For curd rice south Indians never use basmati rice as it has different aroma, I will suggest for those who wish to make curd rice to use sona masoori rice which can be perfectly boiled, not half boiled as in this video, and then she is struggling to mash it as well 😂!!!

I have experienced that if the tadka is put in the beaten curd first and put to rest for an hour or so, it will soak up the flavours. Then the lukewarm warm/cooled rice can be mashed and a few tablespoons of milk , salt to taste and half a teaspoon of sugar can be added. Keep it in the fridge for half an hour or so . This will keep the rice moist and the flavours will be easily absorbed. Then take the rice and curd mixture and gently fold them together. Keep it in the fridge again for lunch or eat immediately. Flavours will be well absorbed.

Small suggestion, when u make kari (thoran) make sure the mustard pops before you add other ingredients and urad dhal has to turn brown, so-that you will get nice aroma. Saroja Bhashyam

For rasam please dont use channa dhal bec the rasam will become too thick like sambar, only thuvar dhall is enough and definitely not that much methi, just 5 or six will do. Saroja Bhashyam

Sakshi why dont you buy a proper masher instead of mashing with a wooden roti presser!

Tamilians make poriyal and not thoran. Besides, they dont use basmati rice for curd rice. Instead they use ponni, or samba rice. Ghee is not usedfor the radam tempering. Why was sufficient research not done before creating this episode?

Thoran is a Kerala dish. You are making it in the name of a temple festival of Tamil Nadu .typical north Indian trait to mix up south Indian states ..guess we have to give up on making you people understand..
