❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Absolutely 100%
Same
Your wandering now what to do now you know this is the end Britian has fallen now your on your own 🏴✌️🖕how relevant are his forty year old lyrics today we don't really have many or any youngester who are socially and morally on it the man is leaving a great legacy listen kids the gauntlet has been passed who's gonna pick it up
Growing up in the late 70's early 80's was the BEST of the BEST for music. We had it all, all genres and all there being played for us. The Legend John Peel and the Old grey whistle test show were just 2 ways for upcoming groups to get their names out. Out went the old style music and along came New Romantics, punk, 2tone, Reggae and so much more. Anyone that was there KNEW what it was about. They were inspirational and laid the foundations for decades. Terry was one of the leaders, the forerunners that others looked up to for guidance. He has left us but his music will forever play on everywhere in more ways than we know by inspiring all those that listen to him. The most inspiring record I think he ever made was Ghost town...That was and will always be Legendary. R.I.P. Terry you came, you conquered and you left. A true Legend
God bless Terry. You were absolutely the distillation of the perfect gentleman, cool, funny and authentic and we will always love you. The Specials spoke so clearly of how we felt as working class kids in Thatcher's Britain. Rest in Power King! ❤
Great words Snesley❤
Rip my brother
I was lucky enough to see Terry Hall and the specials about 4 time through out the late 70s,80s then the last time I thnik it was about 2011 or 12 in Belfast. what a fantasic guy and brilliant song writer RIP Terry God bless.
👍🌻❤️
RIEP Terry. The Specials were a massive part of my youth as a teen in 79. Listening to the Ska revival of music I grew up with from Jamaican parents. Britain was going through tough times and London was rough in places with National Front and British Movement threatening us. But the music and the message of Two Tone was what we needed. Gone but never forgotten.
RIP man. A legend. I wish it was 1980 again. Christ the world was a simpler place then. A better place I think.
Sleep well
Don't know why Terry's death has made me this upset, it's really got to me. The soundtrack to so many of our youths and I was there in the early days, remembering The Specials music matching the mood of those times. And such a handsome man, when younger, quite beautiful actually. And the black and white images of the band in their heyday, wonderful. RIP Terry Hall.
❤️
As a child of the sixties growing up with my love of ska/punk i thought Terry was a man of the people and wore his personal trials in his dour personality something which i absolutely loved about him.RIP mate.
Because he was our young selves and his songs told it how it was back then
It hit me like that too ..
My good friend bought the Ghost Town single the day it was released in 1981 ,and after hearing it I was hooked on the specials ,that good friend of mine died in 2017 ,and of course hearing of Terry's death brought back that memory
Rip Terry 🙏
Rip Gary 🙏
Exactly the same, I had no idea that I loved Terry's music so much or that his death would hit me so hard
Total legend. Made the world a better place. Irreplaceable. Thanks for the music.

Another classic singer/songwriter gone but not forgotten R.I.P terry Hall.
I'm 58 was a skinhead when this band came out , what great times and great bands , happy I saw the specials live such memories for me , very sad RIP mush
Pancreatic cancer is an awful disease we lost our brother in law to it last April aged 62
Once it's diagnosed its too late it really is a horrible disease that needs more awareness.
Sending love and light at this sad time x
Have lost a few relatives to it, awful way to go, you end up looking like a POW, only about 5% survival rate, yes I hope they can find a way for better early diagnosis. The problem really is there are often signs for some time before, but they are so similar to other minor digestive issues they often get overlooked or ignored. And of course there’s always a percentage that have virtually zero symptoms beforehand
RIP Terry Hall gone 2 the spirit in the sky where the musicians go when they pass 🎶
Great musician gone 2 soon grew up with specials music in my youth ..He joins musicians like opera singer Pavarotti 🗣️& Aretha Franklin also had pancreatic cancer a terrible thing have but at peace now 😌 ..gone but will never be forgotten as the music 🎶🎵 lives on 😊
Well said Sharon 🙏
Same way Gianluca Vialli just died
RIP Terry Hall. You made me dance, feel solidarity in my anger at injustice, racism & shit politicians. Did I say you made me dance - over & over again. Still have my vinyl which I play regularly & soak in the sounds of a time when music stirred the people into wanting diversity, equality & fabulous beats. Have followed all the incarnations of your massive musical talents with love, often surprise & always respect for your musicality, originality & for what you had to say to & about society. Sad to see you go so young, tears coming now as I viewed you like a big brother xx
Terry you're gone but will NEVER be forgotten your music will live on bless you
Very sorry to hear about this man’s
Death . He was a icon for us the British public from 1977 to 1981 😢
RIP in peace old chap !
❤️
1979 not '77. When they had their first hit Gangsters.
@@thomasoflaherty3520 Moreover the Terry Hall show didn't end in '81. Fantastic musical legacy.
God bless you Terry, your music made up part of the soundtrack of my childhood which I will always remember as the best years of my life, when things were so much simpler and the world was a better place. It's a lasting testimony to you and the band of talented musicians that surrounded you that you made the awesome tunes that still sounds so good and timeless today. Thank you and RIP 🙏
🙏

❤️
No matter what music one was into, who didn’t enjoy The Specials R.I.P. Terry, the special one. 😎
Yes xx
Lovely tribute, it's over a day since I found out that Terry had passed, I can't stop playing his music, tears are still flowing, every now and again, someone's passing has had such a profound effect on the generation that first fell in love with their artistic genius, I felt the same at Rik Mayall's untimely passing 8 years ago. 😥
Same here ,iv been watching and listening to the specials for days now .
Ghost town holds a lot of good memories for me 👌🎵🙏🙏
One of the few bands of that era to stand up and challenge the divisive nature of Thatcherism.
Well written ❤️
Oh yeah, their politics was what I really liked about them.
Their music was a vehicle to carry the message.
Thanks Terry, we all love you.
A message to you Terry Hall: Thanks for all the amazing concerts throughout the years!!! The Specials are and will always be a part of my childhood and now adulthood. This place will be a Ghost Town without you ;(......
I am a Cov girl. Still in me Harrington and polo shirt. Thank you Terry 😎❤️

RIP 🙏 TERRY Great Frontman I met Terry, a few times, always had time for you salt of the earth, Great poet. You will be missed Great band the Specials
🙏
When ever I hear Terry Hall and the Specials, I’m always taken back to my High School days and the start of my youth. The older I get, the better the memories are. R.I.P Terry 🙏
Great words Ricky ❤️
Thank you 🙏
Such an inspiration to all of us youths in the late 70s early 80s. So young. Too young. RIP young man. Never forgotten ever xx
❤️
Another musical hero gone. His vocals with The Specials , FB3, etc will forever live in the soundtrack of my youth.
The noise of my youth; ska, punk, disillusionment, a mesmerising sound. Thank you Terry Hall for being exemplary in rising above your own issues via a unique sound. May you find peace❤
I saw The Specials in 1980 in a little pub while on vacation in London, it was an experience I'll never forget. I have been a huge fan ever since, nothing picks me up like Ska music. R.I.P. Terry Hall, you'll be greatly missed.
🌻yes, 2 Tone gave the Jamaican ska originators a huge audience also. Thank you Terry.
Thank you Laura.
The Specials, Madness and others doing Ska were a big part of my youth, RIP Terry you brought many happy memories...xxx

The selector, bad manners , all the others were my school time listening. Days go quickly, make haste with what you have remaining
The Specials, FB3, The Colourfield, Terry, Blair and Anouchka, Vegas or solo, Terry was one of my all timers... RIP...
Thank you for this, great tribute!! RIP Terry
A small gesture for a great man 👍
No one will ever take them days away from us the best years of my life
My god!!! Terry hall what a legend, totally gutted ur gone my friend☹️☹️☹️
The music, the look, the anger, the energy, the art, the words, the unity, the confrontation, the swagger, the clarity, the coolness, the danger, the confusion, the excitement, the message, the hope, the desperation, the catchiness, the movement. The Specials. The greatest. No other band has reflected the state of a nation or shaped a generation so profoundly. No other band has meant so much before or since. much love and respect from the remote Scottish west Highlands RIP Terry🙏🙏❤️❤️
🙏🙏❤️❤️👍
So glad you were in my life......haven't cried like this in a while......thank you for everything you did ❤️ 😢 💗 RIP
❤️🌻🌷
Really Something Special. I so appreciate their artistry, voice, creativity, sound and grateful for a legacy left to all of us lucky enough to enjoy and appreciate it. Really something Special. They were on point with that name for sure. Beautiful compositions, music, partnerships, a life led with integrity in the music that comes through in a way I hadn't ever heard before, quite like the Specials. It will always remain classic and special. It's so sad to lose Terry, but I'm taking my time over and over to re-listen and journey back through time to try and see it from their perspectives and then others (Hot 8 Brass Band playing Ghost Town, must see). What a great, haunting mesmerizing song that captures the bleakness of the times and the emotions blast right through you with music and song and we are there with you living in the Ghost Town, where many of us have been living through for years and we get it.. The authenticity of Terry Hall and the whole mix of band, sound so good, I wish I knew more.
Thanks Terry, for the music you gave us, The world will miss you song writing, why do the BEST guys have to die. R.I.P . love to your family x
As everyone is saying it's a very sad day for music it's a very sad day personally I met Terry a few times and I was proud to be of that generation listening to the messages the specials sang about the specials where exactly that special groundbreaking a huge voice of a generation Terry was The voice of a generation!!! I cried for Bowie I'm still crying for Terry .RIP and heartfelt condolences to every member past and present of the band that stays in my memories the specials
🙏
I am right there with you. I, too, cried for Bowie and, now, losing Terry hall I cried again. This is different. I was thirteen in 1979 and we were looking down a long tunnel without a light at the end. The timing of the Specials and the SKA movement could only happen when it did and have a profound effect on our youthful lives.
Only recently did I rediscover his solo/later work. So much depth in his soul and he was so humble. One of a kind and the kind you'd like to call a friend. He was our friend. A friend we deeply loved. I live in Los Angeles and have a small 8-unit apt building. I listen to Ballad of a Landlord everyday!! Rest in peace beautiful soul.
God Bless Terry, your family and the Specials. Such vivid memories of that time. 2 Tone, SKA and all the bands at the time. To me you Terry were the iconic figure of the time. I am so gutted to hear of your passing. Thank you for being part of my teenage history.
Thank you Terry for the Joy you brought to my youth , rest in peace your music will always remain !
Totally xx

❤️🙏
Gone but not forgotten there music will never die
GREAT TRIBUTE. SPECIALS, MADNESS, THE BEAT, THE SELECTOR, BAD MANNERS. To name but a few... Sorry if I've left anyone out. Sound track too my youth, going out on our scooters. I'm 60 now and still got my scooter, FANTASTIC!!! Only negative is, they tell us people are living longer and keep putting the retirement age up. Tell that to Terry and all the other poor soul's. Just keep paying your taxes so they can give it away to all the free loaders. R. I. P. Terry. You're no longer in the RAT RACE 💔😭✊
Legend is to small a word
RIP Terry, my best memories of being a teenager was your music 😢💖💯🇮🇪🍀

Trying to think of something profound to say but words escape me! Terry Hall and The Specials were the sound of my youth. Sitting in front of my record player when I should have been doing homework! Knew every word to every song but for the life of me couldn’t remember who Henry VIII wives were! RIP Terry……..Thank you for the amazing music! 😢
I was 17 in south of France, we barely understood that it was about black + white together, we loved it right away so very much, we bought the suit and we fought for the message, we skanked it, with the black sunglasses, the pork pie-hat heartfully 🙏🏼
Love Love Love Terry miss you
I once (briefly) shared a stage with Terry
It was at the Bristol Studio circa 1980
They beckoned for people to climb on stage and join in
Then the classic jump back into the crowd
Happy days
Rip Terry your music was the best 🎶 ❤😪
Levis, ben sherman slim fit , Solavair boots, Doc Martin boots, harringtons, crombi. cool suits. rupert bear trousers, Slasenger cardigan, fred perry, brogues, tassles, solatio shoes and then the music for council estate and ordinary kids.. but never ever neo nazi or racist .. greatest time and i still have that fashion and music in my wardrobe, heart and life blood..

We loved Terry in the US, too. Great shock and sadness at his sudden passing. A most versatile voice, who took chances with his art. He broke my heart, though, even while loving his music, as he seemed so damn sad. RIP, Terry. You are sorely missed and quite irreplaceable.
Well said Michelle 🌻
This hit me harder then I thought possible. R.I.P. Terry 😢
