I have a 2018 M40i and a 2021 X3MC. Way different car for sure. The interior of the MC is much better imo. The ride quality with no load in the car is rougher but worth it. After 6k miles I have adjusted to it and frankly it is so much better to drive I don’t care about a little more rough. You can change the springs for a softer more child like ride. :)

Keep the videos coming. Great to hear from actual owners. Trying to decide between the M40i and the M. I’ll be using it as a daily. My only concern about going with the M is finding the ride too stiff.
@@HRCfan17 Same here... Can't order before I get to try both. I only tried m40i, which is super comfy as expected and I'm afraid M is stiff as any other M car, which is no good... But no M's to test around here at the moment :/
Personally speaking with a 2021 M40i... I've had mine since March and have loved every second of it. Got used to the powertrain and broke the car in really well, took it on long drives (20+ hours), pushed the car super hard, and its extremely confident to drive. A month ago I test drove a 2020 X3M comp and honestly wasn't that much more interested in it above an M40i. The extra bolstering on the seats were great, and you could tell the vehicle had a little bit more "specialness" to it, but for an extra 20 grand? Absolutely not. I was so underwhelmed by the S58 in comparison to the B58 that I took the dude i test drove with in my car for the same hot lap, and he thought the M40i was modded. Mine is still 100% stock. To have the M40i comfort + B58 platform it's worth every penny and really is, IMO, the better buy. Hell a stage 2 map and tune puts this thing at around 470HP and 443 lb/tq. There's a video up of someone running 0-60 in 3.13 seconds in a 2020. Unless you wanna hunt down an AMG GTR and push 700+hp from the S58 platform, the M40i is one of the best factory freaks for the money you can get from BMW
I got the X3M non comp and i’m loving it before I bought it I tried the m40i and the difference for me was big so i went with the M ,yes it is stiff but the performance you get it’s just awesome and I don’t even pay attention to the stiff ride of course you notice it when you drive in the city let’s say im from Chicago but trust me it’s worth it . Good luck to the future owners
How's it like having the M2 Comp and the X3 M Comp? Is it weird having both? So funny, I have the M2 Comp as well and really thinking about trading in my Model 3 Performance for this since we have a little one on the way.
Nice, congrats!! I actually have some leftover Eddie Bauer seat protectors that I've had for a few years and used in several different vehicles. I tried looking up a link to share but it looks like they're discontinued now they're so old
Great video! I'm debating whether I should put in an order for one or not. Have you driven a pre-LCI X3M? If so, how does the LCI compare in terms of stiffness? I have a 2020 M40i and at the time was offered a X3M for not much more, although tempting, I declined due to what I heard about the ride being stiffer than a M3. But I have heard that the LCI is a bit softer. Does the comp have a stiffer suspension setup than the non-comp version? I would be ordering the non-comp. I know that suspension stiffness that people talk about is kind of relative, depending on what you've driven in the past. I've had a Cooper S, Macan S, 718 Cayman S, SQ5, GLC43 and M40i. I actually prefer stiffer but people make the X3M stiffness sound like a nightmare. I haven't driven one so just trying to get an idea of whether it's unreasonably stiff like some people make it out to be.
Thanks! I did have a pre-LCI X3M as a loaner car once and I can say the LCI is improved a lot over that in terms of stiffness. And I'm not sure about comp vs non-comp if there's a difference or not. Can't imagine if there is it would be dramatic. But it's really as you say all a matter of personal preference. If you're looking for a soft ride definitely don't go with the X3M. It's improved, but it's not going to fool anyone into thinking it rides like a luxury car. It's built for just one thing and this is performance.
@@MatthewBrownVlog Thanks! I agree, I don't think the stiffness is as bad as people make it out to be. I doubt it's stiffer than my Cayman or Mini. LOL. I've also had a X5, 5-series and Cayenne as loaners for a few days. I hate how floaty they feel.
@@anw9485 Agreed, I think that mainly comes from people who are not used to performance cars but I mean if you're used to something like a Cayman it's going to feel right to you I would imagine. I’m pretty tall too at 6’3”. Do you feel the bottom seat bolstering is comfortable? In some sport cars I feel like my legs are confined and the side bolstering at the bottom can be aggressive and cause pressure on the side of my legs.

How bad is it? I need to know before I purchase one. Is it stiff or harsh like noisy inside too over every bump? And are the seats comfortable on your back?
I haven't, but from what I've gathered from videos is biggest difference between the 2 is harshness of the suspension. If you're planning to take this out to the track definitely 100% you'd want the X3 M.
