Do you ever have trouble with the health of Blue Atlas Cedars in particular, after removing some of the rootball while repotting? I see other people experience a lot of failure while repotting because of the sensitive root systems of the Blue Atlas Cedars, but I see you repotting so many of them like normal bonsai. I'm asking because I'm planning to get one this spring from nursery stock and I'm afraid to repot it!
@@lemoncellimochiblu100 no you don’t have to worry as long it not 140 or 40 degrees as in Australia now Even that I still can repot roots cut but must keep water every days first two week What is the weather where you are now ?
@@MadamBonsai2023 I’m in western Canada, so it’s winter right now. Since right now the nurseries don’t have much stock, I won’t be getting one until spring though, maybe March, temperatures are usually around 40- 50 Fahrenheit at that time. Some people say Atlas cedars are extra sensitive, and often drop their needles and don’t recover after root pruning. I guess timing, aftercare and climate can account for differing results. Bonsai Mirai website mentions that new buds should be actively opening and elongating and then you have a 7 day window with this species. Thanks so much for taking the time to answer, and your tips about aftercare. Your garden and trees are so beautiful, especially love your styling of your Blue Atlas Cedars!😊
Very nice.
@atomartin thanks

Summer Bonsai in Australia is full of growth. Love your Blue Cedars,. When cedars have brown needles close to the trunk but end half looking good, do they back shoot or is that it, for that part of branch? I had a chance to buy one but passed it up as was not sure.
They don’t back shot much unless is a very young tree Watch thus one ruclips.net/video/fPGHcj7H2a0/видео.htmlsi=M121InPz-hVzAN0z
