Jack, Great Video....loved the opening effects...cool stuff! In the virgina house basement do you think using a mesh AP would have given the same performance as the AC pro, leaving the hardwire ethernet open for direct connection?
Sadly no, that wouldn't work at all. That house has such thick walls that I couldn't pick up a wifi signal from the access point in the room right above the basement.

Absolutely not criticizing, and maybe your reply will be "good old availability issue", but for the sake of the use case that you have with only one cable but in need of an IP+TV components, this would actually be THE USE CASE of an In-Wall HD with its internal 4 Jacks in addition to being an AP that can be mounted completely hidden to the wall outlet. Not to mention the U6 In-Wall was just release to GA yesterday for you North American guys (Europe is still waiting).
Did u think about them removing the 2 ports on the u6 pro with the new inwall as that has multiple ports and they thought the 2 on the uap ac pro where under used
The second port is for sure a overrated feature, but also maybe the internal board simply don't have space to a new keystone, new lines and new controller.
I'm fine with it not having 2.5, i never manage to pass 50mg/s with my U6LR unless i go with a 160 band, which has way to much interference, so for me its not an issue.
The desire for 2.5g ports on AP's still a placebo right now and people chasing numbers. What use-case demands that multiple wireless devices need 500mb to the device? Steaming 4K???Nope...Zoom call?....Nope. As we move to 6E we'll need more AP' density to get that magic top performance number because of range limits of 6ghz. Do agree that dropping the second port is a step backwards that limits its use cases -- your example is a good one. Dropping the RGB is an odd one -- yes a little gimmicky but gives them a little flair. Don't see it as a cost item -- have to be talking about pennies in COGS difference.
Ummmm I go through that literally every day at work which is why I use the TP Link 660HD. Doing massive file transfers / editing on a laptop with files on a storage server so everything is consolidated with me and my employees.
@@MillerTechnicalServices If that's your workflow using WiFi to do that then cool. Feels more like a corner case for your environment, again totally cool. For my taste something where every second counts -- then it's hardware.
I get that and my use case is definitely on the edge. Same with my server needs. Most businesses deploying servers are using them for virtualization, backup, active directory… where 20TB may be plenty. All I need is copious amounts of storage 😂 gotta love video production!
I stopped your video after hearing that there is still no 2.5Gbit of Uplink. My Asus AX11000 gets 955Mbit in download without problems on an iPad. Not your mistake but ubiquity ... so pro … ? Nope.
I think Ubiquiti wants to kill off passive PoE. Their latest generation of cameras and switches don't support it. And I believe most network admins feel the same way. Standards-based af/at/bt is so much more interoperable and more power efficient. It does cost more in hardware capitol.
