Love your passion for your trees. So glad I found your channel as a fellow Victorian. My Stepson was a 'boat person' from Vietnam and your accent is similar to Vi's (who is gone now, as is my wife 9 months ago). After her passing, I felt the need for something and started to return to bonsai at 68 years old. The information in RUclips videos is so helpful, compared to just trying to get it from books by people like Peter Chan etc 35-20 years ago, when I was first doing Bonsai. So much more useful information is available now, and I love your garden and presentations. I wish I still had my old trees to now develop better than I did so many years ago. Thank you Anne.
Thank you for your supporting my Chanel Collin, Sorry to hear about your loss. I hope your bonsais bring you some peace. If you need someone to talk about bonsais to or any help, please don't hesitate to reach out. You're welcome Take care, and stay well
What a wonderful story of love and dedication. Your joy of bonsai is contagious. You are inspirational. Thank you for sharing your adventure in bonsai.
Wow gosh , this is a special video I’m hearing for the first time , I love your passion and your struggles that make you …you. Your love of bonsai I’m relating to though I don’t have the many years you have had doing your favourite hobby but really your life you now can’t live without , bonsai is amazingly beautiful and teaches us things in life , loving your videos , big hugs , keep the videos coming 🙏
I feel your passion coming thru. ❤ As I downsize from full size yard with a garden shed & koi pond to jus few patios I am now doing container gardening. I bought a cute tiered bamboo shelf & started on my bonsai journey at the age of almost 75. It’s very addictive & I am pleasantly surprised at how much I am learning from online videos. Imagine my surprise when I found a beautiful Japanese bonsai nursery less than 4 miles away. Thank you! 😬
I really like your videos. I’m sure English was not your first language but your very easy to listen to! I’m like you, just can’t get enough of my trees!
Beautiful trees so many to look after and develop, I have worked with bonsai for about the same amount of time as yourself, my collection is smaller but no less loved, I am 81 now but still able thank god to look after them, when my wife of 52 years died, bonsai was my salvation it was the reason to get up early in the morning to make sure my collection is doing well. It is lovely to see a woman presenting bonsai there is not enough women involved with bonsai so thank you for sharing your trees and passion with us. This is the first presentation of your channel I have watched but it will not be the last.
Good morning to you I read your story it had move me ❤ Thank you for sharing yours story I’m personally looking forward to meet peoples like yourself one day if I’m lucky And thanks again for visiting my Chanel
I started with rescuing an 8-10yr old western white pine from the side of the road, it had been topped a couple times. Transplanted it into a homemade development pot a couple days ago and about to get a bad cold snap. Not a lot of information about this species but I look forward working with it if it survives the winter. Went to the hardware store for wire, accidentally came home with 14 more plants. So many different beautiful plants for pretty cheap that will let me practice different techniques and styles. Just some feedback on editing in case it was missed, at around the 5:30-7:30 in the video there seems to be a filter turned on to the blur the background. It is also blurring the tree you are displaying making it hard to see properly. If that's the case I recommend standing behind the plant you are displaying, turn the filter off, or use a camera that will do the effect with a lens instead of adding the effect afterwards. So far I'm loving the videos!

I agree with your comments about we needing them and they needing us. Each season is rewarding and it does come down to understanding your individual trees, knowing them very well. This is my ninth year and I have collected about fifty, some started from seed, some dug up, some purchased. Although there are a few more I would like to have, I think the ones I have are good enough for me. I have set a few free when I thought they would be happier in the ground, but still keeping them nearby. Do they speak to me? I think they do.
Hi Anne, thank you for sharing your story, what an amazing journey you’ve been on, I’m so excited to start my own journey ( I bought a bonsai at your show a few weeks ago) now every tree I see I think “Can I turn this into a Bonsai “ 😆 thanks again.

Thank you for your reply. I cannot seem to find where to send a photo of my tree. There is no camera icon in the comment section. My other junipers are growing well. It’s this High Sierra juniper which failed after 2 years. I live in Michigan where it is more humid and rainy during the summer. The original pot is small and quite shallow. After viewing a few more of your videos, i’m wondering if the water was insufficient not reaching the center roots, or running off the pot edge. One person thought fungal, but I think was the roots. I had back budding 2 weeks ago but that now fading. Decision is to remove from the pot, it’s mid summer where I live, or wait awhile. All other lower altitude junipers are well. I will keep looking for camera icon to send pictures. Does your channel allow photos? Thank you very much for advise.

Amazing collection and very nice story, Thank you. I do have a question about cedars. You have a lot of these. All are nice and contorted with lots of cascade, etc. I want to get started with cedars as well, however every time i go to nurseries - they all seem to be very tall and straight. In order to get those bends, etc - do you airlayer branches and shape them, grow from seeds, or is there just a certain variety, which just grows contorted from the start? Which variety of cedars are they? I am talking about cedars from this video, at about 9:53 - to about 11:00. All lovely trees, thanks again.

@@987654ok Alex they are blue cedar

I'm going to try to make a bonsai tree out of a ligustrum bush. I bought it today on sale from Home Depot for 10 bucks. I've never done a bonsai in my 70 years. I know it's not real bonsai material but I can't afford 50.00 nursery stock. So I will see what happens.
@@ranjanty any trees if you give it care and love it will become beautiful:)

I have a 10 year old purple maple, it is my daughter's tree. It was kept indoors over winter but come spring when I put it outside, it grew buds no leaves. The buds are getting dark because they didn't open. It was repotted during spring. Please help me. I love this tree to much to let it die.😥

Hello Ann what country is this ? UK ? south west midlands or north?
I’m in Australia 🇦🇺
Would love to grow fruit trees again but in Australia ourself don’t have big land :(
Thank you so much for visiting my Chanel
