Hi! I'm from Italy and visited Mokpo + the surrounding isles last January with my mother. She is Korean and I got exposed to a more rural Korea that is not strictly Seoul for my first time in 30 years. I'm very fond of this trip since I was able to bond more with my mother (we don't get to meet often) and know more about her roots. Watching this video brought me back to this lovely place and I'm so grateful to you guys for that. I'm also very glad that you made me discover Namhae which I unfortunately couldn't visit, but I'm saving it for a next trip (it looks so lovely
@semprevvd3170 hi there thank you so much for sharing! Really happy to hear that you were able to bond with your mother in Mokpo and the surrounding isles. It's such a beautiful area, and I'm sure it was an amazing trip! Hope you can make it to Namhae next time too! It's so beautiful!
Wow @youtubeuser5768 thank you so much for spoiling us with all of your kind words and support! We got really lucky to see so many nice places on this trip for sure! Hope all is well and you have an amazing week! 좋은 하루 되세요!!

OMG, her reaction to walking on that glass bottom bridge was so justified. When you panned the camera down to show just how high up you guys were it gave me that weird "fear" feeling in my stomach ! Scary but fun.
@xipetotec8700 haha totally! It was the weirdest feeling just seeing the forest floor drop away into the ocean under the glass floor. Definitely a good scare, but fun at the same time!
We went thru a hurricane here in upstateS Carolina ( weird I know) that far inland at this elevation.. but yeh it happened & we were w/o electricity for 7 days .. so needless to say we were late catching last weeks episode but we are back on track .. always enjoy seeing SK countryside through proper eyes, no sugar coating it.. just the real deal. @mhn7700 so happy to hear that you will make it over to Namhae during your journey as well! Wow it's so beautiful, and we barely even touched it in this video. There are so many things to see driving around the island, I'm sure you will have an amazing time! Also I'm glad to hear that the info from the description box is helpful too! Still playing around with methods to make it so the videos don't feel 100% like an informational tutorial (as not everyone is planning on traveling to these places), but still giving people the information that they need at the same time. @Expat_Jimmy it's so beautiful over there! We only scratched the surface there this time and can't wait to return probably for a month or so. Hope all is well!
Thank you very much for taking us on your van adventure. There is no way I can do this without public transportation. I took the bus one time to Dae Jang Geum Park and it took hours. There is so much to see in South Korea. I have been there 3 times and watching your videos make me want to go again and again. Glad I subscribed. Thanks for your great videos.
@hashtag-dreamer thank you so much for watching! You're right that it would be extremely difficult to experience these places to the fullest just by using public transportation. The best option is to use taxis I think, but that gets really expensive over time. Hope you can come back here and check out some more awesome places!
Oh my god, look at those gorgeous murals, especially the ones celebrating traditional festivals and rituals. Thank you for highlighting this area, I need to travel there! With an empty stomach, mind you
@jkang7265 they are so beautiful eh! It's so nice walking around the countryside towns seeing all the murals and vibrant colours. So much personality! Also totally recommend walking everywhere while traveling here so you can just keep eating and almost never get full! 😁 It's almost sad when you feel full haha.
@danmelia62 it's such an amazing place! Can't believe we've never been there until this trip. Also I bet a lot has changed since 2013, but it's still unreal and can't wait to go next time already! Thanks a lot for watching!

@misscaroline542 thank you so much as always for all of your support! There were so many cats everywhere haha. Every time we went on a walk somewhere a new one would come up to us and they were all a lot friendlier than the cats you meet in Seoul/Busan. Hope all is well, and have an amazing week! 😊
@janemaskell613 thank you so much for watching! Please try that cheongguk-jang next time if you don't mind the flavours. Wow it was unreal, and we still talk about it all the time haha.

Wow! What beautiful scenery! You guys are doing really good with your video quality and commentary! For your viewers it’s the next best thing to being there! I think your channel is going to increase tourism to the S. Korean countryside for sure! Best!
@chrisselner6808 it was really beautiful over there, and thank you so much for the kind words! Really hoping to share some interesting places here! Korea has so much beauty that doesn't get highlighted enough for sure! Thanks for your support and all the best eh!
I absolutely love this vlog 😊 the countryside is absolutely stunning 😍 I can tell you guys are totally adapting to life on wheels, I love it 🥰 South Korea 🇰🇷 is such a beautiful country, can’t wait to visit. Sending love from NYC 🗽🇺🇸💜
@deidravargas2664 thank you so much for all of your kind words and support! The van life is a lot easier and better than both of us expected, and we are very fortunate to be able to see the beautiful places like Namhae. Still want to check out NYC someday though! All the best and have an amazing week! 😊
Excellent work on the video, Namhae is indeed a special place. We came within an inch of buying a piece of property on our last visit there, beautiful vibes, we try to stop by every year. It't enjoyable watching the both of you grow as you sort out life a day at a time. Best wishes for continued success!
@edwardperry4419 Namhae is so beautiful! I don't blame you for almost buying property there. Might be a place we consider someday as well to live! Really appreciate all of your support, and hope all is well!
@bikechingu thanks so much for all of your support and kind words Thoan! We've been really lucky to be able to see a lot of Korea like this. Hope all is going well in this amazing weather we've been getting recently! Stay safe and take care eh!
@@lostthenfound Thanks guys! Just got back from a 4 day ride at Jeju Island. It was beautiful unfortunately, I didn't ave a chance to hike Hallasan because of the weather. At least I have a reason to come back to Jeju. 😃
@bikechingu woah that's awesome! Was that your first ride around Jeju? I forget but I think you said you were planning on doing it a couple years back but I'm not sure if you did it or not. Hope you had a great ride, and definitely go back to check out 백록담 on top of Hallasan someday!
@bikechingu wow no way congrats Thoan!! 🥳🏅 That's super awesome to hear! You going to order the medal too? It's pretty cool to look at! As an idea, try doing it in the opposite direction next time. I think we miss a lot of the views behind us when we are cycling!
Beautiful island Namhae…not too many places even here in California where you can camp right next to the ocean…definitely on my bucket list to visit…before shoreline is turned into mega resorts and golf courses…look at Kauai…😓😓😓
@classickdramaclips it's outstanding eh! Super beautiful, and we got so lucky with that camping spot. Really too bad that the resorts are taking up all the shoreline too. Hope you can make it to Namhae to visit if you come to Korea! It's really worth it!
Looking forward to when you guys make it up to Gangwondo, whenever that may be. Spent a year in Jeongseon before I moved to Seoul and now I find myself missing the countryside more than I miss the city
@bobby_thompson thank you so much! Will definitely be making it over to Gangwon-do sooner than later, especially now that the leaves are changing colours. Totally know what you mean about missing the countryside too! Hope you can make it there on the weekends or something to visit!
@AncloteLeviathan thank you so much! Really fortunate to be able to explore all of these beautiful places for sure! Hope you can visit Namhae someday as well, as it's really worth it! All the best!
Growing up with a Korean grandma is the greatest gift I could have had, not only when it comes to food but definitely including the food, haha. Miss you, halmoni! And yeah, it will always, always be my favorite cuisine
@jkang7265 unfortunately food is not my memory of grandma. Dysfunctional family. But through church and neighbors I know what it tastes like to have a grandma's hands in the food.
@DanLee8884 Korean food is special for sure! Very unique flavours that aren't easily found in other cuisines, and I'll admit it took me a bit to warm up to it, but now I'm a huge fan! Homemade Korean food is the best too!
@BasicStealthcamping thanks so much! We just did the one trail for a promotional video so far, and now we are working to get it all finished and go on more adventures! All the best and thanks for all of your support!
Hi Matt, sorry I missed you this trip which was 4 days in Tokyo and 10 days in Korea. I was hoping to chitchat, talk Nucks, and grab a bite (maybe next time :). I also traveled a bit away from Seoul: Suwan Icheon and Samcheok. AWSOME weather ! Nice pics of Mokpo, man! My wife is from that region. I think we will visit Korea next Spring and have a few days in the Mokpo region. Good job and take care. Go Nucks Go!!
@good2goskee hello there! That's so great to hear that you guys had a good time in Tokyo and Korea! Also the timing was definitely perfect, as we had the hottest summer ever this year so it's good you could avoid the intense heat! Definitely recommend checking out Mokpo as well! There is a lot of good food there, and the southern coast is beautiful! Go Canucks go! Hoping we can pull out a decent Florida road trip!
@@SavanaT this is the new chapter…. Look at the cool new island we got to see because they are driving around! I felt like it was a place I wanted to visit!!! ..
@SavanaT ahaha we don't do too well with dates! I don't think we will live in a van for our whole life though. Would be nice to find a place somewhere in the countryside to have as a home base, and then keep using the van to explore!
@Miguel_Noether hahaha still waiting for the cat! Yujin wishes! Luckily there are so many in the countryside to meet and play around with! 😁 Also good question! I would say we spend a lot more time together than the average couple, which can have its challenges from time to time as no two people are similar enough to spend every moment together in my opinion! 🤣 We make sure to be very honest with each other whenever we just need some alone time to go to a cafe or something and clear our heads. Also we try to keep our personal lives out of the videos as much as possible. For example, we will go to a new location, film our first reactions and get a few shots of it (if it's worth it), and then actually "experience" the place for a couple of hours without filming at all, then if it's really amazing we will "review" it on camera, or just talk about it in a voiceover later for the video.
Everything gets spicier and more flavorful outside of Seoul, but I'm gonna have to pass on the 홍어 because it makes my eyes water. Another great vid, looking forward to the trekking content as I'm trekking/climbing a handful of Korea's mountains this winter.
@marcellostraps totally agree with you there! 홍어 is intense too haha. I still don't understand how some people enjoy it. Really appreciate the kind words, and maybe we'll see you out there on the mountains this winter too!
I visited Namhae several years ago to attend its Oktoberfest. There's a pretty cool German village on the island and I hope you two can make some time to visit it!
@DJkmr2006 oh that's awesome Kevan! The Oktoberfest was just starting up but we didn't get a chance to go there because we have been busy doing some work for a trekking project (in Seoul at the moment). Will definitely check it out next time! Hope all is well man!
@AMCVan thanks so much for watching! You won't be able to use a lot of the rental companies that Koreans can use, but there are some private companies that rent out to tourists like here on Klook www.klook.com/activity/101510-camping-car-package/ and I found a guide here that might be useful: m.blog.naver.com/minikhan/222710292970
@SavanaT luckily Korea has insane 5G coverage all over the country (including the middle of the mountains). I have an unlimited 5G plan here that's 61,000 KRW ($45 USD) a month, and we use it like our internet router in the van too. Thanks for all the support by the way!
Hi Guys, This is my first video of yours I've watched and I really enjoyed it. I spent a fair bit of time visiting Mokpo about 20 years ago, but rarely get there now. This brought back some good memories. I'm currently living in Yeosu. Any chance you're headed over this way?
@goulash75 thank you so much! I've always enjoyed Mokpo every time I've been there. We ended up in Yeosu for a night on October 5th and spent the night in the parking lot near 이순신광장 near the ferry terminal. It was a very hopping area for sure, and couldn't believe how many people were lined up at the restaurants and dessert stalls! We weren't able to try anything because it was so busy, but it was a nice area!
@@lostthenfound yeah, the waterfront area is very popular and quite beautiful. I personally prefer the less crowded areas, so I live on Dolsan-do and spend a lot of time going to the mountains, beaches and islands. Well worth another trip down here if you're in the area. ^^
@cosmos663 I think if you spend a couple of weeks learning how to read Hangeul/Written Korean and some phrases you could get enough to make it work! Just being able to greet, say thank you, order food, ask how much something is, and then ask for directions (while holding up your phone with Naver Maps) should be enough. It should take about 2 weeks to get comfortable with these things if you study for 30 minutes a day. Go for it! 😁💪
@barcher haha it's such a tough one eh! This one was the only one I've tried that I truly enjoyed it. I don't know what that restaurant did to make it so good!
Wondering what you guys are going to do in the winter when it gets cold, do you guys have a generator of sorts for heat while asleep? It gets pretty cold in Korea doesn't it?
@Protonoto1 Korea gets really cold indeed! We have a diesel heater in the van as well, but not sure how well it'll work when it's like -15 outside. We also have some nice sleeping bags that work down to -18 C and are comfortable down to -4 C, so we will have to take those with us too I think!
@@lostthenfound that’s good. Do you guys have an air purifier? I used an oil heater before in China and every time I used that heater it would send my air purifier whirring like crazy!

@misscaroline542 thank you so much as always for all of your support! There were so many cats everywhere haha. Every time we went on a walk somewhere a new one would come up to us and they were all a lot friendlier than the cats you meet in Seoul/Busan. Hope all is well, and have an amazing week! 😊
Thank you for letting us join you on your adventures.
Really enjoy them.
Must try the fermented soya bean stew next time in Korea.
@janemaskell613 thank you so much for watching! Please try that cheongguk-jang next time if you don't mind the flavours. Wow it was unreal, and we still talk about it all the time haha.
Really enjoying your videos and look forward always to the next one posted. Thank you!
@reddragon7356 thanks so much for watching and for your support! Much appreciated!
Hope to be able to do this with my wife and two kids! You guys are living the life! Keep it up!
Thank you so much! Hope you can do this with your family someday!
Another amazing video on your travel to Korea esp Namhae.... so beautifull..... Enjoy your time together on your amazing trip. Can't wait for your next video... Stay safe and Healthy........
@dan112911 thank you so much! Namhae is really beautiful indeed. Can't believe both of us hadn't been there until this trip. All the best eh! Stay healthy and happy!
You guys make a nice couple. Like how you can translate for us. Love your new camper van, and how you are making it your own. Ty for your videos
@fred-e7d thanks so much for watching and glad to hear that the multiple languages isn't too confusing! We are very fortunate to be able to live this kind of lifestyle, and have to work hard to keep trying to improve and not take it for granted. All the best!
That food looks pretty good.
@Protonoto1 we got really lucky with the food for sure! It was amazing! Thanks again for your support!
Truly admire you guys' spirit of adventure.
@donghwajohnkim thank you so much for your words of encouragement and support! Really appreciate it!
Yay!!!!
@marcomorales920 yahoo!
Another great video! Stay healthy and happy too 😊
@8IGHT-X thank you so much for the kind words! Really appreciate it, and hope all is well!
Thank you. This was nice!
@carriegray4093 thank you so much for watching! Really appreciate it!
Great video guys! Looks like your enjoying your van life so much! Stay safe!
@@lostthenfound It was my first time on Jeju. Finally finished all the bike path in Korea. Grand slam! I'm going to do it again :p Thanks!
Once again thank u for showing the Korea many doesn’t know existed
@jeffreylim5977 thanks so much for watching! Korea has so many beautiful places that need to be showcased more for sure!
Awesome! So excited for you guys when you said how free you feel!🚐💕 Beautiful video, I hope I can visit Namhae too someday!✌️☀️
@AncloteLeviathan thank you so much! Really fortunate to be able to explore all of these beautiful places for sure! Hope you can visit Namhae someday as well, as it's really worth it! All the best!
I am s happy to be born Korean. No food can possibly overtake Korean food as my favorite.
@@DanLee8884 I'm glad you were able to have that experience in the community ❤️
@DanLee8884 Korean food is special for sure! Very unique flavours that aren't easily found in other cuisines, and I'll admit it took me a bit to warm up to it, but now I'm a huge fan! Homemade Korean food is the best too!
@jkang7265 thanks for sharing! I bet your grandma made some amazing dishes, and it's a really sweet way to remember her. All the best!
nice, looking forward to the trekking videos!
@BasicStealthcamping thanks so much! We just did the one trail for a promotional video so far, and now we are working to get it all finished and go on more adventures! All the best and thanks for all of your support!
❤
@alejandramorales2485 😊🙏
Hi Matt, sorry I missed you this trip which was 4 days in Tokyo and 10 days in Korea. I was hoping to chitchat, talk Nucks, and grab a bite (maybe next time :). I also traveled a bit away from Seoul:
Suwan
Icheon
and Samcheok.
You guys should set an "end date" for Van Life, then everyday will be sweeter and it also forces you to move on to a NEW chapter... ❤
Amazing! Loving the channel and I’m falling in love with Korea.
@doubleunderfire7964 thank you so much! Really appreciate it, and Korea is a beautiful country!
Great vid.
@LB20278 thank you very much!
Next video they're definitely going to show us their new cat 😺. Maybe a though question but do you spend time on your own (other than when you work)?
@Miguel_Noether hahaha still waiting for the cat! Yujin wishes! Luckily there are so many in the countryside to meet and play around with! 😁
Also good question!
❤😊
@herahera7340 😊🙏
Thank you for showing us the beautiful places to visit in Korea. If we fly from the UK, would it be easy to hire a van?
@AMCVan thanks so much for watching! You won't be able to use a lot of the rental companies that Koreans can use, but there are some private companies that rent out to tourists like here on Klook www.klook.com/activity/101510-camping-car-package/ and I found a guide here that might be useful: m.blog.naver.com/minikhan/222710292970
Sugohaseyo!
@michaeldangelo2122 hwaiting!!
I wonder how your internet service is around the countryside as you two are trekking... ❤
@SavanaT luckily Korea has insane 5G coverage all over the country (including the middle of the mountains). I have an unlimited 5G plan here that's 61,000 KRW ($45 USD) a month, and we use it like our internet router in the van too. Thanks for all the support by the way!
감사합니다
@officer0804님 시청해 주셔서 감사합니다!
First
Hi Guys,
This is my first video of yours I've watched and I really enjoyed it.
@goulash75 will definitely be back to check out more of it!
Would love to do this but language barriers will make it so hard
@cosmos663 I think if you spend a couple of weeks learning how to read Hangeul/Written Korean and some phrases you could get enough to make it work! Just being able to greet, say thank you, order food, ask how much something is, and then ask for directions (while holding up your phone with Naver Maps) should be enough. It should take about 2 weeks to get comfortable with these things if you study for 30 minutes a day. Go for it! 😁💪
💟👀👌
@elizabethlaw3724 😊🙏
I've tried to eat cheonggukjang---can't do it.
@Protonoto1 we don't have an air purifier, but we have smoke/gas detectors to make sure we aren't breathing in fumes.
