than what you bench, at least for right now.
Will officers start to attend SWCC any time soon ?
This is the question that I want to know.
Dope interview guys! Do CCT's ever have their own missions or do they just augment other sof teams? Either way its a cool job.
Yes. Check out our other content for full descriptions of everything CCT/AFSPECWAR. -A
i’m graduating this year i’d like to become a cct or tacp what would the best route be?
So what is the best boot? 😂😂😂
Question for Peaches. Realistically how well does being a CCT translate to being a civilian air traffic controller. If I were to do x amount of years and want to get out and become a normal controller how feasible is that really?
It’s very feasible. I will say though, most CCT don’t go the ATC route because the money and type of people we are generally doesn’t translate to ATC if that makes any kind of sense. 🍑
@@OnesReady no it makes complete sense. Going from jumping out of planes to sitting in a tower isn't very enticing. But I suppose this begs the question what do most CCT do after they can't operate anymore? I know that's really broad but is there an actual stereotype for post service CCT?
A wide variety of things really. We have people that go into LEO, three letter agencies, contracting, , corporate companies, entrepreneurs, etc. The SOF community and training we receive really gives you the skills to be successful in anything you do.
@@OnesReady Thank you so much I really appreciate the info. Please keep putting out the superb content that you guys always do.
I've talked to two different SW recruiters breifly over the last few months and had differing answers. Can a Army cross trainee with a dd368 come in without a SWOE-V contract in otherwords go specifically for one thing like PJ or CCT etc...
Also would it make a difference if that same person ended up not making it through the pickup process with a dd368 and ended up having a dd214. Would they now have to go in with a SWOE-V contract?
Or does it not matter at all is it the exact same process for everyone?
Short answer- you’re coming in for SWOE-V like everyone else. You can declare your AFSC and try for whatever you’d like specifically, but yeah- same same. Happy hunting. -A
If a candidate goes through the prep course..gets to A&S..washes out of A&S, not due to quitting but to either physical or medical..can they retry A&S? Is there a process to try to get back into A&S? Or are they completely done & the Air Force gives them a different job.
Depends on the situation. We can’t hold people out of training indefinitely but we make every attempt to get folks back into the course if possible. -T
❤️
🤙
Is it unheard of for a E-6 to cross train?
Not unheard of, but it's more difficult to do that an E-5.
Definitely not I’m at swcc rn and we have two E-6’s about to move onto A&S in two weeks
@@cassiuszumwalt4428 awesome! Thanks man! Ever since I made tech everyone keeps saying it’s going to be almost impossible to get in
I am a recent college grad and have always been interested in serving.. But I am very hesitant due to the covid vaccine requirement and side effects like myocarditis etc.. Do you guys have any comment on this?
Yep. We do- and it’s already out there. Check out our channel- it’s in the “Stop Asking These Questions” episode. -A
I am a high-school student. What should I do now to become a pj?
Attention to detail and internalizing information the first time you hear it is a good place to start. -A
I feel like I had seen that you need some amount of college credits or high test scores for that contract. Hope you make it, follow your dreams!
