Excelent!! I think the reason the original spring failed is the heat from the drumm softened it so it lost the retention power. I also think your solution is better, more elegant and a lot cheaper than the one that comes with the roaster. Thanks for this!

Yes the heat is definitely the reason it fails, after pulling the machine apart I realised it is cheaply made and very overpriced
