WiFi 6 differences over 5 are mainly about being better at managing concurrent traffic per ax radio. WiFi 6E is where you will see real speed gains, since you can use larger bonded non over lapping channel widths. If you have good WiFi 5 deployment not, no reason to upgrade to 6 until 6E devices. 6E is the real game changer.

On the 80 Mhz band, I was able to get transfer speeds of 900 / 770Mb/s (depending on the direction) between my iPad Pro and PC which is on ethernet. I used the VLC iOS app which has a LAN “Sharing over Wifi” feature. I repeated the test with different movie files and the results were consistent.

Setting the channel to 48 indeed did the trick. Leaving it to the default setting, I was pulling down only less than 400 Mbps in my Macbook Air M1. With the change I got over 620 Mbps. Thanks for the tips.

@Mactelecom Networks, I see you have all devices except your gateway on a management VLAN, I have a Switch Pro Aggregation as well but can’t seem to get it to be on a different management vlan to my UDM pro. Any ideas? Additionally, the management vlan router is set to the aggregation switch could that be an issue? Not to mention I had to create port profiles in order to have my APs get IP addresses from the management vlan instead of changing it under the Management section which will stop me getting internet if I did change it.

Still trying to figure out the different use cases between U6-pro and LR too. The radios are confusing, since the Pro has higher gain than even the LR. supposedly the pro is wifi6 on the 2.4 radio, while the LR is only wifi 5 on the 2.4, but then the LR is 4x4 on 2.4 radio, so.... confusing product line up. I'm willing to listen to your explanation but how do you pass 5.3Gbps through a 1Gbps uplink at the same rate of throughput to the wired network? The math does not add up. Even if the Ethernet is included, the wired throughput is a bottleneck and will only pass 1Gbps despite the throughput of the radios. The Ethernet needs to be at least 5 or better yet 10 Gbps to take advantage of the throughput of the radios at full capacity.
If I have a 10Gbps wired interface passing traffic through a 1Gbps wired interface the 1Gbps interface is the bottleneck.

@@SethEFarrington To be fair the 4.8gbps is both ways together which is 2.4Gb either way. Gigabit ethernet is giga bit both ways at the same time so assuming your not in a lab and you wont hit the 2.4Gbps receiving anyway because you're limited by the recieving device, it's probably reasonable that it would max out at gigabit (or bottlenecked only slightly)

Problem with UniFi APs are, that there aren't any with 2.5gbit ethernet port. So you have UniFi AP with wifi6 which can handle 3gbit/s, but only on wifi side. That's a bummer. And I can achieve 615mbps with UniFi AP-AC Lite (also with 1gbit ethernet), so no reason to buy their wifi6 devices until they have at least 2.5gbit ethernet port. I don't understand this. @@MactelecomNetworks I agree with you, innovation is key and should always continue. This however hasn’t just been a recent supply chain/silicon issue. This has been an issue for at least the last few years with them. It got really bad during the middle of covid, and has eased some now but still exists. That’s just opinion based on what we have tried to purchase over the years and always having to find it at a higher price or wait. If you’re wanting to earn the enterprise space the gear needs to be readily accessible, imo. Grabbing ruckus, juniper, or Cisco gear is still pretty easy at the same time. I’m not sure if they grew too big too fast and are working it out or don’t have the manufacturer deals in place that others do and are suffering for it.
Price vs features and no licensing is fantastic but if I can’t buy a DM pro or an access point or you limit me to buy 2 or 4 at a time direct without trying to find it from a reseller at a higher price it seems (again imo) that they should step a bit back and work out the supply issue while launching (a little less) products. Once consistent in supply chain launch launch launch 🚀

Demand is higher than they can keep what parts in stock they can with the chip shortages. I do keep seeing them pop up over and over again. I couldn’t get one of their $8 injectors which I also wanted as they were sold out. But B&H has them them stock. Same $8 price and free shipping. A steal over the ones for sale on Amazon. It’s not ideal that you can’t just go and buy what you want when you want. It’s the current world we live in.

What? It doesn't have RGB? What will all of the Gamers do without RGB? This is a tragedy

too little, too late... wait for the 6E, and maybe they'll include 2.5gbps connection.

@Fallon Cohen yes yes what I meant was I thought the Wi-Fi 6 APS had 2.5 gig ports on them because of their throughput one of their AP has it I thought

Nope, that all only have 1Ghz ports. Seems strange they didn’t go with 2.5GB or 10GB. Personally I think they should have went with a 10GB port. Just because I think it’s more universal that 2.5GB and even 2.5GB doesn’t seem fast enough anyway.

@@Reedith Wifi 6 is not hitting 1 gbe in real world so no need for 2,5. gig. For 6E it can hit speeds above 1 gig but Wifi 6 standard no way
