the facets are incredible, some heroes have new identities thanks to facets making new playstyles, some are stupidly bad lmao; it's really like when talents were first released hopefully given some time the facet selection will be as refined as talents

Unfortunately the hoodwink passive is.. A bit stupid. Like, I'm happy they nerfed scurry as it was getting a bit too strong, tanking carries and such. But the tree thing just causes you to randomly miss bushwacks and acorn bounces with trickshot because of the evasion (this includes creep camps!). This is probably to nerf self-planting the acorn in the middle of an empty area just to get evasion, but I'd rather they find a better way to nerf this. Trickshot is good, but bugged. If you have the 25 talent to have two acorns, any of them bouncing against a tree will stop the other from bouncing anymore, as it sets all acorns currently active to only bounce once. Hoodwink's evasion functions like normal evasion and can be pierced by mkb, drow ult, etc.

about to download dota 2 for the first time and try it. out hope its chill, I tried league of legends it was way too boring, only fighting bots 90% of the game, hope dota 2 is more cool

Monster Hunter World is for sure a great game to try out. It has a similar feeling to Elden Ring of being transported into a completely different world and facing challenges you think you'll never overcome.

Happy for you DotA players out there. I for one will not touch this game with a 10ft pole until the movement feels less clunky than a truck-simulator with 300 innate ping.

Bit of an out there question, could you make a quick analysis in the how the meta for Reign of Chaos was? No tavern, no shop aside from the neutral ones, and even armor advantages being switched around sounds insane, but I don't know to what extent it affected people's plays, as well as lacking the knowledge we have about that version in 2024. I think it would make for a very interesting video. I love your content, keep it up!

yeah, Taurens are easily countered, but, orcs are dumb. They can't figure that out. So hide the tauren totem in the trees I guess. It's a good change

20:40 I just had a little thought regarding control magic vs witch doctors: maybe you could nerf it a little by letting you leech of the benefit from the effect of a healing ward for example, making it heal friend and foe alike, so that the Orc player may decide of he wants to destroy it himself when the enemy benefits more from it than he is. No idea how that would play out in pvp matches, but it sounds neat in my head at least.

I personally put Pandaren Brewmaster in tier D because it's now THREE units i have to micro. That's bad. Crypt lord gives more units too= bad, at least Streamer got that right.

Personally I won't be watching any Elden Ring streams when the DLC comes out, i'll be too busy playing it to watch streams! I would recommend Dark Souls 1 (it's no more janky and old than WC3!), or Demon's Souls if you can get a mouse and keyboard setup on a PS5. (or emulate the PS3 version on PC) Demon's Souls is very linear and short, it won't be a huge time commitment. It would also be a really cool experience for you to go from beating the newest Souls game to the very first Souls game.

Warcraft 3 is so good but the death rattle that i never forget has to be the paladin. Its even part of the end credits power of the horde song!

I'm watching every ER episode, skipping some parts sometimes, but definatelly I'm not going to watch DLC episodes until I complete it.

I'm catching this video quite late. If I could make 2 humble requests, and I concur with a handful of others, I'd love to see you tackle both Dark Souls 1 (plus the DLC) and Demon Souls. Dark Souls 1 is a very special game and *was* the rite of passage into Soulsborne before Elden Ring was released. Demon Souls, I personally prefer the dated, darker look from PS3, but the PS5 refresh isn't too bad. The gameplay dynamics in each game are slightly different than Elden Ring, with Demon's Souls pissing you off more lol, but still, even with the passage of time, I think the charm of both will win you over.

So this is my opinion on most game mechanics; if your enemy can do it too, it's probably balanced. This is why "free" units ("free" in quotations because they still have requirements to obtain) in War3 are seemingly balanced; because if your enemy can do it so can you. Every race ( debatable with night elf treants) has easily accessed summons with no resource cost.

These tier lists started of kinda like I would imagine Albert Einsteins lecture would go and then quickly progressed to wowcrendor territory. Not that I mind it ofc.

I wonder if such big patches actually end careers of older dota players, who got the old dota in their veins, and may be struggle more to adapt to big changes than newer players whose neurons are more adaptive to change, because of less strengthened neuronal connections. It may be a nice research project for scientists to find this out, by comparing statistics of the top pro players' ages before and after the patch

6 random units from a battle means you're 6 units up in a fight. The issue is it's a must have if you could replace the ult with most of the night elf's ults. You go demon hunter, then what ever 2nd with animate dead would be crazy strong. Mostly due to night elves always having mana by level 6. Also they lack good tanks that you spam so bringing back bears would be dope as hell.

Disagree that major updates don't attract new players. I've known a few players who started Dota only after a major update, esp because some of the major changes in those updates were targeted at lowering the bar to entry like the addition of couriers for each player.

I like the new systems with starter skills. I think it's better than how it it implemented in HotS. It's not a hit-or-miss like with certain ultimates, but a normal skill that you can play around in many ways.

Just adding one thing to your early comment on how they can pull off and get away with such huge changes. Yes, they dont rely only on one game. But also, they are so huge, and after thirteen years a big pool of players are so invested, that they wont just quit.

Thralls Story is mostly an adaption of the Moses Story in the Bible. One of the enslaved people put in a river, found by a noble of the Enslavers and raised in their household. Leave the enslavers to live with his people, set them free and guide the people to the promised land. You also get something like the original sin with the blood curse, but for it Grom sacrafices himselfe, so this is kinda off. But mostly it is old testament bible stuff.

I've loved your Elden Ring adventures Grubby, and I think you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't at least give Dark Souls 1 a shot. It has some level design that puts Elden Ring to shame in my opinion. There are also several moments in the later Dark Souls games that sort of rely on you playing the previous ones for them to have real impact. It's not completely necessary, but I do think they're lesser without that previous experience! Just my two cents.

I think Elden Ring is worse than most souls-likes, but it can be a good entry point for a new players. I think you will find a lot of good games if you keep explore the genre. You should try "nioh 2", or "lies of p"

I stopped playing league because of the whole chinese backdoor thing, but dota is impossible to pick up not because of the difference in playstyle or difficulty, but because the performance is utter dogshit. Constant FPS drops and stuttering with any settings and the GPU power draw never goes above 50%. The cpu power draw never goes above 70%. Compared to league it's completely unplayable.

With the invulnerability potion not working combines with big bad vodoo. The ult is ffin terrible and prolly the worst ult there is. Should max cost 100 mana.
