They are all used as a means to demonstrate and show off his skill and his 'light-side'. He is throwing a bag full of inflatable joke hammers at the listener -- they could quite easily be real hammers.

If it makes you feel better, talent is one thing and Ren has been given it by the tons. However, talent will only take you that far. It has to be channeled, refined and canalized. That´s called skill and one can aquire it, even though there is an investment to be made in exchange. It´ll cost you the most precious resource you have...time. But be careful, you might spend hundreds or thousands of hours on getting better, only to find out, you might not have that much talent after all. Tricky, isn´t it?
