This entire season was disappointing. The show lost its horror aspect. I did not feel as if anyone's life was at risk. There was no suspense. Either everyone was experiencing some major cognitive dissonance or they didn't know what the point to the games were. The selection of players were weak with little to no backstory. I didn't feel connected to any of the new players. The entire point of the games was to prey on the poor and desperate. But this season included social media influencers, some famous individuals and a random trans person trying to pay for their surgeries. The horror aspect of the show was lost. None of the games felt serious. The atmosphere was a joke during each game even though people were dying. The stakes were low, you also didnt feel any emotion after a player was eliminated unlike season 1. It felt as if the show took inspiration from everyone's rendition of squid game (Mr beast among many others online).
All totally valid points. Everyone comes into this with different expectations. I guess I was able to enjoy it a lot more because I didn't even know I wanted a second season, so this one came as a pleasant surprise.
