Such an elegant baller. He was top drawer technically. His balance, close control, vision, disguise, feints and swift drops of the shoulder that he would do when he was dribbling were great to watch. His timing and weight of pass as well were excellent and he was brilliant at creating space for teammates to run into by drawing opposition players towards him when he was in possession of the ball. He's on the record publicly as well saying that the worst thing he ever did was leaving Arsenal and going to Barcelona or something to that effect. He doesn't get talked about enough by fans when talking about this period. Most fans from other clubs probably don't even remember him. Very underrated and underappreciated.

Santi was great too, but Hleb had better Body feints you never know where he's going and he changes directions instantly. Carzola was somehow predictable in his directions but knew how to hide the ball between his feet.
That midfield of Fabregas, Hleb, Rosicky and Flamini only if they had stayed together for a few more years would have won the title if we had sure up the defense the injury to Eduardo, and the constant RVP injuries really placed a damper on Arsenal
If eduardo and rvp had there prime seasons together with adebayor with that 4 man midfield with ramsay and wilshere I agree 100% the prem would have been arsenal
@@mussumbafelix it lacked a world class defender and keeper too! to complement the world class of attacking talents that were in the squad that time, the likes of fabregas, van persie and co
Always thought that if Hleb was more selfless and had better finishing he'd be classed as one of the best ever to grace the Arsenal shirt. Incredible technique and vision.
Wenger knows.. not many players nowadays that could use both feet like hleb n santi.. would be a joy to have this type of players for the upcoming season
This man was just different with the ball at his feet. It wasn't much flashy, not a speed demon or anything like that, just elegance and full mastery of ball control.
One of the best dribbers I've ever seen on a football pitch. If he had anything resembling a consistent finish he'd be a Ballon D'Or candidate. His mentality was a bit brittle as well unfortunately.
I'm thai and also an arsenal fan. In thailand we called him "Hook Feet" like a nickname. Because a style when he dribbling is very unigue and hard to lose the ball.
Hleb: The Beauty Of The Science Of The Art Of Dribbling. Alexander Hleb is the greatest dribbler in what I've seen, both live and otherwise, of football's history. This is my opinion, I've been open to replacing him if I saw any other who's able to convince me more than Hleb, but there's been none. This is not to dismiss Hleb's few errors at few times(everybody has errors), this is to say that Hleb is the one that has been able to convince me most, out of very many alternatives who are also brilliant. Repetition? I love his skills that much and more. Wondering how anyone could appreciate another's skills that much? Here's an example. In a game against the French national team, a relatively long time ago, the commentator, in describing how Hleb went past one of his opponents 'who was right in front of Hleb', said "He (Hleb) dribbled past him (the French footballer) like he (the French footballer) was not there". Do you really appreciate (literally and/or literarily) the meaning and weight of that commentary? Those who have truly played football, whether professionally or not, should acknowledge that dribbling past an opponent 'who is right in front of you', takes something special and often unplanned (just instant like an unexpected spark) because the idea to use just hit your mind in that moment. There are times it's the only idea that comes (making it easier to do it), and at other times it is one of alternatives (you have a role to play, you have to choose, and choosing is among variously appealing alternatives, because time and events aren't within your control and are moving along (making whatever relative advantage you may have or otherwise irrelevant, so you are mentally calculating various figures - the distance between you and the closest opponent and the rate that distance is diminishing, the various angles, distance between you and goal, the yet unknown reaction of possible obstacles like the goalkeeper, etc - you must choose, and by that acknowledge that your decision is what you think agree is the best that could best help your cause of putting the ball in the net - through which various interests are connected and impacted. Interests like team owners and management, fans, opponents, indifferent spectators, bodies, the grand history of football etc. Did I lost you there? Do you understand all I wrote above? Whatever the case, you must do something or pretend to do, in that instant, something that you acknowledge is the best thing to best help various causes. Meaning, various interests had absolutely no literal influence on you, and somehow dependent on your decision. Do you understand all these? Now, imagine you are faced with all these. And imagine you are the one who must make that choice. Now imagine that you handled things so well, on the general note, that you are said to have done so, making it seem the challenge (s) wasn't(weren't) even there. Hands movements from very early scene points out what a great dribbler he was.
The best both footed player ever! What a player!!! Easy to watch cud go both ways on either side he was a little ninja
Best Both footed player? What about Santi Cazorla? I think Santi > Hleb
Santi was great too, but Hleb had better Body feints you never know where he's going and he changes directions instantly. Carzola was somehow predictable in his directions but knew how to hide the ball between his feet.
Wonderful press resistance, you can see why Barcelona came in for him, Arsene loved these types of players
Barca came for him to lure Cesc to their club.
Hleb and Cazorla, are the best dribbles in arsenal
And also Nasri
@@thierryhenry674 let's not talk about that brat
Agreed
Reyes?
Don't forget Sanchez, Pires, Diaby!
you are man of culture mate
That midfield of Fabregas, Hleb, Rosicky and Flamini only if they had stayed together for a few more years would have won the title if we had sure up the defense the injury to Eduardo, and the constant RVP injuries really placed a damper on Arsenal
If eduardo and rvp had there prime seasons together with adebayor with that 4 man midfield with ramsay and wilshere I agree 100% the prem would have been arsenal
Exactly you the know the drill! I loved all and a special likeness for Hleb and Rosicky but fabregas was my favorite
This squad was ruined with injuries
@@philipsofokansi6030 and Diaby too
@@mussumbafelix it lacked a world class defender and keeper too! to complement the world class of attacking talents that were in the squad that time, the likes of fabregas, van persie and co
This guy is better than most 21st century footballers
Always thought that if Hleb was more selfless and had better finishing he'd be classed as one of the best ever to grace the Arsenal shirt. Incredible technique and vision.
This is video EXCELLENCE
It played just like a skate video.. 🔥
Cheers, subscribed
Alexander Hleb invented this trick to send man into the bushes with your first touch 1:24 and onwards, unique and elite player, loved him!
My favorite player ever. Thanks!
I like this drible ,so smooth & extraordinary
He was amazing with both legs just like Carzola
Wenger knows.. not many players nowadays that could use both feet like hleb n santi.. would be a joy to have this type of players for the upcoming season
We had iniesta in Arsenal before iniesta became iniesta🔥🔥🔥
That ball control at 1:08 is a madness
He would have fitted really well in our team of 2022
them even play like em
definition of underrated .. one of the players started the modern football
0:10 Absolutely DONE HIM
A scruffy bloke who looked like a cross between shaggy and William Defoe ..a class act who was so entertaining ..
hleb was among the players i liked back then.. and great tune
Hleb and Arshavin will always have a special place in my heart
I am not a fan of Arsenal FC but I used to admire him. He was phenomenon to watch. Wonderful footballer.
Great song choice!
"King of the passing" would be a better name for the video:) Anyway a nice one, thanks!
He's a joy to watch.
Tht was some modern movement right there. He was ahead of his time
Extra kudos for the banging Calibre soundtrack 👌
i love the way the comp ended with joga bonito board
I remember him at Arsenal and on PES 5... proper baller, exquisite technique, not at all forgotten
What beautiful assistant does he come up with... A true legend indeed
Thanks you bro you made it Hleb
He said years later he regretted joining Barca, stupid move was purely for the money...
Hleb, Rosicky and Cazorla were my favourite arsenal midfielders.
This man was just different with the ball at his feet. It wasn't much flashy, not a speed demon or anything like that, just elegance and full mastery of ball control.
Unsung Arsenal hero🔥🔥🔥
One of the best dribbers I've ever seen on a football pitch. If he had anything resembling a consistent finish he'd be a Ballon D'Or candidate. His mentality was a bit brittle as well unfortunately.
For once there isn’t trash electro music!
Thank you:)
1:28 holy crap that’s Toni Kroos’ signature first time touch. I thought he invented it lol.
The streets should never forget this genius HLEB
Amazing player - amazing skills and ball shielding quality - nearest player was Thomas Rosciky.
I miss him. I wish him and Roscizky and Arshavin played together at Arsenal 4 10 years 😢
Calibre on the beats with Hleb on the ball! Perfect combo 🤟🏻
Hleb , Rosicky , Cazorla , Wilshire and Pires …. How good did we have it
He was soo underrated!! My favourite arsenal player after Henry left, king of dribbling!!!
Ball was glued to his feet! 🔥
Top 7 best two footed control player ever to do it he was so good at dribbling and his first touch was incredible he was Picasso on that ball.
The best song choice I’ve seen on a football highlights reel
Hleb. Arshavin. Santi. Sanchez.
Now Odegaard. 👑
He uses both of his legs that's why he is so good
Class player🏆left foot, right foot. It didn't matter 🙌🏽
Decent player. Pretty good at making key passes. Sadly his(or his agent) greed got the better of him.
I'm thai and also an arsenal fan.
In thailand we called him "Hook Feet" like a nickname.
Because a style when he dribbling is very unigue and hard to lose the ball.
One of my favorites
Dude killed his career with the move to Barca to become a bench warmer
Hleb, Ginolla & Dicanio where my favorite players in Epl.
True definition of underrated lol
like even his passing was top notch
Hleb arshavin were incredible...
The heirs of pires and ljungberg
he didnt use his hands to push other players. Pure skills
What a Fabulous player. And the first to don the slow slung socks. He regretted leaving The Arsenal
That's the weight of that commentator's commentary.

the original short socks magician
Man.. i would love Hleb in our current starting 11.
Hleb and Carzola love dribbling against opponents teams .
