2:42 "I have 24 sheep left on this goat"
As we all know, 1 goat consists of 100 sheep. This high density stems from the huge pressure of one tectonic plate pressing down on another...
XD
Grubby, it is such a pleasure to watch you learn such a classic game. Especially after watching both you and theViper for as long as I have. I hope you enjoy your time with AOE2!
aoe2 and wc3 are so close to my heart and I never seen something that connects the two....
see this is so awesome, thank you for this
Dude I'm really happy you guys are doing this, I'm so hyped about Grubbs trying Aoe2 I can't help but to check the channel everyday in the hopes there is a new upload and RUclips hasn't notified me (that'd be utterly unexpected right?). It's actually for both; Viper doing wc3 too. This is like a godsend of my two favourite streamers of all time getting together to conquer the world.
Keep it up guys.
Also it is increadibly instructive!
Ah yes excellent the master of aoe2 is passing down his teachings to his lovely new pupil the master of wc3 and vice versa they will be an Unstoppable Duo
You ask many good questions Grubby, looking forward to watching the 2v2
It's gonna be guuuud
This is amazing for anyone trying to learn aoe2. When a top level player makes a video explaining how to play the game, he usually explain for players that, well, don't know the basic, so he don't mention advances details. Here, on the Other hand, Viper is explaining how to play the game to Grubby, a guy that have the skills to become an aoe2 pro player in a really short time, but he is missing just some practice to learn some basic mechanics/civ stuff/etc. Long story short, Viper is explaining not how to play, but how to play like a pro, to a guy that, well, have what it takes to be a pro.
Thank you to both of you, you legends!
and the other way around! the same thing is happening with grubby explaining to viper how to play like a pro on WC3... except grubby can be kinda.. not so good to explain some times XD, but Viper gets it, that's what matter lol
I grew up on StarCraft and warcraft. Watched grubby back in the day all the time. Got into aoe2 a couple years ago and love it so this crossover is amazing
Hahaha this is very entertaining! Grubby you are learning about the insane aoe2 early game wall mechanics! Viper is the BEST at it LOL.
I know it's been mentioned in the video before this, but I agree, this series is so great!
I love Grubby's questions as well, curious to see if you can get new insights out of this that you can actually incorporate in your own play.
I've been watching Viper for years and found you through the collaborations. I love the content, even your content on WC3, which I haven't played for like 10 years. Keep up the good work!
Hi comentator, he's a great guy to follow. I became an immediate fan when I saw him play AoE4 ( I didn't know him before AoE4). Don't tell him I said so
@@GrubbyTalks Since were telling secrets: Did you know Nili called you his favorite person in the world, even before AoE4?
Seeing Grubby in the screen every time I hear "TC" I automatically go to Tauren Chieftain. Saying "I'm going 3 TC" is such a power fantasy xD.
Yay! I love to see you playing this legendary game! Keep it up!
A priceless private lesson from the greatest AoE player ever!
It's so enjoyable seeing two genuinely nice and funny top RTS players do this. I hope the series lasts a lot longer and you'll continue playing some AoE2 every now and then 😊🏯
The bromance of the DECADE. Keep the collab guys.
Oh god that is the crossover episode we all deserved!
14:06 There are no civs that have unpacking buildings? - There are no normal civs that have unpacking buildings. But there are some game modes/maps that have alternate starting conditions.
The most common start is like this with a town center and some vills. And the next most common ones are 'nomad' where you only start with vills and no TC, 'arena' type starts with walls and maybe towers, 'regicide' where you start with a castle or a powerful tower. But there is a much less played map starting mode where you start in a 'nomad' style vills scattered around. But you also start with a wagon that can unpack ONCE into your starting TC, just like AoE4 mongols. It cannot pack up and move however. I think you can only get this start currently in the Megarandom map generations.
12:48 when my dog gets excited
it's nice too see how he's grouping vils in early game !
Hey Grubby,
can´t wait to see u play 2v2, 3v3 and 4v4 !!
ITS LORD DUAT!!! X'D
"im kinda known for my quickwalls" 😭😭😭😭😭
Never followed aoe4 player except you. I like your way of thinking
you guys should definitely do this more
Nice haha! Love The viper
You seem like the next ao2 champion
the grubby/viper crossover series is great, love watching grubby learn AoE, but also seeing viper get into wc3, a game i only played a little bit myself
//vipafan
Now this is something pizza can get behind.
20:40 actually, division comes first, so its 2 + (2/2) + 2 = 5. Sorry, I had to.
Questions like "how do you know he has 2 TC?" is very incitefull. Because viper never even ooked at the first tc, it's not obvious if you're inexperienced.
Veel plezier Manuel.
Hej Grubby! are you from the netherlands or belgium, your english accent sounds like it a little. you got a channel dedicated to aoe?? so you're really going for aoe?! I find that really exciting becouse you're so good at that other game (which i don't know :D :D, i''m addicted to aoe so...) welcome to the community
how viper keep talking and slap opponent
He streams for a living, he's used to it by now.
I wonder how Jealous Jordan is of Grubby now....
Jordan's my teammate! No jealousy here. www.twitch.tv/videos/1512823554?t=01h35m26s
Most annoying is laming in standard games. If you have to lame in these games then you probably can't honestly win
I'm so glad walling with buildings is not a thing in AoE4 and WC3, it looks so ridiculous
Might look ridicoulous but is actually historically accurate as in some cases, houses of the lower population was part of a city wall true to the motto " plebs first".
yea it is ridiculous
How this is not a thing in WC3? You usually leave some gap but players are placing theirs buildings to protect eco
@@FloosWorld_AoE And in modern warfare, the urban landscape is part of the defender's fortification regardless whether that's intended or not.
@@fibu4357 yea, it's there a bit in WC3, but you can't drop half finished buildings to block them because they take so much damage, even from arrows.
Finished buildings, especially the food and research buildings are obviously used for walls. But then again, WC3 doesn't have real walls, to there is a usecase for this. Having walls and blocking movement with houses like that is just stupid
Bring back AOE4
The mechanics of AoE2 are probably OK but the graphics look so old and nasty
Nah, graphic-wise it definitely aged (no pun intended) well, compared with other games of the time the game was released (Tiberian Sun e.g.). It became even more beautiful with DE.
Who cares!! ... boring
This is his aoe channel. You're barking up the wrong tree.
@@majungasaurusaaaa I am late with this response, but there is zero point in answering to that type of comment. Those comments exist for the sole reason of (hopefully) pissing others off, so they are best left ignored (and potentially reported if they cross the line).
