When we ordered the recorder, we added 2 Terabyte memory which they installed. We see that we have about two weeks of data by leaving four cameras on all the time. Therefore we think you'll be fine by adding just 1 Terabyte memory at time of order.

Hey Liz and Paul! Great content, again!!! Haha. I’m so glad this worked out well for you guys. You’ll love the cameras. We installed them on our big NorthPoint and our Eagle. Best money you can spend. Thank you for the shout out! Haha
Something for all of your subscribers and viewers. Cameras do NOT provide a false sense of security. Cameras see what you don’t see. And they provide a record of what occurred and when it occurred. Cameras provide situational awareness 24x7. We leave our monitor on in the living room when we are at the RV. We record on motion within our perimeter, which we customize at each campsite. We always record the main road to the camper continuous and the campside, service side or whichever on motion. A thief will almost always pass your RV a few times. They are trying to determine if anyone is inside. They will try to pattern the occupants. Recording the main entrance or pass-by road will always catch them. And it’s too late once they get so close and realize there are cameras on the coach - they are already recorded. Description of the vehicle, tag, what they’re wearing, etc. Most of the time, once the cameras are spotted, they pass on by and keep going. We recognize vehicles making multiple passes by the RV quite often. Most are quite innocent, but if something happens you’ll be able to connect these dots. The goal is to have multiple views and enough intel to identify and ultimately catch the misbehaving person. Let them keep passing those cameras at multiple angles and feeding intel to the recorder!!! Haha
Like you guys, we have observed people noticing our cameras and they gradually ease on off. Haha. We had one guy in SC try to pull his awning almost to the ground trying to keep our service side camera from seeing him. Honestly, we didn’t care to watch him but he was acting sketchy.
RVers are great folks. But here as of late, there’s a small group of folks that we have observed in a few Camp Grounds that shouldn’t be there. I’m not sure what life circumstances brought them there but it was probably out of need. Most of us RV for pleasure and this is what we love. In essence, we are in the same campground for different reasons. This group sees what you have and they feel they can take it. Personally, I loathe and detest a thief. This is the reason some CGs will not allow a stay over so many days; keeps squatters out. We avoid CGs when we drive through and observe porch’s built onto the campers!!! They’ve been there for a while! All are not bad folks but you don’t know them. But you do know they are not RVers passing through.
Also, people lie. They will say anything to make their case. These cameras are a silent witness to what really happened. Someone claims they got hurt on something you left at your campsite??? The NVR knows... haha
We have operated these cameras for a few years now and will never RV without them.
So, so happy for you guys and your new installation. You’ll find that the cameras are far better entertainment than prime time television. Hahahaha

I have to start by saying that a lot of stuff you said Is correct but then at the same time it's not. For example here at our rv park we have what you are calling porch whatever yes they are our permanent residence that make our money and they are on the back row mainly. There's about 10 or so. Then we have our weekly witch are like hwy crews or R.R. guys that have to travel. Then we have people like you all that are considered nightly. My point is that not all permanent campers (rv) are bad well not at ours at least. We have Camaras all over the place and people know not to come mess around our rv side's.we can tell right away when someone comes in that doesn't belong here and we ask them how can we help you and who are you looking for 24/7 once our Camaras bells go off we are out looking around cause we have quite time and visitors time after that then we are on the alert. We are full time rv'ers our self's and we are right where we see everything also ever window on our rv has a Camara. Like I said earlier we have them all over the property and we also provide armed security guard not that we are in a bad place but it does make people think twice. Once in a while we do get that bad apple for the month but we remove them by just saying (by the way rent is going up 150.00 dollars cause of electricity and ac running on all the time) at that point they think it's to much so they move with no problem). There's many ways to this rv games one just has to be smart about it. Any time you all want to visit our park here in New Mexico send me a massage and come by and stay a night or two. I know long massage but I had to try to make a point myself. Safe travels to all out there.

@@peterpro2a Hey PeterPro 2A. I am also all about pro 2A! Thank you! If we are ever down that way, we will certainly drop in. Yeah, most RVers are awesome folks. The people we meet on the trail is what makes it fun. I kept an RV in Maryland for two years so I was one of those long-termers also! Haha. It was during that time that I began to associate certain people with petty thefts. We never lost anything but neighbors did. Cameras are a great deterrent for certain. But, yes, you’re correct - not all who are long-termers are bad folks. And it has a lot to do with the area. I could go on but I don’t want to derail Liz and Paul’s channel for off the subject things. Appreciate your reply and I’m sure Liz and Paul do also. Stay safe, my friend, and keep your powder dry!

I work in the security industry and install cameras on almost a daily basis.
You two have learned quite a bit in a short amount of time. Your video is spot on.
My only suggestion would be to look into if your recorder is capable of recording to the cloud. It's just another level of security. If you didn't happen to be home someone could easily get inside and remove the recorder.
Thanks Scott, we will check into the cloud recording. I think it can bc we can see from our phones and even record while viewing. We'll check to be sure! And we can set an alert on our phone if someone enters the perimeter. Thank you!
Unfortunately cameras don’t do anything, it’s no longer a deterrent these days as it does nothing to the thief. Invest in bolt cutter proof chains and locks and make sure you lock it up, even if you go inside for a bathroom break. Very inconvenient but it don’t take long for things to walk off these days.
agreed! invest on a locking device with warranties----if your e-bike or something similar is stolen, you can be sure that it will be replaced. PERIOD. invest on on good chain & locks is the way to go.
Yes just checked out your suggestion and will probably invest in that. Unless the camera security alarms go right to the police with some loud alarm what is the point? Thief's are not afraid of cameras.

I have cameras all around my home but the best thing is actually when you can record a license plate. I understand the thief that stole your first Luna bike just rode off with it but many times thieves will scout an area first while in a vehicle. I've been looking into getting trail cams that can be mounted remotely on the road leading in and out of camp areas to get angles that you just can't always get from your RV mounted cams.

Unbelievable, the dishonesty & stealing that is going in these days...
I remember in the summer when (I was young) we use to leave the front door open at our house to have the cool night air come in...air conditioner wasn't invented...
We didn't worry about entering our house and doing harm...If someone did come to our house it generally meant they had car trouble & needed help.
Us, too! It sure is a different world now. Paul and I have had to learn the hard way to be less trusting.

I have just recently installed cameras on our house & put up signs that you're under 24/7 surveillance, having a convicted thief for a neighbor, it works absolutely fabulous. I have a great recommendation for your e-bikes, I have seen them on Facebook ads but don't know who makes them, but you need them installed on your e-bikes, GPS Trackers. Great video as always, if you get the GPS trackers, remember who recommended them Adam from the A-Team!!!!

A security system is a good idea. The last bike I had stolen at an RV park, the park security system had the thief on video. A copy was given to the sheriffs deputy and that was the last I heard of it. I really don’t think anyone ever followed up on it. There are GPS tracking devices that can be installed and hidden on the bike. I also previously suggested the New York chain by Kryptonite. It can’t be cut by ordinary means. There are also bike alarms that make a loud noise when someone messes with the bike. Security cameras are good if you’re in an area where law enforcement will actively try to recover the bike. The thieves often wear a hoodie and cover their face in which case law enforcement is likely to say sorry, we can’t help you because we can’t identify the thief.
Not to mention if they disconnect your power first u done, thieves don't like light and noise. I never heard anybody mention plugging the recorder DVR and the router on a battery backup, to avoid the power disconnect. Needless to say, if they don't do that badly
, they eventually will get it, I always try to make it harder for them.

Sorry to hear of your theft. Your advice is good not only for full-timers, but for those of us who still use home as a base. We have electronics and e-bikes in/on our 5th wheel and would face the same problem. Cameras are a very good deterrent for theft and a good backup to locks, security cables, etc. Thanks for sharing what happened so the rest of us can be a bit safer!
I cant wait to see security cameras upgraded to the point it sends out a warning beep then a voice booms: STAND BACK !! You are in the PUNISHMENT PERIMETER!! five, four, three, two, one! BEEEEP!! then an electrical bolt shoots out from the camera like a lazer and jolts the intruder...!!

Remember to always take off your batteries and bring them inside, this will prolong the life of your batteries and will reduce the chances your bikes are stolen. Also, avoid overcharging the batteries to 100% charge, this stresses the batteries and reduces the life of them. You'll also want to avoid letting the batteries go below the 15 to 20% charging level this also buts negative stress on the batteries. As a rule of thumb don't charge the batteries past the 85% level and don't let them discharge to less than 15 to 20%. I've done a great deal of research on this matter and have spoken with several battery manufacturers about how to increase the life of your batteries. Lastly, if your not going to be using your bikes for extended periods of time than keep them charged at only 60%. Remember, extreme heat and cold weather have negative effects on electric batteries. I've had electric bikes for 8 years so I've learned a lot about the subject.. Good luck
Yes, those are great tips about the batteries, Paul and I were just looking at Juiced's battery guidelines on their website last week: don't charge them if 80% or more left and don't let them run down below 20%, if at all possible. Thanks for the tips!
@@LizAmazing Your welcome. It's a horrible feeling when your personal space is so unnecessarily invaded. On another note, the juiced bikes are awesome with great prices, they are definitely beasts. I'm very familiar with both companies Luna Cycle & Juiced, I spoke with reps from both companies last year, I was more impressed with Juiced and their customer service. I ended up going with the M-1 Spitzing a Germany bike, the downside being the high price. Just remember to keep the batteries in your RV as often as possible, and if you have quick release seats take those off too. Also, keep your bikes covered so potential thieves don't know there's cool electric bikes under there. Finally, thieves will even try to steal the bikes when your stopped at a red lights, they are quick and prepared.

@@TheLakingc No. Electric bikes have about 60 to 80 individual battery cells that are built-in to the battery compartment, and they have an electronic battery management system built in also. So the batteries are completely different even though they're lithium in each device.

We have perimeter motion sensors in addition to our cameras. When activated they illuminate the exterior lighting and trigger our random recording of a dog barking.
You should see the look on peoples faces when they enter the secure area and the dog goes crazy.

It does worry me drilling into our trailer , so we would have to call in the professionals for installation, but I do think the cameras serve as a deterrent because we have cameras on our home and people generally avoid stealing from a house that has a security system in place. Stay safe out there!

Congrats Liz and Paul on your camera install. As a retired electrician/tech person who made many custom
Cat-5 and Cat-6 cables I noticed Paul used the EZ RJ45 crimp and connector system. You should highlight that because it has connectors that allow the wires to go all the way thru the connector and allows you to check the order of the wires before you crimp them and when you crimp the connector it cuts off the excess wires flush with the connector. This is much different than the "old" way, that is still being sold, that the wires had to be an exact length to fit into the connector. Have friends who are full time RVers and have talked to them about your videos. P.S. working over 20 years for a service (gas) station maintenance company and repairing may "drive offs" and other dispenser (aka pump) damage, your mishap was one of the milder ones I have seen as far as damage to the "pump". Best to you and keep the great videos coming.

Liz, Paul. Another thing you can add to your aresnal is the new small portable GPS/tracking devices.. This is what a lot of contractors are doing the run off a little 9volt battery and can be placed in not so known places. And they are very expensive now days.

For anyone interested in the RJ45 crimps that he showed with the wires going through, you need to use what is called EZ-rj45 or, generically, pass-thru/pass through rj-45. You need to have a crimp tool for those because they cut off the excess cable that is passed through them.
Those stick on straps always fail, always. Great video, you did it right by going belly pan.

I've always had large dogs and if i go camping or take off with my travel trailer, they go along. When i leave the campsite the get chained up on a sliding cable that allows them to reach all sides. Sometimes rangers will complain but as long we're far enough away from heavily populated camp areas and facilities it's never been a problem. I've left quads, generators, tool boxes, smokers and pretty much whatever i don't want taking up space inside once we're setup and not once have we lost anything.

Awww I was so upset that your bikes were stolen, I can see your being pretty hard on yourself, and frustrated that it happened a 2nd time. The cameras you have installed will help, but just an FYI... I have cameras and some lady came into my camp at 2am and stole my solar lanterns. I have her on camera, but I don't know who she was, so cameras help but they don't always catch them. I now have a motion detector too, so if there is anyone walking around my RV it goes off, funny thing tho, there's a Blue Jay that insists on getting his breakfast in front of the motion detector every morning! LOL Hang in there, I have been full time for a year and this was the only theft so far, but I have a toy hauler and can lock most of my toys in my "garage"

Hi Jan, thanks so much for the hugs- we needed them! Yes, cameras are not the only solution and nothing is 100% theft proof. We will definitely be keeping our bikes locked and covered from now on. Sorry about your solar lanterns. See you in the next video!
Make sure these are hardwired to an inverter. Elsewise, throwing your breaker cripples the whole system. I have a ring system, each component powered by USB off of 12 v, and their base and router powered directly by 12 v. No inverter. No interuotions. And no need for hdd. All stored remotely.

Great info. Thank you. I'm sorry you lost your bikes. I would not run wires on the outside so no one will cut them. I'm sure they are secure but if someone sees the wire outside they will be tempted to cut it to stop the camera from recording.

The tie wrap stickers do not work well unless you screw them in. Running the cable inside the belly also protects the cable. Good job
My system is all wired via BNC connectors for video & audio, RCA connections for power. I have a 500 GB hard disk DVR (not solid state drive yet). I have eight cameras going day & night with motion detection. The motion sensitivity is adjustable. I have just over a month of recordings on my DVR before it is written over. The cameras range from 380 TV lines to over 1,200 TV lines of resolution. That is because it took me a while to acquire all eight of the cameras. Three of the eight cameras are 16:9 aspect ratio. Four of the eight cameras have stepless white balance control so it doesn't trigger the motion detection with the changes in light conditions.

IT's funny that you mentioned the stress of terminating your cat 5 cables. As a 30+ year tech, I don't think I've ever gotten them right the first time with 'regular" RG45 connectors.
Someone turned me on to pass through connectors that actually have holes in the end so you can actually push the cable through and make double sure your color coding is correct. Just crimp and then cut off the ends. This has lowered my blood pressure by 100 points when building your own cables. They cost a bit more, but are less than my blood pressure meds.

Great video with excellent content. It’s sad that camping has deteriorated to the point of needing security cameras attached to the rig to increase your peace of mind. It might be a good thing you put the CAT5 into the belly vs. taping it underneath/outside. Out of sight, out of mind and unlikely to get cut by a projectile from the roadway or damaged by a source with a more nefarious intent. 😳 looking forward to the next vlog. Stay safe out there.

I read through the comments on your previous video; man i love youtube; we can all learn SO much from it; its like an extended family!! some very helpful suggestions I thought was: remove the battery packs n seats n store them inside; put an electric hidden wire on the bikes like an electric cattle fence (although if YOU forget its there n on, you MIGHT get extra curly hair a time or two eh!!) or how about storing them on the roof laying down? I dont know what effect cameras have on you, but I tend to look closely at them, then start putting on my lipstick whilst gazing at them...oh my...

@@LizAmazing well truth b told im kinda missing those funny exit skits eh... and today i put out (on my front lawn near front fence) two large black urns with floral foam squares inside 80% then 10% dry potting soil 10% light tan sand, then put tall elegant florals with a midfront base of white flowers then a lower base of ivy leaves, all fake florals (SOO much cheaper n easier than real stuff) then my hubby n I CHAINED the urns with a 10 ft linking HD chain then used U shaped HD fence staples pounded thru the chain links to attach them to a 4x4 post of our front fence. im going to spray paint the chain black so its not readily visible... I live in a fine hood BUT years ago i put two 4 ft tall elegant sitting lion statues on either side of my double garage doors when i lived in an upper class hood and they were stolen within a week! so i dont trust anyone any more!

While this is hard to fathom, and a dent in our faith in rv camper mankind, I think what i would have done had i thought that, was, immediately upon realizing the theft, I would have QUICKLY knocked loudly on every camper door in that campground and informed everyone of the theft. And WATCH how wide they open their camper door....an innocent person would open their door normally, wide, and expressed concern and sympathy. The thief would open their door a crack and acted aloof...then at night you could throw firecrackers into their bathroom roof fan opening and when they come running out; you could go running in yelling I WILL SAVE YOU FROM THE FIRE etc...to look for your bikes...if u dont find them say oh sorry i heard the noise n came to help you; if you FIND the bikes, take a pic of their license plate and them....
What about alarm system also? Had one installed in mine. The 3rd night went off as was parked in a parking lot asleep. Thank goodness. They ran when alarm activated.
Good idea! Our system will send an alert if anyone crosses a boundary.
Nice presentation - got me thinking about doing something similar with our coach, probably doing four cameras up high for the perimeter and two lower down to pick up the area under the slides..
In looking at the Super Circuits site I found that their hard drives are the older SATA type and not SSD's (solid state drive). Not only are the SATA drives slower, they contain moving parts which have a tendency to rebel to exterior vibration such as an RV going down the road. The innards remind one of an old style record player with an arm floating over a disk. The SATA drives would be fine in a fixed installation such as a home or business by I would opt for an SSD drive for any mobile use. Disclaimer - I did not check the data sheets for each of their hard drives, just two of their 2TB units.

@@LizAmazing I only mention this because I experienced a hard drive failure in a laptop. The SATA drive did not like the way it got bounced around while in a computer stand in my state vehicle. The Expedition had a rougher ride than the Crown Vic, went to an SSD and never had a problem again. Our IT folks told me afterwards that if they had known I was changing vehicles they would have given me a new laptop with the SSD..
As a professional photographer, I remember switching to SD drives years ago for my work files, maybe ten or more years back. I did go on Super Circuits website and sure enough it shows SATA. We learned about Super Circuits from an RVer who has used them for years. Apparently no problems when moving. I will ask SC if they have plans to upgrade to the SSDs in the future. And I heard back from Super Circuits. They are using Seagate drives built specifically for the rigors of video recording to handle the constant writing/rewriting for high data capacity. One of the big reasons you do not see SSDs in recorders is cost. Customers still want a great price and putting in SSDs would significantly increase the cost of the systems. They will eventually add SSDs once the cost comes down significantly. Thanks again for your great question!
The SATA drives are parked when the NVR is booted down. You won’t have a problem. I have one drive on another RV that has 3 years of travel on it. No issues.

A camera system won't prevent the theft but it may help police confirm the identity of the thief if caught later. However, a crook can wear a ski mask or spray the camera lens with black spray paint while they stand out of the field of view. What I have is a bike cable lock that has a very long cable which connects to a very loud alarm similar to the noise made by a smoke detector when the wire cable is cut. I snake the cable into the bike frame, wheels, pedals, and the bike rack and around the RV bumper. I have a sign on the cable warning that cutting the cable will set off a loud alarm. The alarm box is u-bolted to the bike frame with the nuts concealed inside the alarm box so it can't be removed without opening the box with a key. Prying open the box also sounds the alarm. If the thief does cut the cable and rides away on the bike, he'll be drawing a lot of attention due to the alarm so he'll probably drop the bike and run. Remove the ebike battery and any expensive accessories like those super bright lights that are easy to remove. I added cameras to my motorhome but only for driving vision all around and in front, not for theft deterrence. Here's the alarm lock I have: store.lockalarm.com/
Just a suggestion when you get your new bikes put a GPS tracker on the inside of the frame👍👍 and nice surveillance system every rver should have one just to be on the safe side

IF you are in the market for your RV, have the money, go to the dealer/ manufacturer of your RV choice and tell them what you want or spec out your unit just like a truck or tractor!
You just might get lucky and watch it being built. It's interesting sitting in a Freightliner delivering a load, backed into the building to get unloaded and watch if lucky 3 frames come in and go out as an RV completely and driven under power and fully inspected! And from a Freightliner and all higher than on the floor! Great show!

Some hard wire into a 12v battery source and others are rechargeable.
I'd look for them on line, read the specs and go from there.

I think the system is great so you can watch them steal your stuff. Having said that, is there any way their system makes any noises when approached or allows you to speak when on the app? Cameras are only slightly deterrent, but if they hear you say something to them, they typically run. Better than nothing no matter what is said.
I can imagine all sorts of sounds that would send them to the depends aisle! A low growl, "Well, hello, there!" Lots more. That Star Wars sword i discovered tonight, grabbed from under my son's bed, certainly scared the hmmm out of me ( and my friend)! I did not know he had such a thing!
Now that you have security cameras, what now? I think awareness of your surroundings is your best defense. If you give thieves bait, they will eventually take it. They’re usually really good at what they do and what what the risks are. Don’t give them any bait or opportunity to victimize you.

Agree. Don’t give them any bait. Anything worth more than $100 that can be removed from the outside of a vehicle with a portable power tool is bait. It takes seconds, not minutes.

I was looking for someone to address the cordless power tools aspect. With a cordless angle grinder fitted with a steel cutting disc, it doesn't matter WHAT lock or chain you use, it will be gone in "seconds, not minutes", as you say. When I was a kid growing up in western Queensland, Australia, we would go away on holidays an not even lock the place up, and we never had an issue.

I think the ideal cam would be a middle ground between wired and wireless. So the cams themselves are wireless, but they connect to a dvr inside the RV through a local wifi or other wireless signal and can be viewed/recorded locally without needing cellular/internet coverage. When there is internet coverage (which the dvr can automatically connect to when available), then video gets recorded both locally and on the cloud, and can be viewed remotely. I wonder if such a camera exists

Do you have the power consumption for 24/7 recording? Boondocking sometimes has limited power. Possibly could use motion detection cameras to avoid recording when there is no action? Maybe measuring the 12VDC power supply current (amps) that feeds the system could give some sort of estimate.... Edited. The NVR that is in your link looks like it's 52VDC. That would require a higher voltage battery bank, or being plugged into a generator or the grid. I'm looking for a very efficient camera system for off grid/generator usage. Thanks for the video. I try to learn from my mistakes. Sometimes it's a lot of work to make enough mistakes for a good education. Your videos are honest and complete, saving others from having to experience the bad parts.
Yes. The power supply puts out a max of 5 amps on 120voltes. We are actually adding solar. The cameras can be set to only record incidents. We just chose to keep ours going 24/7. Interesting strategy for which cameras to have on incident and which for 24/7, see the pinned comment from someone who's had the system for years.
I have to tell you something so funny! It is a security idea for unwanted visitors. A friend came over to help me finish up sorting and packing the rest of our bedrooms. I reached way under my son's bunk to grab some odd looking stick like thing covered in dust. I grabbed it pulling it out when suddenly it lit up flashing wildly and made this very scary sound! I dropped it screaming! My friend screamed, too and jumped a foot! It was some kind of Star Wars type sword! VERY BRIGHT, VERY LOUD! My heart stopped. I do not know when he got it...from the amount of dust, it must have been when we moved here 14 years ago! We had a good laugh...it is going with us so if we have an intruder, that will scare them so badly they will knock themselves out leaving!
If I installed the cable I'd run it underneath through conduit to protect the cable as much as possible. Probably wouldn't use electrical conduit, just pvc well secured underneath. Know what you mean about ca-pr terminations ... they can be a bear sometimes.

Hubs is going to go stay with his sis for a visit in small town USA. He will take our truck camper and his ECells ebike ( check them out guys!) I told him to please lock up bike even if he felt safe leaving it besides camper in her driveway. We did get insurance on it last week. Has dual motors so I was having a hard time getting coverage.
I’ve had two bikes stolen from my RV in two different California locations. I’m traveled extensively in western states and BC, AB, Yukon and NWT Canada with no problems. I’m just not going to travel in California anymore. The state is a cesspool. I have camera images of both hoodied masked gangsta thieves that cut case-hardened kriptonite chain with hydraulic cutters in the middle of the night.
If you are connecting to a router to see your cameras when not home in the rv, I assume that you are using internet from the campground? Would you then need either a Hotspot or satellite internet elsewhere?

Have you considered downsizing to a smaller RV and not being tied to staying in RV parks or camp grounds? At some poin having a home base in an affordable area to keep things you want but don’t need full time is more economical than ,aintaining such a big rig, having to pay for expensive campgrounds that can accommodate such a big rig, higher insurance,, maintenance, now security and theft, etc, etc.
Hi Randy! We love our home on wheels! We moved up five feet and now it is perfect. It's a little stressful on travel days but getting easier. We also are terrible boondockers and love staying at Thousand Trails. Thanks though for your comment, at this point we have no interest in a stationary life. Will all the equipment work while boondocking in a wired system, or is shore power needed?
We use 110v but both the cameras and recorder can be run on 12v
How about vandelization when they dont get what they want i have hidden camers ans spotlights with a switch wired on 12v system and some signs on your rig give warning but if lawinforcement will not come out then take it in your own hands instantly!
We really love how ppl notice the cameras! That’s part of the theft deterrent. And of course we would have them on camera should they vandalize anything.
I did the best security system..I sold my RV…camp grounds now are expensive and filled with campers way too many bad people
Out and about..insurance costs and gasoline cost to tow. I now just drive to the area I want to see and get a hotel room.
My last camping trip another rv backed into my rv damaged my travel trailer..that’s it I am done.

So, as long as you have power and are hardwired to your ‘receiver’ even without WiFi you will have the culprits recorded. Just can’t access when away from your rig without a WiFi connection correct!? If so then you should have a battery backup system just for the security cameras for the rare times you may boondock. The backup power would also help if someone decided to turn the power off to your rig when away as well. Just trying to think like a bad guy. No need to put up signs about video cameras in use as I’m not sure bad guys can read! 😉 Keep up the great videos guys and watch your back!
Thank you Ed! If we don't have Internet, we can't send the data to our router to then get to the cloud for us to check remotely. We can then check the cameras to see what we missed when we get back. The security cameras are always working as long as we have power or on battery with solar.

It is about 1/3 from the nose on that side. We have a slide that comes out after that. We do not have 360 degree views, but we are pleased with what we can see. Glad to hear you'll be getting a wired camera system, too. We love ours! Let us know if you have any questions.

@@sonjahammond9250 YES! We love that the cameras are on 24/7 if we need that footage in case of an incident. We also have a regular backup camera. We can look at the RV cameras from our phone while driving, but honestly, we do not use it for navigation or lane changes. It's just good to know it's there. The view angle is a little wide for use with moving traffic. Might be helpful in a campground but instead I get out and guide.
I'm a retired LEO, I would suggest to concentrate on keeping the bikes out of the publics eye by covering them when not in use or if you're gone for a while place them inside of your rig
Yes it a inconveniences but with your luck it's a big savings. I disagree with placing the camera low. I could spray paint the lens before you know it. You also need to report the theft giving them the serial numbers. One more thing try to add a GPS on them.. Good luck!

Think in your shoes i would take off both the batteries, have detachable pedals when locked up and covered up outside, with no battery and no pedals thieves would hopefully move on, just an idea x

I think it is best that they not be of contrasting colors. Ideally they should be out of easy reach and sight.
