That's true though it's more of an item right? This is only unit production through buildings. Someone also pointed that same thing out, post-making this video haha
34:00 - one overlooked aspect of necromancers is the fact that combined with graveyards, they make for very effective anti-tank-laming defenses. As tanks are clunky, and graveyards are fairly cheap blocker buildings that just so happen to spawn corpses that can be turned into skeletons to further clog up the base.

Infernal is such a bad unit. If I had to choose between having 15 ghouls or 15 infernals in the early game? I would take 15 ghouls. I think you should make a new F tier for the infernals, Grubby. Their counter is so easy. How to counter infernals: 1. Get 2 or 3 workers. 2. Have the workers gather water in buckets. 3. Throw the buckets of water at the infernal and the infernal's flames will go out. (Infernals don't work without their fire.) Easy.
Not to mention that if you have 4 infernals surrounding you (cannot fit more than 4, they're so fat) do you get 4 times the immolation damage ? Nope. Absolute trash. Can't even set a tree on fire.

I used to play this game when it came out as a 13 year old. 21 years later and I'm still enjoying it, although just from watching you, Grubby! Loving this ranking series too. Neutral item ranking perhaps?
Hey Grubby! I think you missed a VERY crucial point about Regular Skeleton Warriors: With the Rod of Necromancy, they are super vital for creeping early game. I'm not a pro player by any means, but I've seen countless times where people would run any hero with the Rod of Necromancy in order to kill a creep and immediately get some skeletons to help speed up creeping, which with especially Undead heroes are vital for their strategy.
Personally I love that the Demonic units in Warcraft III were so threatening AND we get a taste of them as playable with the Dreadlord and Pit Lord as well as their ultimate skills, it really made the Burning Legion seem like a big bad, when the Scourge was already an effective big bad. Plus it makes sense that intergalactic demons running over the known universe would be more powerful then local peasants brought back as zombies. So naturally, the infernal is the best Scourge-Allied Unit (I wouldn't say it's undead) but seeing as it's available to the "Undead" faction (Aka the Scourge) I would agree that the Infernal is the best "Undead" unit Grubby!
Grubby I've followed you since 4k, but to see you do Tier lists...is really different (but good) content. I thoroughly enjoy it, I think mainly because it gives a very succinct breakdown as to what you feel is good or not, rather than having to watch hours/days of replays to get nuggets of insight.

i remember playing this as a little kid, making a banshee to possess an enemy worker, build an entire base of their race (human i think), i was so disappointed when i couldn't make 3 more heroes :(
this might be the most interesting video I have watched so far this year. I am main Orc, but off-Undead. I lurve Undead. And I hope the ghul gets S-tier.
Maybe I'm crazy but a cool idea for the frost wyrm would be to give it a 0 mana lvl 1 frost armor ability, might be too strong but if taurens can be tier 2 anything is possible. It would solve all the issues you brought up. 1. Survivability ✅ 2. Value from only getting 1 ✅ 3. Not impactful enough for end game ✅ 4. Can't be used outside of close range ✅ Also 5. On theme "cool" ability ✅
I remember that my strategy of beating wc3 Champaign was to go 3 meat wagons 6 necromancers and 2 statues, permanent invinite utin production (free - there is no need for a gold mine)
Changing abomination to tier 2 as taurens but it's upgrades remains at tier 3 may be a good change, so you make 2 to 3 abominations, when you reach tier 3 then research diseasing cloud asap and instead of wait to train 1 or 2 abominations and then research you will have the impact of diseasing cloud abominations very fast
Isn't Undead kind of known for basically skipping T2 and immediately going into T3? I don't think you would really "stop" for 1-2 Abos and delay your third hero and orb just because of that
the p is recoup is enunciated, unlike in the word 'coup'. I find germans often have a good command of english and even pick up the more obscure words, but often they will miss little quirks of the language such as this
I always wondered why they designed gargoyle to be infinitely better than hippogryph. A night elf spamming hipogryphs can't hit ground units AND they have to make a separate building to make the hippos. Undead can just make them from the crypt and use them to harrass workers and to creep
I think (and I might remember wrong here) that Gargs used to be T3 units in Reign of Chaos. Also Magic Damage wasn't a thing and Piercing was effective against Heavy Armor, making Piercing kind of the best damage type in the game, so Hippogryph Riders were probably kind of valuable. Ofc in the long shot it really is hilarious how bad Hippos are compared to Gargs
I played this game and i was very bad at it, my favorite one was wyrm, that explains a lot. As i remember, they cost 7 food and you need to upgrade your main building twice to even make them only to get absolutely annihilated by spiders net hahahaha
suggestion! maybe add a tier below D thats called "topic" or something where you put the icon in discussion while you talk about it instead of dragging it around in different places. love the videos, cheers :)
Interesting, my favorite undead unit is actually banshee. If matched with top micro skills, undead builds with banshee can possibly counter most late game builds. As a lot of high burst DPS builds comes from magic attacks. Banshees are support units that protects abominations, fiends and heroes. The can also instantly immobilize opponents' units. I am not surprised banshees are nerfed so many times.
You forgot to mention that Acolyte's also summon buildings and don't have to spend time building them. Which makes them even better, although we can't go higher than S tier.
Frost Wyrms can be used to completely freeze an enemies base. Not that it will ever work, but if you micro you can freeze two buildings at once with a single Wyrm. Still not the best unit but niche usefulness

i remember playing this as a little kid, making a banshee to possess an enemy worker, build an entire base of their race (human i think), i was so disappointed when i couldn't make 3 more heroes :(
Grubby is True one Happy.... Becouse his energy makes me happy. Thank you for everything you do. Keep this behaviour that makes us smile!
I played Warcraft 3 around 20 years ago. After your videos I realised I may have had great micro and skill but my knowledge was terrible
this might be the most interesting video I have watched so far this year. I am main Orc, but off-Undead. I lurve Undead. And I hope the ghul gets S-tier.
Cool, I wonder what we should do next, oh I know now rank the campaign
Maybe I'm crazy but a cool idea for the frost wyrm would be to give it a 0 mana lvl 1 frost armor ability, might be too strong but if taurens can be tier 2 anything is possible. It would solve all the issues you brought up.
1. Survivability ✅
2. Value from only getting 1 ✅
3. Not impactful enough for end game ✅
4. Can't be used outside of close range ✅
Also
Yeah the Hippo/Hipporider arc didn't really work out that well
I think (and I might remember wrong here) that Gargs used to be T3 units in Reign of Chaos.
At this point id listen a tier list on.every map ,this videos are a god send to listen at work
Peon impression outstanding, we need more
suggestion! maybe add a tier below D thats called "topic" or something where you put the icon in discussion while you talk about it instead of dragging it around in different places. love the videos, cheers :)
Not bad idea! Thnx
I love these even though i don t play do as many as you can so i have stuff to watch at night
Now we need tier lists of othere races' units, snacks to be consumed during gaming and drinks tier list for each race for a proper gaming experience.
Well explained
Of course i agree with You ❤
I disagree. Abomination should be at least A tier, just look how cute they are 😊
After about 15 tier lists, please make a tier list of your tier lists
Grubby farming that tier list content. Good on him
You forgot to mention that Acolyte's also summon buildings and don't have to spend time building them. Which makes them even better, although we can't go higher than S tier.
Inferno is truly gigachad
The amount of detail and anecdotes is insane 😝👍
Frost Wyrms can be used to completely freeze an enemies base. Not that it will ever work, but if you micro you can freeze two buildings at once with a single Wyrm. Still not the best unit but niche usefulness
Infernals can't be healed with death coil while abominations can
Chad Infernal refuses to be healed
Great tier list Grubby. I don't know if you have done this yet, but maybe a tier list of mercenary units could be another video idea?
